Watercolor Ornament Shaped Card

Hi everybody,

Ever since I got my Ornament Infinity Dies I wanted to use the largest die to make a shaped card.  Yup finally did it!!  I created a snowy sunset scene.

I use watercolor and painted the sunset and snowy ground first, then stamped the shrubs/trees.  Next I white heat emboss the snowflakes.  Stamped sentiment and added the adorable watercolored moose.  To ensure the ornament can stand I cut the back panel slightly on the bottom.  Like so.

I used many sets on my card, the round shrub is from the 3-D House Essential set, the slender shrub is actually the Thyme from the Fresh Herbs set, the snowflakes and moose are from the Woodland Set by Lia, the sentiment is from the Winter Cheer Tag Set by Lia, and the “made with love” words are from the Santa Snacks Stamp and Cut.   I really had fun creating this card.  Hope you would join me and play along this month’s challenge – Winter.  Remember there are new rules, be sure to check it by clicking the Challenge Rules button on the top.

A Hero Arts Tree-Mendous Season’s Greetings

I think everyone is getting ready for the holidays and I’m no different.  I wanted a slightly modern twist so I used the Tree-Mendous digital kit from A2Z Scrapbooking.   Without further ado:

Very simply done, but I like the angular lines on the background and the trees.

This close-up shows the simplicity and colors I used.

You can find me at A Bit of This and That.

Hero Arts Holiday Houses Perfect for the Winter

With digital images, you can enlarge or decrease the size according to your need.  I printed two houses and adjusted the size of one to a bit larger size.  I’m happy with both of them.  These cards were super easy to make because the background is part of a paper pad with varying shades of colors.  I bought two pads a couple of years ago because I knew I would want more than one paper pad.  That is so true.   I really enjoyed making a couple of scenes with the houses.

Don’t you love the icy snow?

My second card has a wonderful sky and some snowy ground with icy snow on the roof.

I used a smaller sized sentiment with the larger house and a different color in the windows.

Winter Tea Cup Cocoa

Happy Sunday everyone, so glad you drop by today.

Winter: a perfect season for a cup of hot cocoa full of marshmallows!!  You know it, Winter is our current challenge theme.  I hope I’ve inspired you to join in the fun!!

To create my card, I die cut my cup using one of the dies from the Hero Arts Nesting Tea Cup Infinity Dies using red card stock.  To add the 3D look I flipped the die upside down (like photo below) and die a thin section apart.

This way I can use the two pieces to sandwich my marshmallows.  The Gingerbread men, sentiment, hearts, and holly are white heat embossed.  Then the cup is adhered to a plaid pattern paper panel and then onto white card base.

Getting into the Christmas spirit with Hero Arts

Hello!

Erica back on the blog today with a card to get into the Christmas spirit. I’m always stressing a little bit about my Christmas cards so I am trying to get ahead a little bit. Being European, we don’t do Thanksgiving so November is all about getting prepared and planning for Christmas. Not that I need an excuse to get crafty.

You might have noticed that I have used a lot of texture paste or embellishment mousse on my recent projects in the last month or so and I couldn’t help myself, I got it out again. Eh, what can I say? Once the texture paste beast has got you in its grips, it is hard to get away.

Before I added the texture paste, I made an ink smooched background using Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron and some Hero Arts Moss Hybrid ink

I also used one of the striped stamps from Hero Arts Happy Mail which I stamped along the side of the card panel. To keep with the colour scheme I used a Hero Arts dark green ink which came in one of the monthly kits, I think it was Hero Arts Thanksgiving Letter Layering ink cube set but don’t hold me to that.

To add some texture to the card, I got a stencil and some BoBunny Glitter paste (you could try Nuvo Golden Crystal Glimmer paste for a similar effect) and got to work. Instead of adding it all over the card, I kept it to one single line of leaves. Or well, I tried. I strayed a little and didn’t want to risk ruining the whole card by wiping it off so there are a few little rebellious bits there. Anyway, I thought it ended up looking a bit like a pine needles which is exactly what I wanted. Yay!

Untitled_Artwork 14

I found this really, really old HA Christmas tree stamp set (it’s so old it’s been retired but you could use Hero Arts Classic Christmas Tree and the coordinating frame cut ) and I stamped it up on Copic friendly paper and then got my markers out to colour it in. I used loads of different ones to give it a realistic look. I have a coordinating die for this but forgot where I put it so I used my scissors to fussy cut it out. I added the tree to the card using foam tape, it is my go-to adhesive. Then I stamped a ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment on white card stock with VersaMark ink and I heat embossed it with Ranger Ink Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder before adhering it to the card too.

Untitled_Artwork 13

This card ended up very green and it’s not my favourite colour to be honest but it works very well with gold accents I think.

One Christmas card done, about 50 to go…

Happy crafting from

erica

New Idea for Ornaments Infinity Dies

Hi, friends, Chark here today. I wanted to show you what I did with the Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies. I turned the small rounded tip one into a string of Christmas lights for a gift bag.

IMG_5121

I used alcohol inks to color some glossy paper with bright colors then die cut two bulbs to sandwich black string between the bulbs. To make them look more like bulbs, I used a thin black marker on the ends.

I used the digital A Natural Christmas set that’s actually a cut file but I just printed the silhouette sentiment (5×7 size), added it to black cardstock, used a white Uniball pen to add dots and added the Ocean ombre sequins and a couple of stray snowflake sequins I had.

IMG_5110

It makes for a festive and bright gift for the holidays. I love making backgrounds with inks and markers and watercolors and then using the ornaments to die cut the papers. I’ll be using them for tags this year. There’s still time to get your set of Ornaments Infinity Dies and use for tags and cards too!

Hero Arts Joys of the Season

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a DT inspiration project with you today, an acetate Christmas card using the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly stamp set and the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly Frame Cuts along with the Hero Arts Acetate Note Cards. I’m pretty happy with my growing stack of Christmas cards – I should be in good shape to have them all mailed by December 1st!

I created a totally clear acetate card several weeks ago and I just couldn’t resist making another one although this card has diagonal panels of cardstock on which to stamp and layer my holly die cut. This is definitely clean and simple which I’m really loving these days. I embellished the front panel with a single holly leaf and used sparkly red sequins for the berries to add a little dimension and interest.

2017_10100004a

I stamped the front and inside sentiments in Hero Arts Red Royal ink.

For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Scrappy hugs!
Leslie

Hero Arts Winter Forest Digital & Christmas Messages

wm3 nov 15

Hi, it’s Angie here with some inspiration for this month’s “Winter Challenge”.  I used a digital set combined with sentiment stamp set, see the list below for links!

This card was super easy since I used the digital background, printed it up and die cut it then adhered it to a brown panel then the card base.  I added the heat embossed sentiment that was cut with a banner die up on foam tape for dimension.  Lastly I added lots of sparkle to the trees and snow with a sparkle pen!

It’s hard to see all the shine on the trees and snows from the sparkle pen, but I tried to capture it in the picture below:

Hero Arts CM179 Winter Silhouettes Tis the Season card

It’s Sue here today. I have another Christmas card. I love Christmas. It’s a time to re-connect with family and friends. Here’s my card

Growing up in Canada, I loved winter and skating, especially on an outside rink or frozen pond. For this card, I stamped the trees, silhouetted skater and sentiment from Hero Arts’ CM179 Winter Silhouettes stamp set. I added some distress ink (tumbled glass) to give the card a frosty feeling. For a bit of sparkle, I added Nuvo drops to some of the branches on the tree.

A Calendar of Many Hero Arts Stamps

I have made my calendar for 2018 and I’d like to share some of my pages with you.  I used two sided papers for my calendar as the calendar is in notebook form, turning at the top.

January 2-18 and I put my red Cardinal in.  This set is sold out at A2Z Scrapbooking, but any Winter scene you want to use would be fine.

February 2018 has a blue snowy background paper and I stamped trees in white with my Brrrrrr die-cut

You could use the Classic Christmas Tree here or the Winter Silhouettes here

I figure everyone would have spring fever, including me and what gives us more of a feeling of freedom than the great outdoors and scooting around.  These little scooters are in the digital kit City Adventure here.

Come April and we’re all thinking of trips to our National Parks and so I used the “Save Our National Parks stamp, which may be custom ordered.

.

May is all about butterflies flitting around and this Color Layering Butterfly stamp set is on sale right now here.

June is time to relax with a cup of hot tea for me and I used the Kitchen Silhouettes for my cup with a die-cut steam.  But you could use the digital kit Caffeine Fix for your cup here.

I am at A Bit of This and That.  And remember to use my discount code Arlene15 at A2Z Scrapbooking to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more.

I’ve taken you through June of 2018 of my calendar.  I guess I am prepared for next year.  Happy Calendaring, Scrapbooking and Cardmaking to you all.
