Hello Friend ~ Color Layering Graphic Flowers

Welcome crafty friends. I have a new card to show you that I created with Hero Arts CL862 Color Layering Graphic Flowers stamp set.

Aug 29A

Using mini inks from my current favorite Lucy’s Floral Favorites mini inks. I love these colors and love how they work together. I stamped the middle two sized flowers – the larger one with Butter Bar and the smaller one with Fresh Pink. The centers of the smaller flower were stamped with Soft Cantaloupe.

Aug 29B

I stamped the leaves with the Green Hills color. I fussy-cut all the flowers and leaves.

I assembled two flowers with leaves, stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of yellow cardstock and matted it with a cantaloupe-like color.  Here’s my completed card

Hero Arts Feathers Digital File

Hero Arts Feathers Digital File

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with you! As you know, I love the digital cutting files of Hero Arts because they are exclusive and totally beautiful! You can only find these in our store a2z scrapbooking supplies, but I love to combine the digital with the real stamps and today I am sharing a card that I made using this combination. Take a look at my card:

Hero Arts Feathers Digital File

In this card I used basic black card stock for the base and the second layer. I cut the Hero Arts Feathers Digital File over the second layer using my cricut explore but you can use any electronic cutting machine because the Hero Arts Digital Files comes in dxf, svg, png and jpg file formats, compatible with most cutting machine software – you just need to check your software specifications to be sure it can use one of these formats.

After I cut the Feathers the process was very simple:

  1. Cut a piece of whisper white to cover the window created by the feathers.
  2. Ink this piece with your favorites colors of distress ink. In my simple I used Seedles Preserves, Ocean Salty and Peacock Feathers.
  3. Paste the inked piece over the base of the card.
  4. Stamp a sentiment over the black layer using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. I used a sentiment from the Celebrate Tag Stamp & Cut by Lia Set.
  5. Paste the black layer using dimensionals and decorate with two Crystal Drops in coordinating colors.

Hero Arts Feathers Digital File

Simple and fun to create! And the best part is that I have three feathers left over that I cut to use for another project!

I hope you enjoy my project and it inspires you to use the Hero Arts stamps combined with digital files. On a2z Scrapbooking Store you will find a lot of options of digital files that you can combine with stencils, stamps and other embellishments. AND if you’re shopping, be sure to use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off your purchase!

See you again soon, take care!

Leaves, Autumn, Harvest

Monica here today to share with you my last card for the color it in challenge.  I went with a fall theme, because it is right around the corner and I for one can’t wait! It is my favorite season, with its cool crisp are and the colors of the trees!!! I kept with the challenge theme using a background stamp and dies.

leaves close up

I used the background stamp to create the lines before die cutting the leaf shapes and coloring them in. I was trying for a stained glass look, but was told by my 9 year old it didn’t look right.😉  I blended some inks on the back ground to cover the stark white cardstock. I also stamped the sentiment banner using an older Hero Arts set, colored and fussy cut it.

Before adding my stamped and colored images to the card I wrapped the panel with some brown burlap ribbon. I then adhered my leaves and banner with glue dots and foam squares for added dimension.

There is still a few days for you join our challenge.

Scrapbooking with Hero Arts “Beach”

Hero Arts Beach Scrapbook Layout

Happy Friday! Kristina here with a layout this time! Summer is winding down, it’s time to get all those memories into albums! There’s many stamps sets that just don’t have an easy use on a layout, but I bought Hero Arts Beach Stamps and the Palm Tree dies specifically for this purpose! For this one I just stamped a repeating border of Beach stamps, colored with copics, and topped with some wink of stella (although the shimmer didn’t scan well).
Easy Peasy Right?!

The palm tree die is on sale right now in our store AND use code Kristina15 for 15% off a $25+ purchase
All supplies linked below!

Be sure to join in on this months challenge also! Color In is the theme!!

Until Next Time!

Hero Arts Potted Succulents + Distress Crayons

Hi friends – welcome back to another COLOR IT IN card featuring these gorgeous Hero Arts succulents. Looks like one of them may be sold out in the store, but I spy the other one…AND they both have matching dies. SWOON – you know I’m kinda sorta addicted to dies, but let’s not dwell on that mmm…kkk….?😀

I saw a video recently where the individual colored directly on watercolor paper with their distress crayons – I used Ranger water color paper which has a lot of texture so I wasn’t too fond of how that was looking. I then took to putting color on my craft mat and picking up with a brush and  bit of water. The coolest things about these crayons is once they are dry, they are permanent, so you CANNOT blend the color that is dry. Hmmm…great learning experience! This was my first time to dig in and really play so I learned lots. You can layer on other colors after the initial colors are dry which is super fun for changing the colors or adding shading. I think using a different type of water color paper with less texture might work a little better. Regardless, I warriored on and determined to make it work (said in my best Tim Gunn voice – any other Project Runway peeps out there?).

I stamped the first two succulents, masked them off and then stamped the 3rd in the background. Nothing fancy after that, just water coloring and having fun. I mounted the main panel with fun foam on a neutral card base, added some washi tape and that’s it – pretty easy peasy.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you’ll take the time to join our COLOR IT IN challenge (link ’em up HERE), as always, there is a great prize up for grabs. AND if you’re shopping, be sure to use the code “MicheleG15” to receive 15% off your purchase! See you again soon, take care!

Hello Gorgeous!

Hello everyone,

It’s Donna here and this months challenge is “Color It In”! You have to use at least one Hero Arts image on your card that you can color in. Please go to the a2z blog and see what the talented design team has created. You can also add your project to the inlinkz here.  There is only about a week to play along!

I am using the Color Layering Flamingo stamp set and die.  I love this set it is so adorable.  I distressed my background to look like the sunset and water below.  I added the greenery in two different colors Moss and Pine by Hero Arts.

I stamped the flamingos in Hero Arts ink Soft Pink, Bubble Gum and Ultra Pink.  I die cut them out and cut the feet off, because I stamped them right to the card.  I popped them up on the card.  I finished off the card by adding the sentiment.

Pineapple Favor Box with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Tuesday friends!  I’ve been playing around with the Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple with the Hero Arts hybrid inks (Dandelion, Tangerine, Caramel, Green Apple and Moss).  The inks stamp so vibrantly on Hero Arts Kraft Layering Paper!

I have a business meeting I’ll be attending in San Antonio and thought these favor boxes made with the We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board would be perfect to pass out!

I used the matching die cut to create that little flower embellishment and added a Hero Arts Diamond Gem for a little bling.  The boxes are filled with chocolate covered macadamia nuts.

Talk about a stamping good time!  The color layering really brings the pineapple image to life and was pretty quick to do for mass production.

Don’t forget to join our latest challenge: Color It In for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking store!

Mahalo for stopping by!!

You’re so lovely

Hi stampers!

Ilina’s here today and today I have more summery card for you. The last few times I was here I shared goodies from the new Winter catalog, but since it’s still HOT here in Georgia I decided to share more summery card. I used one of my favorite sets called You’re so Lovely and stamped the flower and stem with Lime Green and Soft Pool, then added dimension with Chameleon pens by coloring over the stamped images. I die cut my white panel and the flower and assembled my card. Scroll down for list of supplies!

Hope you like my non-conventional take of the coloring challenge this month. And hope I have inspired you to play along with us this month!

And don’t forget, use the code “Ilina15” in the A2ZScrapbooking store to receive 15% off your orders of $25+

Hero Arts – An Oldie but a Goodie

Hi Dawn here.  I am waiting for my new goodies from the latest catalogue to make their way to New Zealand, so today for our Color it Challenge, I am sharing an older Hero Arts stamp set (discontinued)  I am sure many of you will have this in your stash as it is an all time favourite butterfly set!

I made this for the Hero Arts Flickr group Scramble.  I stamp the butterflies all over my background and added is some 2nd generation stamped dragonflies.   I coloured up the butterflies going up the page, with some vibrant Zig Clean Color brush markers in blues and grey.   The sentiment was white embossed onto black card.  It comes from the Hello Stamp and Cut set (available HERE  in our A2Z Scrapbooking Store).  Some Spectrum Noir sparkle pen, a simple blue mat and it’s all done.

Be sure to check out the Store…. there are LOTS of goodies there.  Remember  if you are in need of any items  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. (before tax and shipping)  And don’t forget that we are on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

Sometimes it’s just nice to color something that you can see the results almost immediately – instant gratification, so to speak.  I was in that mood today.  Some flutterbies were fluttering and flitting around my table, so I grabbed them and colored them.  I’ve been feeling better and better about leaving “white space” on my cards.  If you see little hairlike things at the bottom of my card, that’s my green grass going brown.  Trying to conserve water during our dry summer here in California.  I hope you enjoy these butterflies and use some too – before the summer flits by.  I don’t think I’ve ever colored the butterflies with such deep colors before.  Happy Summer Days!
