Hero Arts Thank You Berry Much

I am back with another Sentiment Focus card using the Hero Arts’ Produce and Seeds set.

My process:

  • On white card base stamp sentiment and berries images from the Produce and Seeds set in black and heat emboss with clear powder.
  • Use watercolors to color the images.
  • Ink the top side of an embossing folder with watermark ink.  Place card base in embossing folder and hand pressed selected area.
  • Use inking tool to sponge Squeezed Lemonade very lightly around the stamped areas and edges.
  • Embellished with sequins.

The background is very subtle, and it’s not show up a lot on the photo.  So I guess you will have to take my words for it!  🙂

There’s still plenty time to join in this month challenge.  Follow the challenge theme and remember to use a Hero Arts stamp, digital image, stencil and/or die cut as focal image.

The Produce and Seeds clear stamp set is available at the a2z store, use my code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.  If you don’t find the item in the store, just click the blue Request Custom Order button on the left side bar.

Hello Hello Hello with Hero Arts

Dawn here to say Hello, Hello, Hello…. following on with our monthly theme of Focus on the Sentiment.

I was inspired by a couple of different cards on Pinterest.  Took ideas from them and came up with this CAS card.

I used my MISTI to ensure I got a good dark black stamping of my Hello and the rest of the sentiment (from DC151 Hello Stamp & Cut– :  This popular Stamp set is currently Out of Stock at a2z Scrapbooking, however you can CUSTOM Order it in the Store. Just click on the REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER form on the store HOME Page).  I trimmed the panel and added a black mat.  Thanks to MISTI I was able to do some multi colour stamping on the feathers (from CM126 Color Layering Peacock. )  I used colours from the matching ink set. (AF394 Peacock Layering inks)  I fussy cut them and added.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. (before tax and shipping)  And don’t forget that we are on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

thanks for stopping by today and we hope you will join us with your project.

International Behçet’s Disease Day

Dear Crafty Friends,

Today, May 20th, is International Behçet’s Day.

Behçet’s Disease  is a rare, chronic, autoimmune, auto inflammatory vasculitis of unknown origin. It  currently impacts 16,000-20,000 people in the United States.  In the United States and Europe, more women are affected by this disease than men, but in the Middle East and Japan it affects more men than women.

Behçets is a multi-system disease with symptoms of genital and oral ulcers and uveitis (eye infections which can cause vision loss). It can also cause joint pain, gastro ulcers, neurological complications (such as neuropathy, strokes or seizures and language issues). It can take years to diagnose, because it is a process of elimination rather than a specific test. You can learn more about Behçet’s at http://www.behcets.com.

a2z Scrapbooking was formed in 2007 to raise funds for Behçet’s research and to provide an opportunity for children with Celiac to go to summer camp in a gluten free environment. Your purchases help these causes!

As the volunteer Purchasing Director for a2z Scrapbooking, I am proud to volunteer for a company that makes contributions to Behçet’s Disease research. I have had Behçet’s since infancy but wasn’t officially diagnosed until after my first heart attack at the age of 40 in 2001. I have had thirteen miscarriages. I have survived six strokes, seizures, macular edema, uveitis, and five heart attacks. Behçets has been a relentless disease for me.

Since there is no cure for Behçet’s disease I have learned to live in warrior mode to fight this disease, while enjoying my role as Purchasing Director of a2z Scrapboooking. It is a delight to work with our talented design team and staff while contributing to making a difference. And our customers are second to none!

If you would like more information about Behçets please go to the American Behcet’s Associations website.

I had planned to do a card with this post, but unfortunately my health did not permit this.

There is still plenty time to join in the fun and play our May challenge – Sentiment Focus.  Click the Current Monthly Challenge tab to get the details and link up.

Hero Arts Hummingbird Twins

Hello there,

My Sentiment Focus inspired card measure 4 by 6 inches.  Why deviate from the usual A2 size card you ask, well just take a look and you will see.

The A2 card just won’t fit the two hummingbirds holding the banner.   That’s why.   Hehe!

My process:

  • Cut white card stock into 4 by 6 inches card base.
  • Lay Large Lotus Pattern stencil on card front, secure with washi tape and apply a light coat of Wild Honey using inking tool.
  • Die cut hummingbirds (Hero Arts Paper Layering Hummingbird Pair) twice using watercolor paper.
  • Paint hummingbirds with watercolors.  Let dry.  Use black marker to draw eyes and use white gel pen to add white of eye.
  • Apply Clear Wink of Stella to hummingbirds die cuts.
  • Stamp birthday banner (Hero Arts Papel Picado Banners) with Ombre Ink – Light to Dark Purple on white card stock.  Closely trim.
  • Adhere trimmed banner on purple glitter paper with glue.  Let dry, trim.
  • Adhere banner and hummingbird dies onto card base with foam adhesive as shown.

Here’s a close up so you could see the shimmers on the birds.

There is still plenty time to join in the fun and play our May challenge – Sentiment Focus.  Click the Current Monthly Challenge tab to get the details and link up.

The hummingbird dies are really cute, aren’t they?  Get your own at the a2z store, use my code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.  If you don’t find the item in the store, just click the blue Request Custom Order button on the left side bar.

Hero Arts Love is Love- Share Handmade Kindness

Hi Stampers!

Ilina’s here today! Today I am using couple new  Hero Arts products from the new catalog. Unfortunately both sold out from our Etsy store yesterday, but you can always request custom order, and they’ll be ordered for you.

And don’t forget to use the code “Ilina15” in order to get 15% on your next order from A2Z Scrapbooking store. If you like something and don’t see it in the store make sure you do “request custom order” and it’ll be ordered for you 😉

For my card I stamped the background stamp with versamark on Pool card and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I trimmed it. I die cut the sentiment (I applied stick it adhesive on the back for easy adhering to my card). Then sponged it with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I adhered it to my panel and then onto my white card base. Added White Crystal Nuvo drops as finishing touch.

Hero Arts Dress Up | Have a Beautiful Birthday

Hero Arts Dress Up Stamp & Cut

Hi friends, Kristina here with a birthday card using a fun new Hero Arts stamp & cut. I was super excited when I saw this release, how cute is this stamp set?

I love that you get multiple face options depending on your mood, two different girls and a ton of fun sentiments!

For my card I die cut a rectangle postage stamp and stamped my images, then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I die cut the skirt, and made little folds along the embossed lines made from the die. For my background piece I stamped the Hero Arts Confetti background stamp in Tide Pool ink. After assembling everything together, I mounted it onto a white a2 sized card base, and added some wink of stella fun all over her skirt.

Below I’ve linked all supplies used here, most can be purchased in the a2z scrapbooking store AND hows about 15% off?!? Just use my code KRISTINA15 at checkout on orders of $25+. Looking for something you don’t see in the store? Use the request custom order button to make a special request.

Kitchen Silhouettes Gift Card

gift card wm main.jpg

Hi everyone, it’s Angie today and I have a quick and easy gift card holder to share with you today.  I used a digital set for this card:  Kitchen Silhouettes – available exclusively at a2zscrapbooking store!

I wanted a give a gift to a friend who has been very helpful!  I used the “You” from a Thank You die from Hero Arts.  There was a stamp set from a Hero Arts kit a few months ago, that went with it and that’s were the “are the best” came from.  Here’s a link to the Thank You die-cut.

I pulled different stamps into a word document and made them a lot smaller, then I printed it out and cut it with a gift card die.  I put the “You” on it then stamped the rest of the sentiment and it’s complete!  Super fast!

What a fast card!  Digital stamps are especially great when you are in a hurry!  I think I will be using these fun cooking/kitchen digital stamps a lot, especially for when I give homemade goodies away, or invite friends over for dinner!

I hope you will find the time to join the “Sentiment Focus” Challenge this month!  You could win a $25 gift card to the a2z store!

If you need supplies, even ones you don’t see in the store, you can special order them at a2z!  And don’t forget if you spend more than $25 (excluding shipping), you can use the code Angie15 to save 15% on your purchase!

Hero Arts Color Layering Fuchsia

Hi! It’s Sue here with a new card for you. I used Hero Arts CL124 Color Layering Fuchsia stamp set. This stamp set makes me look like a pro-crafter. It’s so easy to use and the end result is quite amazing. Here’s my card

I stamped different inks with each step. Using my MISTI, makes it quite easy to line up the stamps. I wasn’t sure how to finish the card.  I decided on cutting the focal image into a large oval. I popped up the oval using a slightly smaller oval, cut out of fun foam on a dark purple background. I used silver embossing powder for the sentiment.

We’d love for you to join us at our challenge for May. Please just be sure that the focal image on your card showcases a Hero Arts product.

If you’re looking for Hero Arts products, consider shopping online at a2z Scrapbooking etsy store. When your cart exceeds $25, use my code sue15 for 15% off your purchase.

Color layering Gold Fish stamp set is another adorable set from Hero Arts. I said adorable because you will love change the colors of these gold fishes and how easy it is to create different effects on them. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Gold fish card!. Take a look at my card:

This month our challenge is to use sentiments and this stamp set includes a great sentiment for life. So with my design I wanted to create a special frame just for the sentiment. Let me share how I made the card:

  1. Cut the base using green card stock.
  2. Cut a second layer using whisper white card stock and emboss this one with Records embossing folder.
  3. Stamp the two gold fishes included on the stamp set Color Layering Gold Fish by Hero Arts using different colors of ink to each layer. For the base layer I used Hero Arts Butter Bar Ink, for the second layer or detailed layer I used Hero Arts Just Rust Ink and for the last detailed image I used Hero Arts Indigo Hybrid Ink.
  4. Cut the gold fishes with the corresponding die cuts or scissors.
  5. Stamp the foliage using Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink and cut with die cuts or scissors.
  6. Add the embossed layer over the card base.
  7. Paste the foliage using OnPoint Glue from Imagine and the Gold fishes with dimensionals.
  8. Stamp the sentiment using Hero Arts Indigo Hybrid Ink on a separate piece of paper and decorate the border with a blue card stock.
  9. Paste the sentiment with dimensionals too.
  10. To finalize the decoration add some clear skittles in blue color that I pasted with OnPoint Glue.

Easy and fun!

I decided to use Hero Arts Indigo Hybrid Ink ink to stamp the third layer of the image and create a special effect on my fishes but you can experiment with other colors. Don’t forget to share your creations with us and participate in our a2z Scrapbooking Challenge, the theme this month is Sentiments and you can link your project HERE.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.
