good luck

Hello everyone! My card today is a card I made for my son’s drama debut! His school had a drama club this year and they did School House Rock Live Jr. They all did a great job.  I made this card to wish him luck before the show and made an Oreo bouquet for after! (He liked the bouquet better than the card!)

good louck

I used three ink colors to stamp the back ground and embossed the the black on some vellum. I trimmed down my panel and lined it with black cardstock. I then adhered it to the cardbase. The embossed sentiment was torn from the vellum sheet and popped up on the panel.

Make Your Own Digital because You’re Sew Nice

Make your sentiment be the focus.

The digital kit has many old fashioned images and sentiments that go together so well.  I love the pincushion and yest, I cut it out by hand and didn’t lose any pins in the adventure. In real life, this is quite striking.  The black “pins” embedded into the pin cushion are dots of black enamel accents.  They pop more than seen here.  This was quite fun to do, very cAS.  Sometimes you should tell someone you think they’re nice.  What better card to send someone who sews.

Once embossed, I die cut ‘prayers’ from the center (uh…should have saved those inside pieces, WHOOPS) and sponged on Worn Lipstick oxide ink and Fired Brick distress ink. I embossed the rest of the sentiment on black card stock and mounted with dimensional tape, added more black cardstock behind the sentiment, swiped the top and bottom of the 4 bar card with Worn Lipstick oxide ink and that’s it! Super simple yet very striking.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join our challenge this month; you can link up YOUR projects HERE!

Hero Arts – Prayers

Hello everyone!

I am here with a2z Scrapbooking to share with you another card.  This month’s challenge is “Sentiment Focus”.  If you would like to join in on the fun, you can link your project up here.  All you have to do is use at least one Hero Arts product on your project.

Here is my card, I am using the Hero Arts Prayers Stamp and Cut set.  The Prayers is my sentiment focus.

Here is how I put my card together:

1.  My card is an A2 card,
2.  I die cut two rectangle layers, 1 in black and 1 in white with the Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity dies,
3.  I used the Hero Arts Spiral Petals Stencil for my background, I used the Hero Arts Bold Ink Indigo to stencil,

 4.  I then die cut the “prayers” out with black cardstock and then die cut the “prayers” out again with black foam, I adhered these two pieces together with liquid glue,

5.  I positioned the die cut “prayers” where I wanted it on my card and stamped the sentiments using Hero Arts Intense Black ink,
6.  I finished my card with some Hero Arts Ombre Ocean Sequins.

Closer look of the foam I used on the “prayer” to give the word more dimension.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. If the product is no longer in the store, you can request the item by clicking on the “request custom order” on the right side of the store highlighted in orange.  You can also use the code “Donna15” to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

a2z Scrapbooking has a TwitterInstagram and Facebook pages. Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any of the promotions!

I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge this month! You will have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store! One lucky winner will be announced on June 7th.

Good luck and please come back again soon!

For the Grad with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Tuesday friends!  It’s graduation season around here which means I’ll be needing a stash of money/gift card holders.  Here’s today’s project…

Congrats Grad with Hero Arts

Hero Arts has a Mini Mailer Fancy Die that has been on my list to get, but to create today’s gift card/money holder I took the Lawn Fawn Stitched Envelope die in various school color combinations.

See the “confetti” on the top flap?  I thought it would be fun to use the Hero Arts Origami Animals with matching dies in a different way.

origamidies

I thought these dies would be fun to use as confetti instead, so I cut some glitter paper and adhered to the top flap.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and for darker paper I heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

Congrats Grad with Hero Arts

These are fun and quick to do and really could be used for just about any occasion!  Don’t forget there’s still time to play with us for our monthly challenge Sentiment Focus for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store.

Mahalo for stopping by!

Hero Arts Thank You Berry Much

Hi,

I am back with another Sentiment Focus card using the Hero Arts’ Produce and Seeds set.

My process:

  • On white card base stamp sentiment and berries images from the Produce and Seeds set in black and heat emboss with clear powder.
  • Use watercolors to color the images.
  • Ink the top side of an embossing folder with watermark ink.  Place card base in embossing folder and hand pressed selected area.
  • Use inking tool to sponge Squeezed Lemonade very lightly around the stamped areas and edges.
  • Embellished with sequins.

The background is very subtle, and it’s not show up a lot on the photo.  So I guess you will have to take my words for it!  🙂

There’s still plenty time to join in this month challenge.  Follow the challenge theme and remember to use a Hero Arts stamp, digital image, stencil and/or die cut as focal image.

The Produce and Seeds clear stamp set is available at the a2z store, use my code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.  If you don’t find the item in the store, just click the blue Request Custom Order button on the left side bar.

Hello Hello Hello with Hero Arts

Dawn here to say Hello, Hello, Hello…. following on with our monthly theme of Focus on the Sentiment.

I was inspired by a couple of different cards on Pinterest.  Took ideas from them and came up with this CAS card.

I used my MISTI to ensure I got a good dark black stamping of my Hello and the rest of the sentiment (from DC151 Hello Stamp & Cut– :  This popular Stamp set is currently Out of Stock at a2z Scrapbooking, however you can CUSTOM Order it in the Store. Just click on the REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER form on the store HOME Page).  I trimmed the panel and added a black mat.  Thanks to MISTI I was able to do some multi colour stamping on the feathers (from CM126 Color Layering Peacock. )  I used colours from the matching ink set. (AF394 Peacock Layering inks)  I fussy cut them and added.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. thanks for stopping by today and we hope you will join us with your project.

International Behçet’s Disease Day

Dear Crafty Friends,

Today, May 20th, is International Behçet’s Day.

Behçet’s Disease  is a rare, chronic, autoimmune, auto inflammatory vasculitis of unknown origin. It  currently impacts 16,000-20,000 people in the United States.  In the United States and Europe, more women are affected by this disease than men, but in the Middle East and Japan it affects more men than women.

Behçets is a multi-system disease with symptoms of genital and oral ulcers and uveitis (eye infections which can cause vision loss). It can also cause joint pain, gastro ulcers, neurological complications (such as neuropathy, strokes or seizures and language issues). It can take years to diagnose, because it is a process of elimination rather than a specific test. You can learn more about Behçet’s at http://www.behcets.com.

a2z Scrapbooking was formed in 2007 to raise funds for Behçet’s research and to provide an opportunity for children with Celiac to go to summer camp in a gluten free environment. Your purchases help these causes!

As the volunteer Purchasing Director for a2z Scrapbooking, I am proud to volunteer for a company that makes contributions to Behçet’s Disease research. I have had Behçet’s since infancy but wasn’t officially diagnosed until after my first heart attack at the age of 40 in 2001. I have had thirteen miscarriages. I have survived six strokes, seizures, macular edema, uveitis, and five heart attacks. Behçets has been a relentless disease for me.

Since there is no cure for Behçet’s disease I have learned to live in warrior mode to fight this disease, while enjoying my role as Purchasing Director of a2z Scrapboooking. It is a delight to work with our talented design team and staff while contributing to making a difference. And our customers are second to none!

If you would like more information about Behçets please go to the American Behcet’s Associations website.

I had planned to do a card with this post, but unfortunately my health did not permit this.

There is still plenty time to join in the fun and play our May challenge – Sentiment Focus.  Click the Current Monthly Challenge tab to get the details and link up.

Hero Arts Hummingbird Twins

Hello there,

My Sentiment Focus inspired card measure 4 by 6 inches.  Why deviate from the usual A2 size card you ask, well just take a look and you will see.

The A2 card just won’t fit the two hummingbirds holding the banner.   That’s why.   Hehe!

My process:

  • Cut white card stock into 4 by 6 inches card base.
  • Lay Large Lotus Pattern stencil on card front, secure with washi tape and apply a light coat of Wild Honey using inking tool.
  • Die cut hummingbirds (Hero Arts Paper Layering Hummingbird Pair) twice using watercolor paper.
  • Paint hummingbirds with watercolors.  Let dry.  Use black marker to draw eyes and use white gel pen to add white of eye.
  • Apply Clear Wink of Stella to hummingbirds die cuts.
  • Stamp birthday banner (Hero Arts Papel Picado Banners) with Ombre Ink – Light to Dark Purple on white card stock.  Closely trim.
  • Adhere trimmed banner on purple glitter paper with glue.  Let dry, trim.
  • Adhere banner and hummingbird dies onto card base with foam adhesive as shown.

Here’s a close up so you could see the shimmers on the birds.

There is still plenty time to join in the fun and play our May challenge – Sentiment Focus.  Click the Current Monthly Challenge tab to get the details and link up.

The hummingbird dies are really cute, aren’t they?  Get your own at the a2z store, use my code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.  If you don’t find the item in the store, just click the blue Request Custom Order button on the left side bar.

Hero Arts Love is Love- Share Handmade Kindness

Hi Stampers!

Ilina’s here today! Today I am using couple new  Hero Arts products from the new catalog. Unfortunately both sold out from our Etsy store yesterday, but you can always request custom order, and they’ll be ordered for you.

And don’t forget to use the code “Ilina15” in order to get 15% on your next order from A2Z Scrapbooking store. If you like something and don’t see it in the store make sure you do “request custom order” and it’ll be ordered for you 😉

For my card I stamped the background stamp with versamark on Pool card and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I trimmed it. I die cut the sentiment (I applied stick it adhesive on the back for easy adhering to my card). Then sponged it with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I adhered it to my panel and then onto my white card base. Added White Crystal Nuvo drops as finishing touch.

Scroll down for full list of supplies.
