A Hero Arts Retailer

Rosy Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday! Today I wanted to show you a tag I created to decorate a plain white gift bag. I used my new silver embossing paste and my Starry Night stencil and I love the look of them together.

I started with a preprinted rose tag from Prima and used a plastic knife to scoop out the embossing paste and to push it through the stencil. The knife had ridges but I loved the texture so much, I left the ridges in the stars. You can see the ridges in this picture.

Then I used my Borders stencil for the large circles on the bottom left of the tag and spread the embossing paste left on the knife to make some ridged silver areas on the tag. I added some Glitz washi tape and a silver glittery one that doesn’t leave glitter bits around.

For the final touch, I made a felt rose by cutting a spiral into a pink felt circle and then rolling the felt from the outside in and added grey felt leaves. You can see a tutorial on felt roses on my blog here. I used glue dots to secure the flower to the tag.

Hope you try out some stencils soon but be prepared to get caught up in trying different materials and ideas. I used up a whole afternoon playing with my Hero Arts stencils!

And don’t forget to join our July Linky Party for a chance to win a gift certificate to a2z here.

Thanks for stopping by,
