Hello Everyone! It’s Lisa here today to share a new card that I hope will inspire you to take part in our July “Linky Party” where our theme for this month is “Anything Goes”. We would LOVE to see what you create and hope you will use some of the products from the a2z Scrapbooking Store, although that is NOT a requirement to enter.
I have used a variety of products from the store, including some of my favorites. With it being a gorgeous Summer week here in New England, I’m really wanted to create a card that reminded me of Summer and that’s when I came up with the idea of creating a bright summery background to use with one of my new sets of Hero Stamps. This set is called “Hello Sunshine Daisies” and I think the name fits perfectly. I also think about the wild daisies the grew in my next door neighbors field when I was growing up. It was a huge area with nothing but daisies that grew there every year. My Mom used to love it when we would pick her from fresh daisies and our neighbors were always happy to share!! This set reminded me of that fond memory and that’s another reason I chose it for today’s card.
I started this card by pulling out a piece of Hero Arts Watercolor Paper, along with my Hero Arts Watercolor Wheel and an aqua marker. I used some blue painter’s tape to tape off a section of my paper and began filling in that area with a combination of yellow and orange watercolors. I used my Heat Gun to dry things a bit between layers and then finished off my new background with a fine mist of Perfect Pearls. I put that aside to dry while I worked on the layers for my card. I created my card base with some of Hero’s Sunshine Layer Papers and then added on a piece of “black” textured paper that’s been in my stash for ages. I then used my Lil’ Inker Designs Stitched Dies to cut another mat from the Sunshine Layering papers and added that to my card with foam tape. Once my background was dry, I used Black Versafine Ink to stamp on my Daisy and matching leaves, and then chose the “Thanks a Bunch” Sentiment, also from the same set. I heat set that all my with heat gun again and then using the same stitched dies, cut it down to the right size to fit on top of the last later of my card. My final touch was highlighting my image with a “Black” Wink of Stella Marker and adding three black pearls.
Before I go I wanted to remind you all that a2z is currently hosting a Design Team Call, and you can find all the details on that HERE! You still have a few more days to apply before the deadline, which is Midnight EDT on July 15th. Good Luck to all.
It’s also bittersweet for me to tell you that this will be my last “Official” blog post as part of the a2z Design Team. My term will be ending at the end of the month and although I will have more on my blog, this is my last post here! I want to take a moment to thank Elizabeth for this fabulous opportunity. It’s been a pleasure to be part of her team and I’ll look forward to following the blog and welcoming the new team members, very soon! I know I’ll also be shopping at the store and will look forward to seeing you there too!! Thanks to all the Design Team members for all the friendships and kindness that has been extended to me during my time with the team. You are a very talented group and I’ve totally enjoyed creating with you all! Thanks a Bunch!!
