A Hero Arts Retailer

Watercolor Smiles

Hi, it’s Chark again (just in time for Shark Week!) and I have some fun products to share. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with my triangle background die by Hero Arts. It’s the perfect size for a card front and it’s so versatile that I can’t quit making things with it!

IMG_1953Today’s card came together quickly. I die cut the triangle background in white cardstock. I took a piece of watercolor paper and used my Tombow markers to “paint” it in a pastel rainbow.

After it dried, I adhered the die cut to the watercolor panel and filled in some of the triangles with Diamond Stickles. I tried my Wink of Stella glitter pen, but it was a little too opaque. Maybe I didn’t shake it enough.

IMG_1956I didn’t love the glitter pen by itself, so I added Diamond Stickles on top of that too. If you look closely, you can see the difference between the white-looking glitter pen and the Stickles that just sparkle without any added color to the paint.

I stamped the Smile sentiment from the Be Happy stamps and stapled some different papers together. The string circles were hard for me. I couldn’t figure out how to make them look casual and still pretty like so many people do. Eventually, I just stuck them down behind the sentiment.

Hope you can try these products soon…I’m really glad I got the die and I can’t wait to try the little images that came with these great sentiments. I’ve listed below all the products I’ve used.

  1. Chark, I love what you’ve done with the triangle die. Great card!

  2. I have to admit I don’t’ get the whole “Shark Week” thing, but I do get your card design and think it’s awesome! This is one of the few Hero BG stamps that I don’t’ own, but every-time I see it, it seems to be calling my name, as if it needs to come home with me!! One of these days I just may have to order it! Thanks for some fun inspiration!!

    • 🙂 I don’t actually watch the shark week shows, but my local cupcake shop makes cupcakes with fins this week, so I’m happy to celebrate it! I highly recommend the die–it cuts beautifully and there are so many possibilities!
