Simple Cards

Hello! It’s Kathy here today and I’m so excited to share some simple cards with you for my first post as a Design Team member.

For my first card, I used the Missing You set. This is one of my all time favorite Hero Arts sets. I stamped the sheep and moose on white cardstock, colored them with Copic markers and then cut them out. I don’t have the dies for this set yet, but I’m hoping to get them soon. That will save me some time because I won’t have to do any fussy cutting. I added Glossy Accents to their eyes to give them some dimension. I also stamped the sun on patterned paper and cut it out. The sun is from the You’re A Rainbow stamp set. I stamped the balloons on patterned paper and the star on glitter paper and then paper pieced them on the card base. The grass was cut with a Fiskars border punch.

I decided not to put a greeting on the front of the card, but to stamp it on the inside instead.

My second card uses the Hero Arts LOL stamp set and the Missing You set. I stamped the iPhone in black ink. I then used one of the sentiments from the Missing You set and stamped them inside the texting bubbles. I had to mask off parts of the sentiment so I could stamp it in two separate text bubbles. I then stamped the heart using the Pale Tomato mid-tone ink and cut out the phone. I also put a layer of Glossy Accents all over the image so it looks shiny like a real cell phone. I stamped the squirrel, colored him with Copic markers and then cut him out.

The background layer of the card is an older Hero Arts stamp, called Large Canvas Stripes, stamped with white ink on kraft paper.
