Having Fun with Stencils

Hi everyone,

It’s Barb here today, and I have a few cards to share with you using some of my new stencils:

Merry Christmas - 9-12-14

For my first card, I used the Circle Christmas Tree Stencil. I inked the circles with Mint Julep Shadow Ink, the plant pot with Hero Arts Silver Shadow ink, and embossed the sentiment from the Merry Christmas Trees set (which is retired). I also added the diagonal stripes by stamping Thin Stripes from Impression Obsession, and mounted everything on to a red card base.

Thanksgiving Blessings

For this card, I inked a section of the Hero Arts Bubble Confetti Stencil with Shadow Inks (Butter Bar, Orange Soda, Pumpkin Pie), then created a vellum tag and embossed the sentiment and leaf in white EP from the Thankful For You stamp set.

  1. Hi Barb == I think both your new Christmas Cards are very cute and I really like the two fun designs you shared. I also somehow missed that cute new “Confetti” stencil, so I’m happy that you used it today! Your enamel dots looks wonderful too and I am so happy you taught me how to make my own! Hope you have a fabulous weekend and I’ll catch up with you after I am back. I’m hosting a Giveaway on my blog, while I’m in San Diego, so stop by and feel free to let others know. The post starts on 9/17!! See you the in the new class too…although I ‘ll be away during the first week, but I’m sure I can catch up! !

  2. these are so fun with the circles! and your inking is fab!

  3. both cards are wonderful Barb – you’ve given me some inspiration for the christmas tree stencil – bought and never used it (dumb eh?) – but especially love your second card – so elegant in gold and vellum!

  4. Hi Barb, love your cards. I have to get my stencils out and try them.

  5. Hey Barb! I love your Christmas card. You did an amazing job with that stencil!! I totally love your second card. I think I might have that stencil. I have to try this. You amazed me.

  6. I love what you’ve done with the stencils Barb! Both are beautiful cards!
