A Hero Arts Retailer

Thanks a Bunch….

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here from Kreative Kymona, with a fabulous Thank you card, that combines two Hero Arts products, which is what our current challenge is all about!!

Guess what I’m using, the same stamps that I used on my last project.  I love these stamp sets and I wanted to show you a different way you can use the same stamps.

The difference this time is I’m not coloring the flower, I’m coloring the card stock to match my flower.  Yes, color your cardstock!!  I love this technique.

Take a look:

color cardstock with ink

(Sorry for the blurriness, I was hand holding the camera and shaking was inevitable.)

Whenever I don’t have matching cardstock to go with my inks, I create it myself by coloring the white cardstock with that color ink.  In this case, Hero Arts Orange Soda.

Now take a look at the card I created:

Thanks a Bunch

I needed that cardstock to match the edges of my flowers. Now are you wondering how I was able to get my flower to have a darker edge.  Well, this technique isn’t new, its the Rock n’ Roll.

I stamped my flower image in a lighter color ink which is Hero Arts Butter Bar and then rocked the edges of the flower in the darker color ink which is Hero Arts Orange Soda.

For the card base, I stamped the flower with Hero Arts Soft Granite Ink to cover the entire card front.

I stamped the flower on the white cardstock a couple of times and layered it on top of my created Orange Soda cardstock.

I stamped an extra flower, fussy cut it outs and adhered it to the front white card panel with foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment using the same Rock n’ Roll technique as well to keep everything constant.

I added Hero Arts Diamond Gems to the center of all of my flowers. I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the cut out flower.

There you have it.  The same supplies-different card!

What do you think? I hope you decide to give these techniques a try!

The items I used for my cards can all be found at the a2z Scrapbooking Store. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used please head on over to the store and use the coupon code KYMONA15 to get 15% off your purchase.

Hello, I’m Kymona Tracey. Who am I, you ask? I am a women who never slows down and loves it. Yes... I am the energizer bunny's sister! I just keep going and going (which is something that I am working on, if you follow my weekly wishes on my blog). I am a single mother of two wonderful children who are 8 years apart. My 16 year old son is a true self-made jock who plays every sport you can think of ! My 7 year old daughter is a real life princess who loves anything crafty and girly and absolutely hates anything related to sports. Talk about yin and yang! ...but I love it!! Besides running from one activity to another with them, I work full time at a hospital (public health background), facilitate a reading group at work, teach high school students on the weekends and have a huge love of learning new things. I’ve taken classes in photography, web design, knitting, scrapbooking and card-making. I love them all, however, my true passion is card-making. I was introduced to card making back in 2004 and haven’t turned back since. I started out as a hobbyist just making cards for family and friends. People were always ecstatic when they received a card from me. What they did not know was that it made me feel just as special to make a card for them. This passion pushed me into teaching card-making classes at work with a couple of coworkers who wanted to learn how to make projects for their families. In September 2013, I made a big leap and created my blog, Kreative Kymona. Besides being a mom, I think that this has been one of my most rewarding accomplishments. Just being able to share with my world community makes life so rewarding!
