Hi, everyone, it’s Chark here today to showcase a card I made with the digital Poetic Petals set from Hero Arts. It comes with four blooms but I went with this sunny-looking flower. I colored it to look like a Black-Eyed Susan or a Coneflower.
I’m not a huge digital designer, but I find digi stamps to be easy. I just open the file and print the image I want on my laser jet printer and get coloring. Plus, they’re instant downloads, so you can create within minutes of purchase—no waiting on that mail carrier!
I love text paper in projects, so I inked the edges from a stash I have and added it here.
I chose watercolor paper for the left panel and used the Hero Arts borders stencil and silver embossing paste. Then I used the Hero Arts Neon red ink pad to swipe over the dried embossing, directly onto the paper. The silver took on some of the pigment and is a soft red/copper now…which I really like. The neon ink soaked into the watercolor paper and became very rich-looking.
For the flower, I used Distress Inks in Barn Door, Marigold, Mustard Seed and a bit of Lemonade. The flower stem is Shabby Shutters and the center is Vintage Photo. I used a lot of ink to make it more intense. I didn’t use any water to dilute or spread the ink. Then I fussy cut the flower and popped it up with dots. The ribbon is from a friend and the gemstones are from Hero Arts.
I love the richness of the colors for fall and I love the ease of the digi stamps. This stencil is a nice one too, because you can get a lot of different looks from one stencil.
Hope you’ll join in the Anything Goes challenge this month…don’t you love an open challenge like this? Makes me want to make something crazy! 🙂 If I do, I’ll make sure I post it here first!
Happy Sunday!
