Can you believe it’s Christmas already?! Where did this year go?
I do hope you and your families are having a wonderful holiday together. I had to sneak in one last Christmas card before the season is over. I mean I’m posting on Christmas how can I not post a Christmas card, right?! Right.
I started by stamping my holly leaves onto some white card stock. The holly berries in this set are separate and I was feeling lazy so I didn’t mask them. When I inked up the leaves with Memento Tuxedo Black. I avoided the center so my berries could fit in the middle. I just drew the leaves back in with a black pen that is Copic friendly. I did color the images in with copics and then outlined the images with my black pen. I used a stitched square die to cut a section out.
I wanted the card to be a little more interesting so I used my stencil with some aged mahogany distress ink to create a tone on tone base. I used a stitched circle die to cut out my sentiment. I stamp all my sentiments in archival ink because it gives a more crisp image. Why do I mention it? Well…after I stamped it I decided I wanted to color in those outline letters. Archival ink isn’t copic friendly. You can make it work if you’re very careful. Also I tend to “pat” my ink versus swiping it. Add some stickles to the letters and put it all together 🙂
Thanks for dropping in to visit on your holiday!
Don’t forget we still have a challenge going on until December 31. The theme is watercolor and we hope you’ll join us!
