Watercolor Valentine

Hello Crafters!

Today I wanted to create a card that went along with our current challenge, using something new to you. I decided to make a valentine of sorts. While I love the newest Hero Valentine release I haven’t gotten my hands on any of it yet. I super love the tiny heart background. Can you say versatile?! My favorite kind of stamp. Emboss resist, tone on tone background, add texture to a die cut. I could go on and on. 🙂 Aren’t stamps like that awesome?!

However, I don’t have it yet so let’s talk about what I do have. The Good Luck Cling set. I’ve had it for a while now but just couldn’t find a way to use those bold sentiments in a way I *loved* I mean we’ve all made a card where we think “this sad little sentiment isn’t enough to balance my design.” This set is perfect in those times. I decided I was going to use it. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Here we go 🙂

I’m actually pretty happy with it. I did a bit of abstract watercoloring on my watercolor paper using Peerless. That pink is so vibrant. I die. I stamped the love sentiment in black, because well, I love black and brights colors together. The butterfly is from an older set that is timeless. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it. I watercolored the butterfly too then trimmed it out. I did add just a bit of detail with my white gel pen and some shimmer with the clear Wink of Stella. Both the sentiment and butterfly were added with dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you find something new to you to play along with 🙂

XoXo

Hi guys! I’m Kelly. I’m married to a wonderful man named Craig and we have a gorgeous two year old son who is the light of my life. I can’t leave out our boxer/mastiff Molly who is my little one’s best friend. I’ve been cardmaking for about seven years and running my blog for around five. I am loving every minute of it! I’m a huge fan of clean and simple cards. I adore a good one layer card or building a scene. Also glitter, and lots of it
