A Hero Arts Retailer

Triangles

Hello, Sarah here!

I just wanted to share a few cards that I have made whilst playing with the fabulous Triangle stencil.  Stencils are so versatile and these triangles suit so many designs and techniques – including embossing which is the theme for this month’s challenge.

I simply inked randomly through the stencil with versamark and white embossed it on watercolour card.  I then wet the card and used distress inks (Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn) to create the watercolour look.  This is so simple but creates a really effective background.  I just added a white embossed sentiment to complete the card.

I made a second card in different colours to give a completely different look:

I inked through the stencil in Ripe Persimmon, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks, fading out towards the centre.  I love the sense of movement that these triangles create.  I then used a bold sentiment as a focal point.

I like to make a background stencil or stamp the star of the show every now and again – with different techniques and colours they can really shine.

  1. Fantastic cards Sarah….I love how you used the same stencil, but created two totally different looks, simply by changing ink colors and where you applied the colors! Super Creative and the perfect design to use for cards that can be used in many ways!

  2. really love how these turned out–the blue and green is my fave, but then I’m partial to those colors 🙂

  3. Great technique for these modern, beautiful cards!

  4. I need several of these for my Mom! With the handels they would be portable and make traveling with her various projects a lot easier. She has been known to bring as many as 6 quilts with her on two day trips. She keeps things in various reusable bags which means she carries around a lot of bags and is always forgetting something!

Thanks for taking the time to comment...
