A Hero Arts Retailer

Poppies, Poppies, Poppies!

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today and if you know me, you know I like all things Wizard of Oz...Including poppies, like this digital stamp from Hero Arts. There are actually four different types of flowers, but this one called to me. So, of course, I colored it red to match the poppy field in Oz. I did not fall asleep like Dorothy, though. (wink!)

I picked a red scalloped card I had from a bargain bin somewhere and added my stenciled piece. I used red Distress Ink with my Starry Night stencil in a portion of the cardstock. And I used blue Distress Ink with the Arrow Pattern stencil in another area. I just love this Arrow stencil…I find myself going back to it again and again.

IMG_5893I used my Prismacolor pencils for the flower and then added a striped ribbon at the stem. Oh, and I added some fun enamel stars to the star-stenciled area. I only used some of each stencil and faded some areas out by using less pressure when applying the ink.

Hope you’ve been enjoying the stenciled projects all month. I know I’m learning a lot from the design team. If you feel inspired, why don’t you enter our April Challenge here and try to win the $25 gift certificate to the store? Hope to see your projects soon!

Happy Friday!
