Hi, friends, Chark here today to share a New Beginnings card to match this month’s challenge. I decided to make a graduation card for a friend’s daughter. I used my brand-new stencil and a favorite butterfly stamp. For the butterfly, I stamped with the Hero Arts Neon Red ink on vellum and then used the Hero Arts Neon Yellow to color the back of the butterfly.
I just bought these great paper flowers from Hero Arts too…they are very similar to the Prima flowers, but they come in fun patterns. You also get a variety of sizes and shapes and they are just $3.95 a pack! I also got the white/cream flowers and added a couple of those to my blush pack. The happy stamp comes with a die, but I wanted to leave the inside of the letters, so I just trimmed it with scissors. It’s really versatile and comes with a lot of small additional words, like “birthday” and “wedding day.”
I fussy cut the butterfly and then attached to a panel I made with the stencil on watercolor paper. I used my Tombow markers as watercolors after letting the embossing paste dry. I added glitter with the Wink of Stella clear glitter marker. Gorgeous shine, minimal effort! Maybe you can see the shine in the close-up.
The papers are from Crate Paper (Maggie Homes) and are really beautiful and match each other perfectly of course.
