Aloha friends!
Niki G. back with more ideas on how to create texture for our latest challenge!
I had the idea of stamping on cork to create a textured scene.
The Hero Arts in India Ink black (a very solid black ink) worked perfectly on the cork.
I stamped out that sweet fox from Hero Arts Playful Animals, colored in a white tail using a Signo Uniball gel ink pen and
added some pink cheeks with a copic marker. To create a solid black edge I used a black copic and ran
the tip of the copic marker around the edges of the image. You can see the difference in the outter edge
of the fox tail vs. the rest of the fox. I thought it gave it a more finished look.
For even more texture I used the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Background stamp
heat embossed with Hero Arts clear embossing powder.
To put the scene together I die cut some blue colored cork from the DCWV Brights Cork Stack
using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Journaling die. Of course the fox needed some grass to stand in
and that was die cut from Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Border.
I found that glossy accents worked best to adhere cork to the card panel and each other.
For added dimension foam tape was used on the box and balloon sentiment.
The balloon was created from the Hero Arts Friends by Lia. The image is just a circle
inked in Hero Arts Ruby to Royal Red ombre ink and I added the word
“friend” from the Hero Arts Color Layering Graphic Flowers. Some black twine tied in a bow and then
tied to the fox’s tail completes the scene.
Here’s a side view to see all the added texture to this card…
I hope this inspires you to play along with us!

What a great idea. Looks fantastic and the fox looks great and I bet the cork feels fantastic. No one could NOT touch it.
Love the card.
