The Quick and Easy Shaker

Aloha friends!

I’ve been loving the entries so far in our latest challenge

Shake It Up!

There are so many different ways to make a shaker card, but today I wanted to share

a quick and easy way to get that fun shaker card made in a jiffy!

Today I’m using Hero Arts Kelly’s Outline Letters.

I love how fun this set is, but I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant.  I’m not the best with customizing sentiments

and making sure the letters are straight and evenly spaced, but here’s a

TIP: use the grid that the stamp set comes with! Or use any type of graph paper to help align everything!

This was a lightbulb moment for me…haha!!

I took heavyweight cardstock (110lb) and die cut a window using a stitched rectangle die.

Then lined up all my alphas (using the grid) to stamp out “CELEBRATE.”  The “E” was tricky, but I just left

enough space to stamp where it was needed.  “YOUR DAY” was stamped out at once.

Of course it’s not a Niki G. card without Hero Arts ombre inks

(Pink to Red, Butter to Orange, Mint to Green, Pool to Navy, Lilac to Grape Purple)

to add color to the letters.

I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point so I used the Hero Arts Grey to Black ombre ink to

add some pizazz to the frame.  I thought the little fill in shapes would be perfect

and really liked using them like confetti!

Now for the shaker part!  I used some plastic packaging (you know the kind we all accumulate

from buying tons and tons of crafty products!) and die cut a rectangle slightly larger to cover the window.

(using a die cuts right through both layers of the plastic packaging

to create the sandwich you need to put your shaker bits inside).

I added some mini silver stars from my stash and used washi tape to adhere on the inside.

That completes my card!!  I like these kinds of shaker cards because they go through the mail with ease

and I don’t have to worry about the bulkiness in the envelope.
