Happy Birthday – Simple Masking Technique

Hi Everyone! Kristina here again with another fun masking project!

Hero Arts Make A Wish Birthday
I love the way masking makes an image appear as it was one single stamp!
when I got this set the first thing I wanted to do was put that hat on a cake!
A little silly, I know 🙂

To put the scene together I laid down the plate, then the cake, then the hat overlapping the cake and picked all three up onto my stamp block, then carefully peeled the cake off without moving the other two images.
Inked and them both, and stamped the hat off onto a post it note to cut out a mask.
With my mask covering the hat, I lined up and stamped the cake and candle.

My background was created with some small circle stamps and assorted inks to create the look of confetti, and my sentiment stamped on vellum, is embossed with gold embossing powder.

There’s still time to enter our February Masking Challenge! I’d love to see what you come up with! Link it up for your chance at a $25 gift card to the store!

  1. Oh what a fun design!! So cute to have the party hat on top of the cake, and I really like the colourful polka dots in background!!

  2. Totally fun scene – love the hat on the cake and your “confetti” background is fantastic.
