A Hero Arts Retailer

My Everyday Life

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here with another Masking technique to share with you. Today I created a card using the new stamp and cut set Butterfly Pair from Hero Arts. In my project I only used the stamps but I love to have these kind of sets where you have the coordinated die cuts  because you have more options in your hands.

My Everyday Life

To make this card I used a masking technique combined with watercoloring. First I stamped the butterflies over the watercolor paper and then I covered all of them with Fineline, a masking fluid pen. After the masking liquid was dry I applied different colors of distress ink with aqua painters around the butterflies until I had the pattern that I wanted. I waited until the paper was totally dry before removing the masking fluid.

My Everyday Life

For the base of my card I used Basic Black card stock and for the second layer I used Pear Pizzazz card stock. I pasted a black mat behind the decorated piece before pasting this over the bases. I stamped my message using one of the sentiments included on the stamp set My Everyday Life, that is now on SALE in our store.
