NOTICE: It looks like we’re having a bit of trouble with our InLinkz Link-up on our blog. It seems to have a mind of its own and disappeared from the side-bar. However, it found a home on the first day of March here. The DT are trying to put it back where it came from, but until you see it in the usual place on the top right side, you’ll be able to enter here.
Good morning crafty Friends!
Amy here with a lil’ card using some Mixed Media Techniques and the versatile Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch set and matching Hero Arts Color Layering Bird Frame Cuts.
I started with a 5 inch squared piece of Mixed Media Cardstock. I layered Distress Inks (Wild Honey, Broken Glass and Abandoned Coral) for my background’s first layer. Next, I layered stencils (TCW Well Rounded, TCW Cubist) using Seedless Preserves and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. I spritzed with water for another layer.
Next, using my Misti, I started on my layered bird. I used Hero Arts Lemon Yellow Mid-tone Ink for my base, then used Hero Arts Red Royal Mid-tone Ink for the second layer. Hero Arts Navy Mid-tone Ink finished off the third layer of the bird. I used Hero Arts Brown Bark Dye Ink for the legs. I then cut them out using the coordinating Hero Arts Color Layering Bird Frame Cuts to cut out the lil’ guy.
I layered some black and neon pink cardstocks and adhered my Background piece. I then stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch set with Hero Arts Black Dye Ink. I attached the birdie with 3D foam tape and added some white enamel dots from my stash.
I also stamped the flowers from the set onto the inside using Hero Arts Soft Lilac Shadow Ink and Hero Arts Grape Juice Mid-tone Ink and cut it out with the coordinating die.
