Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to show you a Clean And Simple card I made with a dry embossing technique with stencils. It was easy and makes those stencils even more useful. I didn’t get messy with embossing paste or inks but I got to use the design for my background.
I used a technique I learned from Shari Carroll’s video here. You simply use your plastic stencil with your cutting machine plates and thin foam (I used an embossing foam mat, shes uses an old, thin mouse pad). The layers she used were cutting platform, plate, foam, stencil, paper, foam, plate. You can get more details in the video. I only had one piece of foam so I used a squishy piece of cardboard for the other layer. It worked just fine.
Here’s a close-up of the texture and you can also see the shimmer on the heart from the metallic gelatos I used.
The heart die cut is from the So Sorry Stamp and Cut set and it’s one of those versatile sets with a few different-sized heart dies.
For this one, I scribbled green and blue metallic gelatos on an acrylic block and then used a good deal of water to make a painted watercolor heart.
For the little heart inside, I used my silver Stickles and left the heart for the focus. This could be an engagement card, baby card or even a sympathy card.
Hope you’ll join in our monthly challenge by using your Hero Arts products for the main elements and following the CAS (Clean and Simple) theme. You could be the winner of the $25 gift certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking store!
Happy Tuesday!
