It’s an ANYTHING GOES month here at a2z Scrapbooking. Sometimes that makes things easier and sometimes I just like a bit of direction with a specific challenge – what about you?
I started by stamping the butterfly “inners”. I decided that I would have 3 butterflies on the left, with slightly different orientations.
Then, I added the second layer to the butterfly by aligning the stamp over the initial stamped “inners,” trying to keep an even border around.
This is what the card looked after this second step.
Next, added the butterflies body and antenna. When stamping, I tried to keep the “head” slightly above the body.
It felt that I need to add something more, so I cut out masks from yellow post-it notes and covered the stamped butterflies.
Oops – I forgot to take a picture of the next steps. I added the sentiment from the same stamp set. With ink blending tools and tumbled glass distress ink, I added color. The masks were required so that the broken china color didn’t cover the stamped butterflies. I removed the masks and then added a bit of broken china on the edge of an acrylic block. With a water brush, I flung ink splots (is that a real word?) over the card in a random fashion.
