Hello crafty friends… It’s Helen here today wanna share you a fun project with Hero Arts Stencil Sets. On today’s project, I use Hero Arts Chevron Stencil Pair and Hero Arts Floral Filigree Stencil Pair.
Before get to my project, I’d like to remind you that you still can play along with our challenge this month. The July Challenge is Anything Goes that means you can link up any projects you created with any Hero Arts products.
Now to my project… Lately I have been playing with my Gelli Plate to create monoprint backgrounds. The one I have is the 5×7 plate. And I used Plaid FolkArt acrylic paints and pulled the positive and negative prints for each stencils. I ended up with 8 different prints. I tell you, this monoprinting is fun and addictive 😀
First, I added the paint on the Gelli plate and used the brayer to spread the paint all over the plate. Since it is acrylic paint, you need to work pretty fast because acrylic paints dry quickly.
Second, I added the stencil on the paint, then the paper. I used the brayer to push all over the back of the paper. If you do not have rubber brayer, you can use your fingers to rub the paint all over so the paint transfer to the paper. This is the first print.
Then, lift up the stencil off the Gelli plate, and added the next paper to pull the second print of the plate.
I did the same steps for all four stencils. I cleaned my plate with baby wipes. Easy pease 🙂
Below, I made a slide show to show how I created these mono prints.
Here’s a card I created with two of the monoprints that I did with two kind of gold paints. I die-cut the prints with Fancy Frame Dies.
The sentiment I used is Hero Arts Bold Peace wood stamp. I stamped it on a white cardstock with the 2 tone Hero Arts ink pads that came in one of the My Monthly Hero Kits. Then I fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors. I finished the card with some Hero Arts – Hero Hues Gems.
