Hero Arts Coffee Cup tag & Mini Succulent cards

Hi friends – WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND! Hope you are doing great! This month, we are focusing on tags – such a fun and simple challenge. Be sure to share your creations with us HERE, we love seeing what you create, just be sure to have a Hero Arts item as your main focus to qualify for the monthly prize!

I made a couple succulent mini cards (eekkk…see that dirty spot on my acrylic block – UGH, not attractive for the pictures eh?) and a coffee cup tag too. But seriously, those mini cards are pretty stinking cute I think; just perfect for a quick note to tuck into a lunch box, stick on a gift card, or a gift bag! And that coffee cup tag, look at those faux coffee circle stains, I love the dimension they add to the tag! I made them using THIS stencil and the matte transparent texture paste, and since it’s transparent, the sponging of distress inks really made them pop off the tag. cup-of-cheer-full-blog

I added some ink smooshing behind the cup!

The succulents were colored with Distress Crayons; I die cut each succulent shape from a folded piece of card stock allowing the hinge (opening) at the bottom, then cut the front panel from a separate piece of water color paper, stamped the image in Hero Arts Intense Black, colored and adhered to the front of the die cut. Quick and easy – can’t beat that!mini-succulents-open-blog

The coffee cup was stamped with two colors of red ink, I used a wink of stella for some shimmer; the reds ran a bit but that’s okay, I didn’t mind. I colored the top with Copics and added some white enamel accents for faux sprinkles. I used the largest Hero Arts Infinity tag for the base, added the stencil and texture paste, sponged on some distress inks, mounted the focal piece with fun foam on top of some scrap die cut circles. Easy peasy – I added another tag to the back, stamped a sentiment and left lots of room to include a message. I colored some red and white twine with a Copic to make the white a brown.
