This month at a2z Scrapbooking our monthly challenge is
Sometimes I love having a theme or sketch before starting a card and sometimes I just like creating without a prompt. Which do you prefer? This month, I had an idea that of course, fits with this month’s challenge of Anything Goes. What often happens, is I have an idea and it doesn’t fit with a specific challenge and by the time an appropriate prompt comes along, I’ve forgotten what I was going to do!
I knew that I wanted to try an emboss resist card. I’ve seen a lot of them recently and was inspired by them.
Here’s my card
I started by using the largest flower, stamping with Versamark ink, sprinkling on clear embossing powder and heat setting. I find that if I’m trying to stamp multiple images on my card, that I stamp, sprinkle on the embossing powder so that I can see where each image is stamped and can better place the next stamped image. I used distress inks (picked raspberry, blueprint sketch and mermaid lagoon) applied with ink blending tools to add the colour. After I gave the ink plenty of time to dry, I added the sentiment with silver embossing powder.
Here’s a close-up
I trimmed the panel down slightly, so that when applied to an A2 card, the panel had a narrow border. I added some sequins for a bit of sparkle.
We’d love for you to join us this month for our Anything Goes challenge. Please remember to use a Hero Arts product as the main focus.
The a2z Scrapbooking shop at Etsy is a great place to purchase Hero Arts products. When your cart is over $25, use my code Sue15 for a 15% discount.
