Hero Arts Large Hydrangea in a Mug

Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today for the last day in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I hope you’ll join in and link your coffee/tea/cocoa project over at the hop to try to win one of several great prizes, including $25 to the a2z Scrapbooking store!

Today I used my absolute favorite flower stamp right now, the Hero Arts Large Hydrangea Wood Stamp. I have two hydrangea bushes at my house and love when they bloom. One bloom fills the vase and that was my inspiration for this card.

I heat embossed the stamp in white and then used Twinkling H2O paints to paint the flower and leaves, love that these paints leave a little shimmer. I added some dark centers with a Zig Clean Color Violet Marker and added some water. I used a cocoa mug die from Gina Marie (that I won last hop!) to use as a vase and slid my trimmed hydrangea into the cup. Then I stamped on the greeting and added some shading to the coffee cup with a paintbrush and Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.

I used the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies from Hero Arts to cut out a large oval to frame the flower and cup. The frame was smooshed (learned from Jennifer McGuire) with Distress Inks before cutting. I also used some pinks to smoosh more paper and then die cut little Easter eggs from the same Infinity Oval Dies.

The Nesting Dies are so versatile and you get a million for $24.95. Okay, not a million, but 18 ovals and that’s a great deal! There are also other shapes of nesting infinity dies and we have the 10 Heart set on sale right now in the store…but there’s only one available, so if you’re thinking about, jump over here to get it first!

Of course, I had to break out some glitter and I went with Pink Stickles for the little eggs.

That’s it for me today, but don’t forget, we have 3 Ways to Win $25 to the a2z Scrapbooking store this month!

  1. You can enter a card at the Spring Coffee Hop and link it up and hope your name gets chosen by Amy and her crew.
