Hi there!
I’m here with my first ‘official’ post as an a2z teamie, and I couldn’t be happier.
It’s officially winter here so I’ve been huddled in my track pants thinking of flowers blooming, but honestly enjoying the cold (I’m one of those weirdos who loves the cold).
Today’s card has a bit of a story behind it, let me tell you my mini-saga.
So I bought this set several months ago, maybe even a couple of years, when it first came out. I coveted it for what felt like, an age. I stalked other people’s use of it, pinned a thousand cards, got excited when it finally arrived, then could never make it work. I tried multiple times, I stamped and I stamped….
Yesterday, at my wit’s end, I created this, and again, had to fight with it. Until suddenly the proverbial lightbulb appeared over my head.
I’d been stamping the leaves instead of the flowers. Pink leaves. For months. For MONTHS I’d been stamping the leaves thinking they were long petals, and couldn’t for the LIFE of me figure out what the heck I was doing wrong. Seriously. I wonder how I tie my shoelaces some days.

see anything wrong with this picture?!
Anyhoo, once my brain cells actually started to work, I managed to make this, which I’m actually pretty darn happy with
I took a piece of Neenah cardstock cut to size, and ran it through my die-cutting machine with the mini triangles die from Hero Arts, then adhered the entire thing onto my cardbase of pink cardstock. Next I took some Cotton Candy ink, and sponged it over the panel, in the bottom right corner, fading upwards.
I stamped my Orchids using Cotton Candy ink (base level), Pale Tomato Ink (middle layer) and Raspberry Jam ink for the darkest. The leaves used Pastel Green, Soft Olive and Evergreen inks (all Hero Arts).
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the same set, using white embossing powder and black cardstock and fussy cut it out before adhering it. I finished the card with some pale pink sequins from Neat and Tangled (but you could definitely use one of the Hero sets)
It was super simple to make and came together quickly (once I got over that pesky stamping the leaves as petals thing LOL)
I hope you enjoy this card!
See you again soon–Happy Crafting!

The leaves look great in pink! Sure, they’re not orchids, but I think they’re flower-like. Love your card!
