One Layer Thanks

Good morning everyone – it’s Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts here with my last post as a Design Team member. It has been a wonderful year filled with meeting wonderful people and I’ve enjoyed it greatly. My card today combines stenciling and one-layer stamping to say ‘thanks’.

2015-11-29 13.55.12

I went with a rainbow of colors for my confetti stencil, then topped it off with a sentiment from the Thanks Stamp & Cut set. A black card base really makes the colors pop!

2015-11-29 13.56.02On the inside, I used another sentiment in the set and the little stars to jazz it up. I love how all-inclusive the stamp sets are, you really can make a card with just one set if you choose.

Remember, today is the last day to enter our November One Layer Challenge for a chance at that $25 gift certificate to the store! Nearly all of the supplies I used are available in the a2z Scrapbooking shop – if something is missing, just hit ‘request a custom order’ and they’ll hook you up! One Layer Ornament

Good morning everyone – it’s Jennifer from Caffeinated Papercuts here to share a fun one layer card with you. You know how some stamp sets come with adorable little accent stamps? Me, I enjoy adding the accessories or decorating the tree with the ornaments, but usually don’t know what else to do with those tiny stamps. Well thanks to a healthy Instagram feed one day, I came up with this pretty one-layer idea for you:

2015-11-15 09.48.28

An ornament out of ornaments! I simply created a circle mask to stay inside of my desired lines and then went to town stamping ornaments, stars, and polka dots from several different stamp sets. I love the non-traditional colors of blues and greens.

A bit of shimmer, some rounded corners, and this card was all set. I do hope I’ve inspired you to stretch your tiny stamps and join in our November One Layer Challenge.

Supplies used: Hero Arts Family and Friends, Hero Arts Under the Mistletoe, Soft Navy Shadow Ink, Soft Pool Shadow Ink, Green Hills Shadow Ink, and Lime Green Shadow Ink.

Sending Joy

Good morning everyone – Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts with a glittery card for this dreary day before free candy day!

I love stretching my stamps and dies, so I came up with a card that could easily be either a non-traditional colors holiday card or a pretty pick-me-up, just because card. Don’t you love versatility?

2015-10-30 08.49.52

Taffy with grays with teal glitter paper, oh my! A little tone-on-tone stamping makes for a background with a punch.

2015-10-30 08.50.06

The ‘Joy’ was simply diecut from some teal glitter paper, and the ‘sending’ stamped in a darker gray. Round a couple of corners and off to the mailbox you go!

Supplies Used: Hero Arts DC169 Joy Stamp & Cut, Hero Arts CG638 Basic Grey Spice Market Cling Stamp Large Petal, Hero Arts Blackboard Ink Cubes

Scandinavian Christmas

Hey there everyone – Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts to help you get a jump-start on your holiday cards!

Yes, I said holiday cards…but let’s face it, if we don’t start them now, they’ll never be done in time for December. At least that’s how it goes around here!

When the beautiful Scandinavian Holiday stamp set came out, I couldn’t put it in my shopping cart fast enough. See, I married a Viking, so we have the real candle holders that match this set grace our table every holiday. So lovely, and we always look forward to seeing what critter a new family member will receive!

2015-10-21 08.22.00

I inked up the horses in Red Royal Shadow Ink to match our set and added some shine to the candles with gold Stickles. The sentiment is from an older set and I used Cup o’ Joe Shadow Ink to match the card base I created.

2015-10-21 08.22.49

I also went over the detailing on the design with a white gel pen to add a little more interest to this one-layer wonder. You see a bit of blue there as I was drawing on how ours look again. So fun to personalize cards this way!

Of course, I couldn’t stop at just one…

2015-10-21 08.23.23

Hehehe, all I changed up was the candle colors from card to card. Makes it fun!

If you’re not quite ready to think about the holidays yet, be sure to embrace all things Fall and play along with our current monthly challenge!

Glittery Garden Hello

Hello there everyone – Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts here to add some sparkle to your day! I don’t know about where you live, but here it’s been pouring rain for two days straight. We even lost power at work this morning for nearly three hours. Yuck! I needed something to cheer me up, and this card was just the ticket:

2015-09-30 07.51.25

The last throes of summer in a card; glittery florals and dancing butterflies. Sigh. I used one of my favorite stencils, the Hero Arts BasicGrey Floral Vines for the background and some pink glitter embossing paste. Wowza – talk about glitter without the mess!

2015-09-30 07.51.50

For the butterflies I stamped one of the Stamp & Cut Butterflies (which are on sale – you’re welcome for the enabling) in black ink then heat set it with clear embossing powder. The matching die made it easy to quickly cut them out and pop them onto the flower garden. To finish it off, I clear heat embossed the little ‘hello’ sentiment that comes with the set in the corner and popped my panel onto a navy card base.

2015-09-30 07.51.34

Nearly all of the supplies I used are available in the a2z Scrapbooking shop – if something is missing, just hit ‘request a custom order’ and they’ll hook you up! While you’re at it, feel free to take 15% off your order of $25 or more with coupon code JENNIFER15. And don’t forget that we are onTwitterInstagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Welcome to our stop on this Coffee Lovers Bloghop! I’m so excited to be posting for a2z Scrapbooking today. For those of you not familiar with the shop, it is a fantastic Etsy store that carries a huge variety of Hero Arts products – brown ombre ink and coffee stamps, anyone? 🙂

In the fantastic owner’s own words: a2z Scrapbooking is proud to be a premier Hero Arts Retailer. Our Etsy store carries an extensive array of Hero Arts  products and we love special orders. Our company, which is run by volunteers, was founded in 2007 in an effort to raise funds for Celiac and Behcets awareness.

Better still, we’re offering up a $25 gift card to the shop and $25 worth of digital images as prizes this hop! Two of you are going to be very happy crafters indeed!!

Me? I’m Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts and a very proud Design Team member of a2z Scrapbooking. Oh hey, be sure to check out our monthly challenge while you’re here; it’s all about shaker cards this month! Mmm, coffee shaker cards…speaking of cards, I have a fun one for you today, something we’ve all probably done; texted for coffee!

2015-09-25 07.54.01

I know I easily have those days where nothing but coffee will make it better…LOL I stamped up the fun cell phone image from the LOL stamp set and added in my text bubbles with Cornflower Blue and Tide Pool Hero Arts Shadow Inks. For my coffee images I used the Hero Arts Coffee and Latte kit and then made the ‘screen’ by coating the white section with Glossy Accents. Then I let it dry for a few hours…it was worth it!

2015-09-25 07.54.23

Just look at the shine! I can see tucking a gift card in here and sending it to a friend having a bad day. From there assembly was simple; some pretty paper layered on top of a Wet Cement note card and this card was done!

Nearly all of the supplies I used are available in the a2z Scrapbooking shop – if something is missing, just hit ‘request a custom order’ and they’ll hook you up! While you’re at it, feel free to take 15% off your order of $25 or more with coupon code JENNIFER15. And don’t forget that we are on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

I Like You a Latte

Hey everyone – it’s Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts, and I still have coffee on the brain! The Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop starts next week and rumor has it a2z Scrapbooking is one of the new Super Sponsors…but you didn’t hear it from me…so today I have a coffee shaker card to help you get ready for the hop and join in the September Shaker Card Challenge!

2015-09-15 08.10.10

I just loooove that coffee stamp set! And yes, I totally used my brown ombre ink on the mug again, as it is just awesome. I also made my own background papers again; the Punch note card is stamped with Cup O’Joe and the older Basic Grey Amore background stamp.

2015-09-15 08.10.28

The Wet Cement note card that forms the base card I stamped with Wet Cement ink and the gorgeous new Branches Bold Prints background stamp. To give my card front lift I used some Fun Foam that I also die cut with the heart to make my shaker container. Overall pretty quick & easy!

2015-09-15 08.10.41

I used some chunky glitter and deep brown seed beads for my shaker filling – looks like sprinkles on top of a latte!

Now’s the time to stock up on your supplies for our Shaker Challenge and the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop. Be sure to request any out-of-stock items in the store and take 15% off your order of $25 or more with coupon code JENNIFER15.

You’re My Cup of Coffee

Hey everyone, it’s Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts. Around here, coffee is a necessity of life. It is the magical liquid that turns “stay away from me” to “good morning, dear”. So really, this stamp was perfect for me!

2015-08-30 11.35.56

I kept it CAS and made my own background with one of the new stencils and the transparent embossing paste. Love how it came out! Then I grabbed the brown ombre ink pad (because, coffee!) and inked up the ‘you’re my cup of coffee’ stamp for the middle.

2015-08-30 11.36.14

A little fussy-cutting and foam tape and this card was done. The stencil really adds some texture and the stamp in ombre just adds a pop of fun. Remember that you have today and tomorrow to link up to our August challenge of Texture!

A Little Hello

Hello there everyone! Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts and I love this month’s challenge of Texture!

Now, you’re probably expecting that I broke out the texture paste and whipped up something awesome, and you would be half right – it’s awesome. I had a stencil in my hand when I remembered that the town was flushing the hydrants and, therefore, I had no water to clean my supplies with! Oops…so plan b was created, and for those of you who don’t have texture paste or the like, this card is for you!

2015-08-15 Jen Hello Card

Embossing powder to the rescue! Between the heat embossing and the twine, this card is full of texture and less messy than paste. Well, except when you spill powder all over…so I hear…

Now, a small disclaimer – both stamp sets I used are out of stock in the shop. I know, I know…I always manage to do that to you guys! But fear not, just hit the little ‘request custom order’ button in the shop and they’ll hook you up. Ok? Ok. Be sure to check out the new holiday stamps while you’re there, too, because OMG are they amazing! JENNIFER15 gets you 15% off your order of $25 or more, remember…all right, back to the card! **Update – the gorgeous background stamp is back in stock! Woohoo**

I started with some Pool layering paper and scored it at 5.5″ to create my top-folding card. The BasicGrey Bold Flower Pattern background stamped was inked up with VersaMark and heat embossed with the Hero Arts White embossing powder, which is truly my favorite white powder ever. While my powder was out, I stamped the ‘hello’ tag from the Little Tags set onto a scrap of gray cardstock and heat embossed it as well.

So all the white you see here is embossing powder, and the blue peeking through is the Pool cardstock. I wish you could feel this, it’s really amazing. You’ll just have to make one yourself and see. 😉

2015-08-15 Jennifer embossing

Once I had everything heat embossed, my card was nearly done! I trimmed out the tag and used a small hole punch to use it as an actual tag, then wrapped the hemp cord around the card and knotted it. To attach the tag, I looped more cording through the opening and then tied it around my string bundle, giving it that cool double-knot look. A bit of dimensional tape behind the card and it was done!

2015-08-15 Jen embossed hello card

Honestly, it took no time at all to make. Like I’m off to make a full set of these cuties to have on hand! I hope this gave you a different idea of how to add texture to your card – I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Butterflies in Flight

Hello there everyone! Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts with a CAS butterfly card just perfect for our July Challenge. For those of you not quite sure what CAS (Clean And Simple) cards are, they typically contain a lot of white space and minimal stamping and/or embellishments. Sounds easy, but they can often be harder than you think!

For my CAS card, I grabbed the Stamp & Cuts Butterflies set and some white cardstock to create a flock of butterflies in flight.

2015-07-30 08.48.12

See? Lots of white space, minimalist styling, but still pretty. I used the amazing Light to Dark Peach Ombre pad on my big butterfly, then coated him in sparkle embossing powder and cut him out with the matching die. Just because we’re going CAS doesn’t mean you can’t have sparkle! 😉

2015-07-30 08.48.35

The little butterflies I simply stamped with some complimentary colors – Butter Bar, Soft Apricot, and Bubblegum. After that I simply added the sentiment, popped my 4″x5.25″ white panel onto a pink card base, and was done!

2015-07-30 08.48.31

Now, the butterflies are out of stock again, but don’t fret – just hit the “contact the shop owner” button on the left-hand side of the store page to request it! The supplies I used are listed below – be sure to use code JENNIFER15 for 15% off your total purchase of $25 or more in the shop. I cannot wait to see all of your CAS creations – remember you have through tomorrow, July 31st to link up!

Happy Crafting!
