Miss You Shaker Card

Hi there ~ It’s been a while since I posted a project, and I’m excited to be back today to share my Shaker Card with you:

HERO ARTS SHAKER - 9-2015

I apologize for the dark photo. I had to turn off the flash on my camera to avoid a glare with all the sequins.

So, I created my shaker card by die cutting the elephant and adding one layer of foam adhesive, then two layers of foam tape. I like a CAS design, so I added white, clear and blue small sequins, stamped the sentiment and added a sparkly heart from my stash…Lastly, I mounted everything on to a blue panel, and that was it! Shaker cards are really fun, and I enjoy sending them to my granddaughter (she’s 9 years old)!

Don’t forget to check out this month’s challenge HERE, and visit the a2zScrapbooking Store to do some shopping! And of course, you are always welcome to use Coupon Code BARB15 for 15% off your order of $25.00 or more, before tax!

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ Have a great day!

Hello!

Hi everyone,

It’s Barb here with another card I created using my Hero Arts Stencil, ‘Bubble Confetti’:

APRIL 18 - HELLO

I started by dropping color randomly with my water color paints, and once the panel was dry, I dabbed the stencil in select areas with white pigment ink. I also die cut some circles in various sizes to create a Bokeh effect. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and added a few vellum butterflies from my stash…and, that was it!

We would love for you to play along in  This Month’s Challenge for the theme: “Stencil”! You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25,00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store with each entry.

And, as always, you are welcome to use Coupon Code BARB15 for 15% off your order of $25,00 or more (before tax) in the a2z Store. Enjoy

Hello everyone,

Barb here with a card featuring the Hero Arts Deco Design stencil. I love the clean, modern lines on the pattern and can’t wait to have a play using embossing paste. Here is my card:

Enjoy - April 3

I started by stenciling the background with Hero Arts Soft Pool ink. I stamped the vellum tag with white embossing powder, and added a few clear sequins. Lastly, I added the twine bow, a few DIY enamel dots, and matted the panel on to a card base…and that was it!

Miss You!

Hello everyone ~

Barb here with a new card I created using my Copic markers to color in this sweet little guy from the new Hero Arts stamp set called, Baby Animals! Here is my card:

Miss You

I started by stamping and die cutting the image onto white cardstock, then coloring him in. I added some glossy accents to give him a shiny nose, and popped him up on to the circle die cut. This set comes with the sweetest sentiments, which also happen to be perfect for cards I send to my granddaughter, so I chose ‘miss you’. I also like to use the small ‘accent’ stamps that come in stamp sets, so for this card, I stamped the hearts in pink to create the background. I added some twirled silver thread for fun, and matted the white panel on to a gray card base…and that was it!

We would love for you to play along in  This Month’s Challenge for the theme: “Color It In”! You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25,00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store with each entry.

Color It In with Copics

Hello everyone ~

Barb here to share a card I created using my favorite medium…Copic markers:

a2z Memories

I wanted this beautiful flower to pop, so I started by embossing it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder, then coloring it in with Copic markers. I also wanted some softness on this card, so I inked my Border Stencil with Hero Arts Soft Pool ink and stamped the sentiment.

Thinking of You

Hi everyone,

Barb here to share another card with heat embossing:

Thinking of You

I started by creating a mask for the flower, and stamping it with black Versafine ink along the bottom and side of the card. Each time I stamped the flower, I quickly sprinkled clear embossing powder and heated it to set. Once that was done, I stamped the sentiment the same way, then colored the flowers with my Copic markers. The butterflies have been in my stash for months, so I inked them direct to paper with Hero Arts Butter Bar ink to match the center of the flowers, and that was it!

We would love for you to play along in  This Month’s Challenge for the theme: “Emboss It”! You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25,00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store with each entry.

I’d Never Forget You

Hi everyone,

Barb here again with a card I created using a Hero Arts stencil and embossing paste;

a2z - FEBRUARY 3

I started by spreading embossing paste through the Two Way Arrows stencil on to a white panel, and let it dry. I stamped the elephant and sentiment with Versamark and sprinkled them with white embossing powder. Then, I shaded the elephant’s ear with tide pool shadow ink to add definition, and added glossy accents to the red hearts. Lastly, I placed silver thread behind the elephant and popped the sentiment up with foam tape.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

It’s Barb here sharing two cards that I created using a ‘new to me’ technique called ‘Baby Wipe Stamping! Back in June, I saw a Video by Ashley Cannon Newell demonstrating this really fun technique, and thought I would try it. Here is my first card:

Cheers a2z - 1.18

I used three colors of Distress inks, added splatters of Hero Arts Silver and Pool Spray Mists in opposite corners, and added a few stars. If you would like to try this technique, check out Ashley’s video…it was very easy and a lot of fun!

I had quite a bit of color left to play with, so I created a second card:

Special a2z - 1.18

I thought this etched flower from the ‘Butterfly and Flower’ stamp set would look really cool multi-colored, and I’m happy with the way it turned out. The leaves are from the ‘Things We Love’ stamp set, and I chose them because I think they have a lot of personality. I popped the flower up with foam tape and added the vellum sentiment, which I embossed with Liquid Platinum.

The Best Kid Ever

Hi everyone, it’s Barb here with a new project!

I love trying new techniques in my paper crafting, so this month’s challenge theme (New to you) is a perfect opportunity to do that. So, I decided to try ‘Double’ partial die cutting…here is my card:

Best Kid - January 11

I started by stamping and die cutting the images, but leaving their feet (or are they paws?) attached to the card base. Then, I partially die cut the circle and cut the remainder of the opening with my Exacto Knife.I inked the background with Soft Pool Shadow ink and colored in the bears with my Copic markers. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and added a few silver stars from my stash. You can click on any of the photos below to link to the supplies I used to create this card.

We would love for you to play along in  This Month’s Challenge. You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25,00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store with each entry.

Trying Something New

Hi everyone,

Barb here to share a card I created trying something new! A few weeks ago, Laura Bassen  shared a card using a technique called Camouflaging Die Cuts, and later posted a  video on You Tube demonstrating this technique, so I thought I would try it myself. Here is my card:

Shine Brightly final

I used my Hero Arts Shadow Inks and Uppercase Alphabets for the technique and did selective inking for the embossed sentiment from ‘Written in the Stars’ stamp set. The alphas were die cut once out of the panel and 4 times out of white card stock and adhered together for one thick piece that was fitted back into the negative space. I love how it adds so much dimension to the card, even with all that white space. I have included an “Inlinkz” product list at the bottom of this post to link you to all these supplies!

The theme for This Month’s Challenge is ‘Use Something New to You’, and we would love for you to play along! You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25,00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store with each entry.

And, as always, you are welcome to use Coupon Code BARB15 for 15% off your order of $25,00 or more (before tax) in the a2z Store.
