Hero Arts Holiday Animals + WCD Giveaway Winner!

Hi Everyone, Kristina here today playing along with our Watercolor Challenge for the month of October.
I decided to pull out the Hero Arts Holiday Animals stamps and dies and go to town.

Hero Arts Holiday Animals Card

I started with a a2 sized panel of watercolor paper, and did a wash of 3 different colors of ranger distress ink. While that dried I cut out a few snowy hillsides, and stamped and colored and cut out a bunch of images from the Hero Arts Holiday Animals set.
After my watercolor panel was completely dry, I stamped a few trees from the set to stage a background, and then arranged my images, and lastly stamped my sentiment and embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I trimmed everything down and mounted on a regular a2 sized note card.

And now for the fun stuff!! A big congrats to Beverly Jordan! Thank you everyone for hanging out with us on World Cardmaking Day. Beverly, watch your inbox for an email 🙂

Hero Arts Paper Layering Dove | Merry Christmas

Hero Arts Paper Layering Dove

Hero Arts Paper Layering PineappleHi Everyone, Kristina here today with my CAS(e) a Designer creation! I choose to case Niki and her super cute paper layering card here

I love that she used a sentiment die overtop the paper layering, I never would’ve thought of it. I get pretty intimidated with the paper layering die, but I actually whipped this card together quick quickly using Niki’s inspiration.

I started with a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 3.75 x 5.5 and ran it through my Big Shot with the Hero Arts Paper Layering Dove. While the big shot was out I cut the Merry sentiment from some scrap foil paper I had, as well as some snowflakes using the new Snowflake Confetti die (very versatile, see how I use the negative space here). I arranged and adhered everything where I wanted, added a strip of matching foil paper down the side and mounted on a grey a2 sized panel. Lastly, I put the whole thing in my MISTI to position and stamp the rest of the sentiment. And there you have it!

Hero Arts Snowflakes and Holly

Color Layering with Hero Arts Holly and Snowflakes

Hi Everyone! Kristina here today playing with some goodies from the Hero Arts Holiday Release!

Hero Arts Snowflakes and Holly

I started but cutting the Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti die from Neenah solar white cardstock, and trimming it down by 1/8″ on all sides. I wanted some blue wintry contrast, so I mounted it on some blue bazzil cardstock.

Next I stamped two of each stamp from the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly stamp set. For the leaves, I stamped the first layer in Hero Arts Green Hills ink, the second in Lime Green, and the last layer in Cup of Joe. I cut all the images out using my Brother Scan N Cut, but you can also get the coordinating dies.

To finish the card I got everything set up where I wanted it, and used Press N Seal to hold it all in place while I slowly adhered each piece, more on this technique from Laurie Willison / Jennifer McGuire on her blog here.

After everything was assembled, I stamped my sentiment in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and embellished with some sequins, and the confetti from the snowflake die.

Birthday Fishes | Hero Arts Puffer for You

Hero Arts Puffer to You

How cute are puffer fish? They’re up there with sea horses on my favorite fish list, all though I don’t think I’ve ever seen a puffed puffer, have you?

I used the new Hero Arts I’m a Puffer for You stamp set to create a a bright and cheery underwater scene. You could totally use a rainbow of non-traditional bright / neon colors for the fish, but I loved the look of the orange yellow so much I went with it for all of them. After I stamped and colored all the puffers where I wanted them I arranged a semi-random pattern of waves and bubbles, before stamping and heat embossing my sentiment on top. To finish I splashed some wink of stella droplets over the whole thing for a glimmering water look. A full list of supplies used can be found below.

Hero Arts Killer Messages | Ink Blended Scene

Hero Arts Killer Messages

Happy Sunday everyone! If your anywhere near the midwest and getting this heatwave, I know what you’re doing today….. Crafting! I’m all for summer and heat, but 91 and 91% humidity, no thanks.

Anywho, So I got my hands on the new Hero Arts Killer Messages set, this is one I picked mostly for the sentiments. I LOVE the sentiments in this set. The Fonts, The Sayings, To die for (pun intended). It’s one of those that would be great for making a bunch of the same card and just swapping the sentiments, because there is one for every occasion.

For this card, I wanted to get some very subtle waves, but didn’t have any stencils so to start I just cut out a wave pattern on some paper and started randomly ink blending until I liked the look. I was going to leave it at that, but decided to do a sky background so I just hit it with some Lemon Yellow and Orange Soda ink very lightly with my Clarity Brushes. Next, I aligned and stamped by sharks in Hero Arts Intense Blank Ink. Finally, for my sentiment I stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with some Hero Arts White Embossing powder. To finish I look my clear wink of stella and splattered it all over the card front.

Until Next Time…

Hero Arts Dress Up | Have a Beautiful Birthday

Hero Arts Dress Up Stamp & Cut

Hi friends, Kristina here with a birthday card using a fun new Hero Arts stamp & cut. I was super excited when I saw this release, how cute is this stamp set?

I love that you get multiple face options depending on your mood, two different girls and a ton of fun sentiments!

For my card I die cut a rectangle postage stamp and stamped my images, then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I die cut the skirt, and made little folds along the embossed lines made from the die. For my background piece I stamped the Hero Arts Confetti background stamp in Tide Pool ink. After assembling everything together, I mounted it onto a white a2 sized card base, and added some wink of stella fun all over her skirt.

Below I’ve linked all supplies used here, most can be purchased in the a2z scrapbooking store AND hows about 15% off?!? Just use my code KRISTINA15 at checkout on orders of $25+. Looking for something you don’t see in the store? Use the request custom order button to make a special request.

With Sympathy | Hero Arts Color Layering Fuchsia

Hero Arts Color Layering Fuschia

Hi Everyone! Kristina here today playing with the new Hero Arts Color Layering Fuschia. These are up there with one of my favorite flowers. We get several hanging baskets of them each year, the colors are gorgeous and the hummingbirds eat them up! I debated doing a card with just a bunch of them cascading down from the top, which I think would be really pretty, but for today went with something a little cleaner.

I started with a white cardstock panel & used my clarity brush to blend on an ombre of purple inks, and then trimmed down with a rectangle die. For the fuschias, I die cut a circle and did my stamping directly onto it before adhering to the panel with 3d foam. For my sentiment I die cut one last piece, and stamped/embossing in white. Attach everything to a card base and there you have it!
