Deco Pattern Stencil w/ Artistic Dahlia & Love Stamp and Cut

love you more wm main

Hello, it’s Angie here today with a curve shaped card using some fun Hero Arts products! Shaped cards can be intimidating if you don’t make them a lot but if you want to join in the challenge this month, you can easily do that by making a regular shape card, then die cutting one or both sides of it with a scissors or use a border/edge die.  Just make sure you use one main Hero Arts product too!

For this card I stamped the Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia on Gina K Designs Premium card stock, then stamped a 2nd one for a mask.  (If you haven’t had a chance to try this Gina K Designs Premium card stock – it’s amazing!  So thick and smooth – it’s perfect for stamped images, and so nice to color on – nothing bleeds through.  It’s such high quality that it give your cards a very professional look and feel!  A2Z scrapbooking now carries this in the store!)  Sorry about the detour – now back to the card…..

I covered the flower, then added the Hero Arts Deco Pattern Stencil over the flower and used some really light inks with a sponge dauber.  I started on the mask and made that the darkest and faded out as I left the flower.  Then I colored the flowers with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  After that I cut the “Love” from Hero Arts Love Stamp and Cut set from the front of the card and from black fun foam.  I mounted a piece of black card stock behind the card front, then adhered the foam “love”, followed by the colored “love”, offsetting it just a little to the right so the black foam would peek through.  I stamped “You More” from the same stamp set on black and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder, then cut it into a little banner and popped it up on foam dots.

Now here’s where the fun shaping happened!  All I did was take a couple of edge dies and used a curve one on the right side and a straight one on the left side and ran them through my Big Shot.  Lastly, I added Nuvo Jewel Drops for added interest.  Ta-da, you have a shaped card!  I hope you will find the time to enter our June “Take Shape” Challenge!  See details below!  My supplies list is also below.

Kitchen Silhouettes Gift Card

gift card wm main.jpg

Hi everyone, it’s Angie today and I have a quick and easy gift card holder to share with you today.  I used a digital set for this card:  Kitchen Silhouettes – available exclusively at a2zscrapbooking store!

I wanted a give a gift to a friend who has been very helpful!  I used the “You” from a Thank You die from Hero Arts.  There was a stamp set from a Hero Arts kit a few months ago, that went with it and that’s were the “are the best” came from.  Here’s a link to the Thank You die-cut.

I pulled different stamps into a word document and made them a lot smaller, then I printed it out and cut it with a gift card die.  I put the “You” on it then stamped the rest of the sentiment and it’s complete!  Super fast!

What a fast card!  Digital stamps are especially great when you are in a hurry!  I think I will be using these fun cooking/kitchen digital stamps a lot, especially for when I give homemade goodies away, or invite friends over for dinner!

I hope you will find the time to join the “Sentiment Focus” Challenge this month!  You could win a $25 gift card to the a2z store!

If you need supplies, even ones you don’t see in the store, you can special order them at a2z!  And don’t forget if you spend more than $25 (excluding shipping), you can use the code Angie15 to save 15% on your purchase!

Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia So Lovely

Hi there, Angie here with a card using two of my favorite Hero Arts stamps!  I used the new Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, then fussy cut it before adding it to a striped background.  (There are matching dies available and they are really cool!)  The sentiment is from Hero Arts “Your So Lovely” stamp set, heat embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder and cut with a scalloped rectangle die.  I popped it up for a little dimension.

I hope you will be able to enter the a2z scrapbooking “Use you Favorite Hero Arts” product Challenge for April and be eligible to win the $25 gift certificate.

If you need Hero Arts supplies or any craft supplies (you can special order them through the a2z store) and use “Angie15” to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping.)

Hero Arts Paper Layering Favorites

Hi everyone, it’s Angie with this post for our April Challenge “Getting to Know You” where you use some of your favorite Hero Arts products.  I love the paper layering dies that Hero Arts makes and I was thinking of other ways to use them to get more bang for your buck!  I decided to use them to dry emboss card stock!

I was experimenting with some of my favorite paper layering dies from Hero Arts.  I used them with an embossing mat in my Big Shot to make impressions on the card stock.  Then I swiped ink pads across the impressions.  Then I actually did die cut them after they were inked and they turned out pretty cool looking!  Here’s the hummingbirds I embossed.  I ended up not using them but did use the paper layering mum die with the ombre spring brights ink.  After I cut the layering part, I cut the whole flower out with a larger circle die.

I mounted it on a black circle die cut then popped up the layers.

Then I inked some woodgrain vellum with black ink and put it on a black card panel.  I added the mum offset and then mounted it all on a white card base.  I trimmed the edges of the mum and added the black paper layering hummingbirds and the sentiment (from Happy stamp set) heat embossed in white.  If you look at the picture on the bottom right below, you can see how the swallowtail butterfly paper layering die looks embossed with the die and inked, before I cut them out.  I really like the way embossing, then inking, then cutting makes the die have little white edges on the cuts.  Lastly I added diamond gems for their eyes and the flower center.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can also use the code “Angie15” to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

a2z Scrapbooking has a TwitterInstagram and Facebook pages. Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any of the promotions!

I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge this month! You will have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store! One lucky winner will be announced on May 7th.

Good luck and please come back again soon!

Grateful Paper Layering Hummingbird

gratefull paper layering hummingbird wm main.jpg

Hi there, it’s Angie here with a card featuring the new Hero Arts Paper Layering Hummingbird die.  I love hummingbirds so when I saw this new die set, I just had to get it and I’m so glad I did!

This card was quick to make, just stamped some flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts “Let Love Grow” set (in Distress Oxide inks) and cut a strip of black to mount the strip on.  I die cut the bird and used the same inks on him, added some black with a black marker, and added the Hero Arts “Grateful” rubber stamp sentiment on a scalloped oval die cut that was inked with the same inks.  I put it all on the card base and was done in no time!

Swallowtail Butterfly with Ombre Spring Brights

swallowtail wm main.jpg

I had so much fun making this card using a new Hero Arts Ink Ombre Spring Brights on kraft card stock.   I swiped it down a piece, then die cut the Swallowtail Butterfly and also used it to stamp the flowers and leaves from the Let Love Grow stamp set.   I also used a little white ink for accents, black ink and some circle dies to frame the sentiment which is also from that same step set.  I finished it off with some diamond gems on the butterfly.  Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Paper Layering Daisy Hello

paper-layering-daisy-wm

Angie here today with a fun card with lots of red on it for our February Challenge!

I copied the technique Jennifer McGuire recently showed in a video.  I varied it a little by cutting the daisy out of the center, and popped the daisy and the sentiments  up on fun foam.  The little black notes are a tiny punch I have in my stash.

I used Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy, Hero Arts Hello stamp and die set, Hero Arts CG691 Garden Bold Prints background stamp (out of stock but you can special order it), Hero Arts White Embossing powder, white and black card stock, Hero Arts Red Ink.

I hope you will have time to join in the fun for this month’s  challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.
