You make my world…

Hello beauties!

Zoey’s again here for a card that might be great for the coming up Valentine’s day!

It is not really all hearty and red and all of that, lol, but still I think it would make a cute Valentine’s card for maybe your best friend!

What I used is:

Hero Arts Stencil Tile Works
Hero Arts Written in the Stars
Hero Arts Card Earth
Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder
Studio 490  Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste

I also used some gesso and some old book pages.

The technique I used for this card is our monthly challange theme!
I love embossing, but I realize that I don’t do that really much, so it was nice to grab out the embossing powder and have some fun!

I stitched the pages on the side just to give a little of interest, I added gesso and then stamped the Stars from the  Written in the Stars stamp set. I then poured over some Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it!

I also added some texture through my all time favorite stencil… I love that stencil so much!

Then all I did was glueing everything together!

Here’s what the card looks like , I will give it to my best friend!

Stay happy, stay creative…till next time!

Masculine Thank you Card with Zoey

Hello beautiful people,

it has been too long since my last post here, I have been missing you all!
I travelled to California for CHA at the beginning of this year and I had the extreme pleasure to stop and make some make and takes at our loved Hero Arts Booth!

It was so much fun!…but then I came back home and I got sick again, I contracted Bronchitis while at CHA so I have been sleeping almost everyday…LOL! Anyway, enough sad parts.. I already bored you enough!

Now….for the fun part!
I made this super easy peasy card because we all know that we NEVER have enough Thank you card, am I rite!?

To create this card you will need:

….and here how I made it!

I started off by adding through the Hero Arts Stencil Tile Works a bit of Ranger Texture Paste and I let it dry very well.

Then, for the background I did a huuuuge mix between Hero Arts Passion Flower Spray Mist and Hero Arts Pool Spray Mist but since the mix wasn’t coming out as I wanted, I decided to play with my favorite Hero Arts Watercolor Wheel to achieve different color shade. I love how they all blended so well.

I have to admit that it took me a bit of work, but only because in my idea I was going for a color that reminded of sea (go figure? lol)…but at the end, I loved the result!

Mixed Media, Cardmaking, Zoey

Mixed Media Card

I also added few splashes of color here and there to create a bit of movement in the card.
I stamped my sentiment from the collection Hero Arts Be Happy CL606 (THIS IS ON SALE!!!) over a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock and I fussy cut it then adhered to the background adding also a small bit of thread.

With the Kuretake Zig Photo Signature Pen Black I scribbled around the border and with the Zig Memory System Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush I added some sparkle to the background.

Mixed Media Card

And there you have it, a quick Thank you card that I think it would be perfect for a masculine card…what do you think? Before leaving you, let me as always remind you few things….

  1. You still have time to join our monthly challange! This month’s theme is “new to you” – read more about it HERE
  2. We are on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook , so please follow us on these different social media outlets so you will not miss out any fun event or promotions!

Gift bag

Hello lovelies!
Zoey’s here with a super quick idea for packaging a gift for a friend.
Here’s what we will need:

Stamps :

Inks/Colors :

Stencil/Paste :

Embellishments :

  • Twine

I covered a small tag with a piece of Basic Grey Paper from the collection “Soleil” , I ripped the borders and then I glued the paper to the tag. I stamped my flower from the stamp set “Hero Arts Making the world a better place” . I love this flower and I love this stamp set because it has the flower outline and also a stamps for shadow — which make coloring way easy! I colored the stamped image using daubers and water.

det1

I then stamped my sentiment over a piece of cardstock. For the sentiment i used a stamp called Hero Arts Be Happy , I love this stamp set for packaging because it has some cute sentiments that kinda look like washi tape! Check it out, IT IS ON SALE! I fussy cut it and the adhered to the tag using foam adhesive to give some dimension.

det2

I added Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Powder over my paper bag through the stencil Hero Arts Stencil Tile Works and I let it dry.
For the next step, make sure that the Embossing powder is well dry because I will then add water on it.
I also stamped few random flower stamp (from the previous stamp set) here and there to fill the spaces.

det3

I colored the background of the bag by adding water to the colors. I was looking for a watercolor kinda look.
I then added the tag to the paper bag with the twine.
And there we go a quick and easy packaging for a gift!

final

I hope you were inspired!

Few quick reminders for you!

Thank you

Hello sweet friends!

First of all HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone!
The whole a2z Scrapbooking Team wants to wish you a great and amazing Thanksgiving!!

Zoey’s here today for a card I made for a friend of mine. I am so THANKFUL to have her in my life, she is amazing.

Here’s the list of material I have used :

I stamped the flower over a sheet of Ranger Watercolor Paper  and then I added color using Hero Arts Watercolor Wheel and a fine point brush.

1

To add some texture , while the watercolor were still wet, I grabbed a piece of bubble wrap paper and placed it over the flower for a few seconds, then I lifted it and it left a cool texture!

2

To add even more texture I stamped the second flower (which is the same flower but it has shadows) – when stamping I made sure that the stamp was slightly off set.

3

Then I added more watercolor around the flower and set the piece aside to get really dry.
I added some Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste through one of my favorite stencil : Hero Arts Stencil Tile Works and I let it dry.
Note that I didn’t apply the paste perfectly on the paper!

4

I also added some more blue color on the background because it was looking…too white and not enough messy for my style…right? LOL!! So I added color and few splashes here and there.
To finish the card I traced a border around the card using Sharpie Retractable Fine Point Permanent Marker Black. And that was it — I used foam adhesive to adhere the flower to the background.
What do you think? I hope you will like it.. here’s some photo!

That amazing stamp set also has a message on multiple lines that I find PERFECT for the inside card.

Almost Christmas!

Hello beautiful people!!

Zoey here today to show you a really shiny Christmas Card!

I absolutely Love Christmas, I love eating Christmas dishes (here in Italy we have a lot of dishes that we cook only during Christmas time!), I love drinking hot chocolate, I love decorating my house, I love the smell of candles….I love everything but making Christmas Cards!

YES! You read it right, I do not like making Christmas Cards. Call me weird, call me anything, but Christmas cards are not my thing. BUT, there is a BUT….

I fell in love with this Christmas Stamp set by Hero Arts and I can’t stop making Christmas Cards now! LOL.

As you can see in my last post here the stamp is so unique and versatile.

For this card I only used one of the sentiments… So here is my supply list:

I cut from the Hero Arts Latte Layering Paper, a small tag shape . I added color using the Watercolor Wheel by Hero Arts and stamped over with the Hero Arts 19th Century French Script. To stamp this I used the Hero Arts Chalk Latte Ink because I kinda wanted the Tone-on-tone look with the background paper.

Tag

Then using the Sponge Daubers I applied the Unicorn Ink through the Stencil; that is one of my favorites- Hero Arts Stencil Tile Work . I love doing this because you add texture to the tag without adding bulk or modeling paste!

Stencil

What was left to do was adding the sentiment and heat emboss the Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder.

I did the same steps (except for the stencil) for the background.

Here’s the final project and some details!

Quick and Easy Christmas Card

Hello Lovelies!

Zoey’s here and I will show you this quick and easy Christmas card!

Product Used:

I applied the Hero Arts Gold Shadow Ink with the Sponge Daubers through the stencil Hero Arts Circle Christmas Tree Stencil. I love to use my stencil in different ways — Like this one for example. I use it to add some circles to my background.

I stamped my christmas decoration with the Hero Arts Blackboard Ink and then I fussy cut them. The first one I didn’t want a clear and perfect stamp, meanwhile the one that was going on the top I wanted it to be crisp and nicely stamped.

And then all I did was glue the circle I made with an old book paper and over it my two christmas stamps.

It was so quick and easy to make!

I hope you will give it a try!

Stay happy, stay creative…till next time!

Thinking of you

Hello everyone!!
Zoey‘s here today and I will show you how to achieve a simple mixed media card using products you can easily buy over our store .

To start with, I took one Hero Arts Snow White Folded Cards and covered the front panel with few stripes of painter’s tape. Then I took the first Hero Art Spray and poured a bit of it in a small cup and used it as watercolor with a flat paint brush .

step1

I kept adding colors and colors , always pouring a bit of the sprays into a cup and then using the brush to add strokes of colors. I used different sizes of brushes to get different texture. As you will notice in the next photo, the color soaks into the paper and shows where the tape is. I added more color using a fine point paint brush to accentuate the border of the painter’s tape.
Then, when the colors were dry, I added a small coat of gesso to mute a bit the colors.

step2

I grabbed the Hero Arts Pale Tomato Spray and added a big splash of color at the top of the card, then added water to make the color drips. I love doing this, I do not know why, but I just love drips! I also added some texture by using a stamp set. And…can I get your attention here? Do I have it? Ok. Listen, this is probably one of the most beautiful script stamp ever. I love it. The set contains more different types, I used the two showed in the pictures.

step3

Since I was  not happy enough with all the textures I added, I decided to add some more gesso to my background. To achieve this “messy result” I just grabbed a palette knife and added the gesso in a stroke motion (if that even makes sense? LOL – I’m Italian, please forgive me! But the photo should help !)

step4

I slowly let it dry with the heat tool making sure that it was not bubbling. When everything was well dry all was left to do was to add some splashes here and there with black and white unicorn spray.
I glued my center piece in this order: tissue paper, old book page , the heart (to color this I just added sprays and water), a piece of lint and then the sentiment!

What do you think of this card? Here’s are some details …

And here is the final card!

I really hope you will like the result and that you will give it a try !!

Packaging with Zoey

Hello lovelies,

guess who is back?! Meee  Zoey of course! Missed me?! I hope so because I surely miss you all so much!

Today I will show you a quick and easy way to package gifts – or anything in general! It really takes little time to make pretty little packaging and I really spent a lot of time on Pinterest before finding the one that filled my needs…and my primary need is: IT HAS TO BE QUICK! Yes I needed to scream that!

I love making little gift for the people that takes my class or simple gifts for when we meet with friends or even some RAK. It makes everyone happy, especially me!

I used for both packaging the same supplies :

Paper (I used pages from an old book) , Written in the Stars stamp set , Hero Arts watercolor wheel, Hero Arts India Ink Black and Hero Arts Twine. (Optional : sewing machine , washi tape)

FIRST IDEA

I cut two pages from the old book and with my water color wheel I added some blue color to mimic the sky.

NOTE: Since the book paper is really thin you might want to be extra careful when applying the watercolor (unless you add gesso first).
When the paper was completely dry, I stamped the star image, which is one of my favorite, using the India Black ink. I also added some second generation stamp to fill the background without making it too busy.

I stitched the two pages together around the border and I made a small folder. If you do not have the sewing machine, you can use washi tape or you can glue the sides together and then with a pen add some faux stitching.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and then I closed the little folder with some twine.
Time to make this package: 8 minutes

SECOND IDEA

I cut two pages from the book and again I added some watercolor from the watercolor wheel. I stamped my background Image and then I taped the sides of the two pages together with some washi tape. I folded my bottom part to form a bag and glued two pieces of twine to make the handle.
I made the little cluster and again as my sentiment I used a stamp from the same stamp collection.

Time to make this package: 5 minutes

2b 1b
I really took the time while making it because before I start a mass production I want to be sure 100% that it will not take me too much time!

What do you think!? I hope you will give it a try! Stamps are not only for cards!

2 cards 1 stamp with Zoey

Hello Crafters!

Zoey‘s again here! Today I want to show you how extremely versatile is the Hero Arts Basic Grey Grand Bazaar You Make me Smile stamp set! Let’s talk few seconds about this stamp set!
I love it because with one stamp set I am able to make a lot of things, the adorable sentiments are easily to adapt for any occasions and for any project!

Today I will show you how I created two cards.

The stamp set also contains few elements that can be really useful if you want to make a custom background….as I did in my first card!
For the base of my card, I used Hero Arts Watercolor Paper (PS626) – then I used Hero Arts Soft Brown shadow Ink Pad (AF170) one stamp from the stamp set and I created my background by stamping two rows.

I was REALLY happy to “find out” that the bubble speech is ONE stamp it self! So you can actually add any sentiment inside of it! Did you know that?!

Sooo anyway! For the sentiment I used Hero Arts Cup O’Joe Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and I used the same watercolor paper as the base. All was left to do was to add some doodling around the card and tie a bow with the Hero Arts Twine (CH264). And here’s some photo of the first card!
2
1

For the second card, I used again Hero Arts Watercolor Paper (PS626) but this time I also used Hero Arts Neon Pink Ink Spray (WM103) to create a watercolor background (sort of!).
I used the chevron stamp from the sameHero Arts Basic Grey Grand Bazaar You Make me Smile stamp set and the Hero Arts Neon Pink Ink Pad to stamp a line across the background of my card and I used the same color ink pad to add my sentiment. As you  can see this time I turned around the bubble speech!

Here’s are some photo of the second card!

2a

So what do you think? There is nothing I love more than use the same stamp for more than one project!
While I was making these cards, I also thought that this stamp set would be perfect for adding some sentiments to project life/pocket page or even scrapbooking page!

Kindergarten Canvas

Hello everyone!

It’s me Zoey again – this time I want to show you this canvas I made. In some countries in these days (maybe weeks?) kids had their come back to school…not in Italy though! Here kids start school in September. How I miss these 3 months off school! LOL

Ok back to our canvas!!

I took the inspiration from various pins I saw on Pinterest, I am sure that most of you have seen these pins with all the melted crayons and I wanted to give it a try!

The color palette was inspired by the photography I used.

I glued the crayons to the canvas and melted them with the heat tool, but since this was my first time melting crayons, I was afraid to melt the crayons too much!! So I didn’t let the crayons melt completely and I filled up the spaces that were still white some colors from the Hero Arts Watercolor Wheel.
If you are new to watercoloring , I would definitely suggest you to buy this wheel! I have mine since Hero Arts put it on the market and it still works amazing, colors are so bright!

I let the color dry – if you want to try this technique, just remember that you have to let everything dry without the heat tool because otherwise the crayons will melt again! (LOL guess who melted it two times? Me of course!)

The second step was to grab the Hero Arts Memories Unicorn White Ink Pad AF217  , one Sponge Dauber and I used the Sponge Dauber to apply the ink through the stencil – as you can see in this photo:

a2z_1

The Hero Arts Memories Unicorn White Ink Pad AF217 takes a bit to dry – so be careful! I love it because it is the only white ink I tried so far that it is really opaque!

Then I added the Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste through this wonderful stencil Hero Arts Numbers Background Stencil SA009. It is the perfect stencil for Back to School/School related projects!

a2z_2

Do you see these small circle in the photo above? Do you know what I used? I used again the Hero Arts Memories Unicorn White Ink Pad AF217  and the Sponge Dauber but this time I used a Christmas Themed stencil… Hero Arts Circle Christmas Tree Stencil SA005!

All was left to do was to adhere all the pieces to the canvas, to do that I used the Scotch Permanent Mounting Foam Tape .5” x 36 yards .

And here are the photo of the canvas! What do you think about it?

a2z_3
a2z_6
a2z_8

If you want to purchase the products I used to create this card just click over the link at the bottom of this post and use ZOEY15 to get a 15% discount (the code will work for any other products too!)

Do not forget that you still have plenty of time to join our monthly challange – theme is Encouragement!

Stay Happy, Stay Inspired!

Till next time , CIAO!
