Very thankful for you!

It’s Lisa here today, and I am very happy to be back from my medical leave and to once again be sharing a new card – created with some to the wonderful new Hero Arts products.  Today, I am covering for Zoey is who taking some personal time off after losing a her dear Grandfather.  Our deepest sympathy to her and all of her family.

Today’s card was inspired by our April Challenge where our theme month is “Stencil It”.   I started this card using the “Two Ways Arrow” stencil, along with some of Hero’s Gold Spray and a piece of Watercolor paper.    I adhered the stencil over the Watercolor paper with some masking tape, and the simply sprayed away.  I used my heat gun to too speed up the drying process and that put that piece aside.  Next, I created my card base with some “Sunshine” layering paper —  a great color for Spring and Summer.

I cut a banner strip from some Black Layering  and adhered that to the front of the card.   The next step was to stamp my “Sentiment” which is a new stamp that I love.   I inked up the stamp with Hero’s Black Ink and stamped it onto the “Stenciled” piece I had completed earlier.  I then Die-cut that pieced and using foam tape, popped it up off my card after adding three black gems.

Thankful....

To complete this card I used my Lawn Fawn Heart dies and cute the larger heart from the “stenciled” piece and then added a second smaller heart, cut from the leftover black layering paper.

All of the products I used are linked below and most are available now over that the a2z Store.   As always I’m happy to share my DT Promo code with you, LISAH15 which will save you 15% off any and all orders of $25 and up (excluding shipping)!!

I hope you’ll break out some of your Stencils and get to work on a project to enter our challenge.   Please be certain that your entry includes at least ONE main Hero Arts product  – Stamps, Dies, Stencils etc.

I love to Color!!

It’s one of my favorite ways to create and is always so fun and relaxing.   When I read that this month’s challenge was “Color it Up” I knew it would be perfect for me.

I started my card with one of my favorite Hero Art stamp sets (Making the World a Better Place), and a piece of watercolor paper.   I stamped this pretty floral image with black Versafine and broke out my Copic Markers – my go to color medium!   Once I finished my coloring I used a stitched die to cut out my image and layered it onto to shades of Bazzill Cardstock.  Next, using my new “Thanks” Stamp & Cut” die set, i die cut mu sentiment in “spearmint stick” cardstock.  I finished off my sweet little card by adding a bit of 3d Crystal Lacquer to my image, for some texture and shine, and then simply added a bit more sparkle with some matching Hero Arts gems.

Color It In

You’ll find most of the products I used for my card of at the a2z Store and I have included the links below.  You may also feel free to use my Design Team Promo Code LISAH15 to save 15% off any order of $25.00 and up (excluding shipping).

Life is Beautiful!!!

Hi Everyone, It’s Thanksgiving Eve here in the U. S. and I know that for many of you, this will be a very busy day of preparation and/or travel as your prepare to celebrate the “Thanksgiving Holiday” with your loved ones. For those of you who will be traveling over the long Holiday weekend, I wish you safe travels. And for those of you who are baking and cooking to prepare for your “Thanksgiving” meal, I hope you have fun and enjoy your time being creative in the kitchen. For those of you who are not livng in the U. S., I’m sure you may not know what this Holiday is all about. So, I thought I would share a LINK, to provide you with some history and background on our this very special Holiday, and of course, the true meaning behind it. I happen to live in Massachusetts, where the first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the first Pilgrim settlers and the Native American Indians, at Plymouth Plantation in Plymouth, Massachusetts, back in 1612.    It’s a day very rich in tradition and history, and is meant for us all to share our Thanks and Gratitude with our dearest family and friends.   I want to wish you all very Happy Thanksgiving — May it be a wonderful day full of happiness and love that you share with your closest family and friends!   download Another part of the Thanksgiving Weekend, is a bit of a newer event that is all about “Shopping” and finding the greatest deals you can, as many people start their “Christmas Shopping” on the day after “Thanksgiving” which has now become known as Black Friday”!    And I am excited to tell you that a2z Scrapbooking will be sponsoring a super fun “contest” which will start brights on early on Friday morning, with a post coming up from  Kymoma.    I think you’ll really enjoy what have planned both for you!    Kymona will be sharing all the details in her post which goes LIVE at 8 AM (EDT) Friday morning.    Zoey will also have some big “News” about another “Thanksgiving Weekend” Event that she’ll be here to share with you in her post tomorrow morning.    Both of these ladies will also be here showcasing more of their creative talents and more challenge inspiration with you.   Please be sure to stop in BOTH days, so that you don’t miss out on any of the excitement. Today, I’m also have a new card that I created using some of my favorite Hero Goodies.   This card is also here to inspire you to join in our current challenge, which is still ongoing.    All you need to do is create a project using some of your favorite Hero Arts products and upload it to our Inlinkz Gallery before Midnight EDT on Sunday, November 30th.   More details on the November Challenge and a link to the Inlinkz Gallery can be found over on the side bar   —————> !!    Anything Goes copy All of the products I used to create my card are linked below, many of which are in stock now over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store!   If you are heading over to the store today, please feel free to use my DT Promo Code – LISAH15 – to save 15% off of any order of $25 and up (excluding shipping).    This is my new card, which I named “Life is Beautiful”, based on the lovely Hero sentiment that I used to finish my inspiration project. Flowers on a Stem The first thing I chose to use for this card was one of my favorite Hero Arts wooden stamps — called “Flowers on a Stem”.   I have loved this stamp from the day I saw it released and am happy we still have it in stock at the store.    I inked it up with Versamark and stamped it directly to a piece of “Mixed Pool” Layering Paper, that I then “heat embossed” wit the gorgeous “Liquid Platinum” embossing powder by Ranger.   Note:  We are currently sold out — but, happily a new stock of this very popular powder due in any day.   And, yes this is the same stunning color that you’ll often hear Jennifer McGuire talk about and use on her amazing card creations.    After seeing this first used by Jennifer I knew it was a color I would love and boy was I right.  It’s fast become one of my favorite embossing powders, and the color is fabulous.   I love how it works with the colors that you use on your design and how it’s also perfect to use with both Silver and Gold, the perfect compliment to any card – especially those we create for the Christmas Season.    It’s been flying out the door at the a2z Store, but happily is a product will now be carrying on a regular basis along with Hero’s wonderful powder, which I also own and love.   It’s also a great color that compliments many of the Hero Arts notecards and layering papers that I use to create the majority of my card bases.    Yay! After embossing my flowers, I set that panel aside to work on the rest of the card.   I created my background next, using a Hero background Stamp, this one, now sold out – is called “Gratitude”, which I thought seemed perfect so close to “Thanksgiving”!   But, don’t you worry, because we have wonderful variety of other background stamps in stock and I’m sure you find that many of Hero’s stamps will work wonderfully to give you this same style of background!   For mine, I inked up my stamp with their “Wet Cement” Shadow ink and also chose a matching “Wet Cement” notecard as my base.    The Wet Cement color, looks especially nice with the Liquid Platinum, another reason I put those two together. The “Life is Beautiful” sentiment is from one of the newest Hero/Basic Grey stamp collections, called “Good Day”,  which is a stamp set full of lots of pretty flowers, that would also have worked well on this card.   For today’s card I chose Hero’s Black ink, and stamped the sentiment directly under my “embossed” flowers.   I think using the black really makes the sentiment “pop” and that was the look I was hoping for!    I then tied on some matching “teal” bakers twine, added that panel to my background layer and then adhered both to a matching “Wet Cement” notecard.   The final touch was to add some pretty Aqua “Sea” Hero Gems to the flowers!   a2z life is I hope you like this card and hope the sentiment reminds us all of just how beautiful life truly is!     May you think of that as your celebrate tomorrow with your dearest friends and family.   Thank you for stopping by and again — please be sure to stop in all week to take part in all our special Thanksgiving and Black Friday events – Starting tomorrow with Zoey and again on Friday with Kymona.

You Make Me Smile!!

Good Morning!     Today, here in the United States, we are celebrating Veteran’s Day.   A special day of remembrance to honor and thank all the Men and Women who proudly protect and serve our country.   I would also like to extend those wishes to Veteran’s from each and every country – all over the world.   Thank you for serving your Country and protecting us all from harm.    You are all Heroes and I greatly admire you service and support!   Thank YOU!

VeteransDayHonorThanks

I have two new cards to share today and both of these were created using a this wonderful “Hero Arts/Basic Grey” stamp set, called “You Make Me Smile”.   You’ll find this set along with several of the other products I used for these cards, over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store!     NOTE:  I am also including an “Inlinkz” product list at the bottom on the post to link you to all these supplies!

Hero Arts BasicGrey Grand Bazaar
You Make Me Smile – CL781

Hero Arts BasicGrey Grand Bazaar You Make Me Smile CL781

I really enjoyed working with this set and now have all kinds of new ideas to use it for more cards.    I love the set name and think having that sentiment as part of this set, makes it one that is very versatile and perfect for every day cards.   Great for friendship cards, encouragement cards and those cards that are meant to brighten someone’s day!     For my first card, I started with some cream cardstock, three stamps from this set and my “Navy” Hero Arts shadow Ink.    I pre-arranged the stamps the way I wanted them to line up on my craft mat, and then used my “Fiskars Stamp Press” to easily stamp all three at the same time, keeping them arranged as they were on my mat.   One I had those done, I simple re-inked the same circle/flower design and repeated that image twice to complete the design.    I trimmed down this panel and adhered it onto some of PTI’s “Navy” cardstock.   I created a second thinner banner using Hero’s Five Line Background Stamp, an “oldie but goodie” from my stash.   I trimmed that to be the same height as my first panel and again layered it onto more Navy cardstock.  Both panels where then adhered to a “Charcoal” notecard and embellished with some Hero Arts Pearls.   It easy a fun, yet easy card to create and could be done in a variety of colors!

You make me....

That brings us to my next card, also created with the same stamp set, which I think is the perfect set for “every day” cards.    I started this time with some of Hero’s Snow layering paper, and stamped on this sweet little floral image, again using Navy Shadow Ink.  I then used a set of Nestie Circles to cut out that image, and also a second circle, one size larger, in Navy.  I adhered that image to the Navy base, which was later added to my “Stitched Banner” which I created with a favorite Lawn Fawn die set.   The banner was then added to some “Navy & White” Polka Dotted cardstock that I adhered to my Charcoal card base.  I cut two thin strips of Navy Cardstock and added those to the sides of the banner, to frame it in.    I finished this card by added two white pearls and the “Happiness” sentiment, also stamped in Navy!    This one turned out to be my favorite of the two, what do you think?

happiness...

I hope I have inspired you to try this stamp set or some of the other wonderful Hero Arts products we sell over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store.   I also want to encourage you to enter our “November Challenge”, which is an “Easy” one, as the theme isAnything Goes!!    Just be certain, that your project contains at least one main Hero Art product, as always.   One lucky winner will be drawn from all the eligible entries and will receive a $25 Gift Certificate for your shopping pleasure at the a2z Store.

Follow Your Heart!!!

Happy Friday!!    I also want to wish everyone a Very Happy, Fun and Safe Halloween!!!

images

I’m still finding it hard to believe that today is the last day of October — another month has flown by — where does our time go!   It’s the last day for you to enter our “October Challenge”, and to thank those of you who have already played!  .   Please be sure to have all your entries uploaded to the Inlinkz Gallery by Midnight (EDT) tonight — As always, the Winners will be announced on the 15th, so don’t forget to stop in on November 15th to see the list!    GOOD LUCK!!

Today, I’m sharing two new cards that both use the same lovely – “Love From the Garden” stamp, a favorite of mine and one that makes truly wonderful “Love” cards.   I created both of my cards in a fall color scheme, but this stamp is perfect for year round use and can also be used for a variety of card styles, colors and themes — Everything from a sweet Friendship card to a very loving Valentine card!

My first card is called “Follow Your Heart”, and that wonderful sentiment is from the – “You’re so Kind” also from Hero Arts.  For this card I started with some cream watercolor cardstock, which I heavily misted with Hero’s Gold Spray Ink,  which creates a wonderful shimmery gold background.   Once that was dry I stamped on the “Heart” image along with the sentiment and used some Tombow markers to lightly add a touch of color to some of the flowers and leaves.    Using my Lil’ Inker Designs – stitched rectangular die cut , I cut out the image and tied on a little bow made from “gold” thread, which I topped off with a matching gold sequin.   I  used foam tape to adhere this panel to some Kraft wood-grain cardstock, which I later adhered to a ” Wet Cement” note-card!

A2Z Love for the Garden (2)

For my second card, I started with a card base that I created using the other half of the Kraft wood-grain cardstock.  I chose cream layering paper for my stamping which I did in Versamark and then heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder.   I then added some pearls that I colored with my Copics to be a deep burgundy color and tied on a matching gold bow.  I rounded the corners of this panel, and adhered it to the card base, where I also rounded each corner.   I choose my sentiment from the “Making the World a Better Place”, stamp set — this time using Raspberry Jam Shadow Ink, which was stamped onto more of the same cream cardstock.  I trimmed down that piece and added it to the heart panel, using foam tape, making it “pop” a bit off the card — a simple and easy way to add dimension to any card.   In the end, I think this card turned out to be my favorite of the two, imagine that and not a bit of Purple!

A2Z Love for the Garden

Before I go I want to invite you all to stop by tomorrow to hear all about our November Challenge and to also meet the newest members of the a2z Design Team.   I am honored to be part of this team and can’t wait to find out who I’ll be creating with for the next term.   For those gals who are moving on to new ventures in the creative world, I wish you all the very best.   I have enjoyed meeting and creating with each and every one of you.   It’s been amazing to be part of this wonderful team and to have met new crafty friends from all over the World!

So Sorry….!!

Happy Saturday —  It’s Lisa here this morning with a new project to share !  Today, I have one of those cards that tend to be a bit difficult for many of us to create, but are cards that mean so much to those who receive them!   Today, I am sharing a Sympathy card and hope that it’s one I don’t have to use for a very long time.    In my own life, I have been greatly touched with some of the very loving and encouraging cards that have been sent to me, when I have experienced a loss in my family.   To me, it’s always been very bittersweet to receive a card like this, especially one that also includes a person handwritten note, or some words that will help me to smile and cherish the memories of those we have lost from our lives!   This card was also created to fit into our theme and to provide you with more inspiration for our October Challenge.

In following with the challenge requirements, (use TWO “main” Hero Arts” products — i.e. Stamps, Stencils, Dies etc.) — the first thing I did was to pick out my products –and for this card, I chose two of Hero’s Stamp Sets – “Night and Day Flowers” along with another clear set, “Remember” which is a wonderful set of sentiments designed exactly for these type card cards.

So Sorry for a2z

Next, was to choose my colors and I chose “Purple” which I’m sure many of you already know, is my “Signature Color” — I love it and I also love that Hero Arts has an amazing array of Purple in their line!  Everything from Inks, Papers, Sprays, and Embellishments all perfect for me!     I began by stamping my floral image, directly onto some “Snow” laying paper, using my favorite of Hero’s Purple Ink – Grape Juice.  I also picked out my sentiment and stamped that on the same piece, also in the same rich purple shade.   I created my case base with more of the Snow paper and cut or a large “window” area using a Spellbinder’s Rectangle die.   I then added a piece of “deep” purple cardstock (from My Favorite Things) to the inside of my window.   The next step was to add some texture and I did that using a Panel of Vellum that I embossed with a Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder.  I adhered that directly to the purple base and them die cut my floral image with a Lil Inker Designs -Stitched Rectangle Die and using foam tape, added that on top of my embossed panel.  I them added purple gems to each of the flower centers and highlighted the image with a fine layer of white sparkling Glitter, by Ranger. To complete me my card, I used the “Dotted Ellements” die set to cut out my sentiment, which I added on top of my flowers.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out and especially love the wonderful flowers in the Night and Days Flowers Stamp Set.  It’s a set I have used in many ways and I like that this card is one I could re-create in a variety of colors!   I could also change it a bit by adding another of the many touching sentiments from the Remember set.   I could also easily change this to be a friendship or feminine birthday card, by simply choosing one of the many other Hero Arts Stamp sets — currently have available over at the a2z Store!

If you would like to purchase any  Hero Arts products, please head on over to the a2z Scrapbooking Store, where you can save 15% off your shopping with my special Promo Code.  All you need to do is add $25 in products to your shopping cart -(excluding shipping)- and then enter my code – LISAH15 – Once the code is entered you will automatically see the savings reflected in your  total.    Have fun shopping and don’t forget to check out the newest Hero Arts releases, as well as the latest additions to the digital line!

Thanks for stopping by today !  Wishing you all a fabulous Saturday and a wonderful weekend!

Under the Mistletoe!!

Happy Thursday everyone!  How are you doing this week?  Good I hope and I hope you are enjoying the lovely Fall Season, that we here in the U. S. are now in.   I can hardly believe that Christmas and the Holidays will be here in a matter or week — Wow is time every flying by!!     Today’s card is one that will be perfect as one of my Christmas Cards and created it to showcase a new Hero Stamp Set (Under the Mistletoe) and also to inspired you to play along in our October Challenge.    For all the details on this challenge and to upload your card, please go to the Challenge Post HERE!   You’ll also find more amazing inspiration from my Design Teammates there.

As for me,  (it’s Lisa in case you don’t know), and I have been dying to create something fun with one of my newest stamps sets, which one being from the  “Handmade for Christmas” Catalog Release and a set that has been very popular.   Happily, we have it in stock again now over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store, but if you want it order fast, as has already sold out once!!    To meet the challenge requirement, (using two Main Hero Arts Products, I chose a second stamp and this is a large cling background part of the  Hero Arts/Basic Grey  line.   It’s called “Pine Horizontals CG610”, and although we are currently out, please know that we are always happy to place special orders!   If this is a stamp you would like to purchase, please leave a comment here or fill out a request form, over at the a2z Store.

Mistletoe Love...

I started this card by taking a variety of the clear stamps and then lining them up on my craft mat, creating the design I wanted for my card.  Once I had them all lined up, I simply placed my Fiskars stamp press onto the stamps, which easily picked them up and then inked them and stamped them directly to my white background.    Using a stamp press in this way, makes it easy to pre-arrange your stamps and do the inking and stamping in one easy step.   I colored the images with Copic Markers and then added a hint of sparkle using a Wink of Stella clear marker, which we now carry at the a2z Store.   I then added some red Hero Arts Gems to each of the berries and added on finished off this section by stamping on my Sentiment, also from the “Under the Mistletoe” set.   Next, I created the card base, starting with some “Pine Green” Layering Paper.  I wanted to create a subtle background with a tone on tone look and did that using the Pine Horizontals Stamp inked in Hero’s “Forever Green Shadow Ink.   I then cut down my image and framed it using some patterned paper from Echo Park, and then added that panel directly to my stamped card base.   It was really a fun and easy card to create and I have lots of other ideas of using this same wonderful set.  I think it would look fabulous stamped in embossed in Gold or Silver on a bright red card based, or stamped in Gold on a solid white base!

While, I am here, I want to remind you that there are still a few days left to enter into one or all three of the Challenges we posted on Saturday in Celebration of World Card Making Day. You find each of the three posted HERE and each challenge has its own them and own Inlinkz Gallery.   You have until Midnight on October 12th to upload your projects have a chance to win one of the three $20 Gift Certificate prizes that will be randomly drawn from each of the entries!   You’ll also find the Design Team has shared some wonderful inspiration for each challenge and there are already some amazing entries!   Thank you to all of you who have already entered and best of luck in the Prize Drawings.

I also want to encourage any of you crafters who happen to LOVE Hero Arts products as much as we do, to consider submitting your application for our current Design Team Call.  You’ll find all the details and requirements on the call HERE and you have until October 20th to apply.   As one of the Design Team Members who has been on the team since day one, I’m so happy, proud and honored to be part of this amazing team and to also help promote the wonderful products and service that you’ll find when shopping at the a2z Scrapbooking Store.  It’s truly a pleasure to be part of this Design Team and I also really love creating with such a talented, friendly and caring group!

In closing I want to share my special thanks to each of you all kind and caring thoughts, and to also for being so supportive while I have been dealing with a brutal Fibro Flare over the past several weeks.   I feel so lucky to be here posting today and to be healing again and finding time to create, which I so LOVE and had missed terrible.  I’m so very thankful for everyone who has left a comment on my blog, sent me a nice note or left me a message on Facebook.  It’s mean so much to see how many people care!    I am most grateful to the a2z DT and our dear leader Elizabeth for being so supportive!    I’m very lucky to be on such a amazing team and so grateful for your concern, encouragement and support during these rather difficult health issues.   This team ROCKS, and Elizabeth, our “Boss Lady” is a sweetheart, in more ways than I can ever express!  Without her understanding and endearing heart, I know that I would never have been able to remain on this team!   I’m extremely grateful to her for being there for me.   Paper-crafting is truly a passion for me and often it’s very much my main form of relaxation and therapy in dealing with the chronic pain and fatigue of Fibromyalgia.   Without this in my life, I know that it would only make living with this illness even more of a challenge!    Thanks from the bottom on my heart for everything  — it means more than you know!

Lisa

Welcome!   It’s Lisa, (ThePurplePlace),  here today and I have two new cards to share in hopes that I can inspire you to take part in this month’s “Fall or Christmas” themed challenge and also to help you with some ideas for your own Christmas or Winter cards this year.   You can link directly to the challenge from our side bar,  ——>>>>>

I love to create all my own handmade cards each year and one of them favorite themes is often snow related, even through I dread it when it’s actually bitterly cold and snowy here.  The only day I love to see a fresh new coating of snow is on Christmas morning and if that was the only day it snowed all year, that would be fine with me.  I’m a summer girl by heart, but do also very much love the Christmas spirit and season.    I also love to use what I think would be considered non-traditional Christmas colors on my cards and did that on both of these, using a mix of the lovely shades of Teal and Aqua that Hero Arts has in their wonderful ink and spray line.

I’m also excited to be sharing some of my newest Hero goodies, along with a mix of some of my Hero Stamps from previous years.  In my opinion, you can never have too many “Christmas Stamps” and of course the matching elements that go along with them.   When I saw the new combo stamp/die sets in the new “Handmade for Christmas” catalog, I knew that I they would be a perfect addition to my Christmas stash and I put them to good use right away in making these two new cards.

My first card started a with a pretty soft pool card base and I used my new “Let It Snow” Stamp n Cuts” set to cut a window directly into the front of my card.  Next, I took the matching stamp and inked it up in a Hero’s Ocean ink and carefully stamped it directly through the window to the inside of my card.  I then chose a selection of snowflakes and randomly stamped them all over my card, in shades of teal and white.   I die cut a second snowflake, stamped it in Versamark and then heat embossed it in white and used foam tape to pop that one up off my card.   To finish my card, I used a variety of Hero’s gems, pearls and snowflakes, with a few Prima Crystals to embellishthe center of each snowflake.  I really love that extra sparkle that “bling” adds to any card.

Warm Wishes for a2z 09-015.

My second card is also another fun Snowflake themed card, also created in these shades I love.  You can however change them to be any color or create with the more traditional red and green that so many of you love.   The fun part about stamping is that there are so many fabulous ink colors now available, that we can basically create with any color of the rainbow.  I have a love of Hero’s Shadow Inks and am very happy to now own every color.  I even love the wonderful little cube sets that are now available so that you can try new colors, and not necessarily have to buy the large pads, until you know you love a color!   I actually used Versamark as my ink on this next card and then heat embossed each of the snowflakes in Hero’s White Embossing powder directly onto a strip of “Snow Day Patterned Paper” from Lawn Fawn.    I finished off this card by adding some Sequins and a Prima Crystal, along with my Sentiment which is from an older Hero Arts Sentiment Set called “Holiday Sayings”.

Peace Love Joy Snowflakes a2z
