March Winners—We Have Two!

It’s Chark here today with the fun job of announcing our March Challenge Winner and our special Comment Winner from March.

As always, we love seeing what you come up with during the month to fit the theme and the March “Playing With Stencils” challenge was no different.

The card with the most votes was Linda’s colorful peacock card. The soft stenciling really brought the eye to the beautiful peacock. Congrats, Linda! You can see why this Color Layering Peacock stamp set is so popular in our store! You can claim your $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking store by emailing us at a2zscrapping@gmx.com

Our runners-up, who get bragging rights and a blog button when they contact us at the above address, are three talented ladies. This challenge was a close-call and you can see why when you take a look at these projects.

Look at what Verna entered this month—this colorful flower and butterfly combo card…isn’t this just the very picture of Spring?

Next up is Maura with her bright version of the Color Layering Peacock stamps. The added bits, including black delicate branches and the yellow enamel dots on the tail made this one a top fave with our design team.

Our third talented cardmaker is Monika with a gold and black beauty that is striking and elegant. The little gold dots and the gold strip of paper really frame the gold stenciling on this.

One last thing, thanks so much for all your lovely comments this month, we enjoyed hearing your thoughts on our projects. And the winner chosen at random to win $25 to the store is Maura who left this comment:

Email us at the above address, Maura, to get your gift code!

Congrats to our winners and thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget, we have a brand-new challenge for April and you can enter a project to try to win a $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking store. The theme is Getting to Know You and we’d like to see your favorite Hero Arts product (stamp, stencil, die, inks, digi, etc.) on your project.

Happy Friday!

Hero Arts Poinsetta plus a fun way to use a stencil

Hi Dawn here to share a couple of cards to you.   Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.   My first card is a Christmas card.

I used a stencil I had in my stash that is a splatter one.  I stamped HA K6176 Antique Poinsettia in some red and green inks and used an aqua brush to move the ink around.  I then used the matching die to cut it out.  (You can get it here on sale!)  The sentiment is from a Digi kit called Chalkboard Christmas  I love that I can use Digi kits together with my stamps  Did you know that A2Z stock all Hero Arts digital kits.

And today I am sharing another way to use your stencils…. Making you own colouring pages

I took a Hero Arts stencil (SA0260 Leaf and Flourish Background) – this one is no longer available but you can get it  together with one other (as it’s not currently in stock, you can do a special order over at our shop)  I traced around the stencil with a fine line black pen and then coloured it in with some Faber Castell pencils.  Just like a colouring book page!

Remember if you go shopping to use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. And don’t forget that we are on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

And another chance to win – During the month of March, we’re giving you a second way to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the a2z Store! We’ll do a random draw from the blog comments during the month of March for one gift card. You can enter once a day by commenting on the blog post and earn up to 31 chances to win! If you’re feeling it, you’re welcome to enter both the Hero Arts with Stencils challenge and the commenting challenge…maybe you’ll win both.

January 2017 Challenge Winners

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to announce the Anything Goes challenge winner and the three runners-up. The top pick receives a $25 gift code to the store and the three runners-up favorites get a blog badge to let the world know we think their talent is amazing.

Our top winner is Jacqueline, who used white embossing on top of patterned paper and then topped it off with this perfectly matched butterfly stamp. What a beautiful way to use patterned paper, don’t you think the white embossing ties it all together? To claim your prize, just email us at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net and have fun shopping!

Our first runner-up is Maura with this cool grunge butterfly card. I’m seeing a theme this challenge, though Maura’s butterfly card has a whole different feel and different butterfly stamps. Her bright colors really make this one pop!

Our next runner-up is Tasha, with a classy gold and white holiday card that features holly stamps, gold glitter embossing powder and gold spray droplets. The way the holly branches frame the center panel is just right and the berries even have a touch of glossy accents.

Our third runner-up is Greta, with this pink embossed card with black ink on top of the embossing. What a striking effect for this valentine…I know I’d love to receive this one in the mail.

Can I get a “wow” from the crowd? These are absolutely beautiful and with all the lovely entries this month, the team had a hard time deciding on their favorites! Thanks to everyone who entered this month, it was fun checking out your creations. Congratulations to our winners! Runners-up, please email us at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net to get your blog badges.

Our February Challenge is “Any Shade of Red,” so dust off those Hero Arts stamps, dies and stencils and make them a focal point of your project, add in some red somewhere and link it up here. YOU might be the next winner of the $25 gift code to the a2z Scrapbooking store, where you can find all sorts of goodies. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Tuesday!

November Winners Post

If it’s the seventh, it must be time to announce the big winners from our November Embellish It Challenge. Our top pick was Betty’s layered and embellished holly card…isn’t this just so lovely? That’s some wonderful stamping with the branches too, and who doesn’t like a touch of gold? Please contact us at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net to claim your $25 gift code.

Our first of three runners-up (who each get bragging rights and a blog badge to tell everyone how talented we think she is) is Andrea with this striking card with the black, white and gold background for the bright flower.

Our next runner-up is Berina, who actually had two cards that tied for runner-up! These cards were both so pretty and each has metallic accents. I can’t decide which is prettier, neither could the team and that’s why Berina gets two cards showcased.

Our third winner to receive a badge for her blog and  is Jessie with this blinged out tree. Now that is one embellished stamp, and it looks fabulous!

Please email the above address to get your blog buttons. And thanks to everyone who entered this month for playing along and providing us with beautiful inspiration for embellishing our Hero Arts stamps. September Winners

Hi, crafty friends, it’s Chark here today to announce the September Make It a Tag Challenge Winners. It’s always fun to see what you all create and this month was no different…and the choosing is always difficult, because you guys are so talented!

Our top pick this month and the winner of a $25 gift certificate to the store is Maura! This card with the tag is all kinds of perfect for fall, great colors, great design and great stamping! Nice job, Maura! Please contact us at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net to claim your gift code.

Our Honorable Mentions this month literally all tied for second place! Our runners-up win a blog badge and bragging rights to tell everyone how much our DT loved their entries! Just email the above address to ask for your blog buttons.

Our first and second Honorable Mention is LaVon! LaVon entered a lot of beautiful projects this month and we loved her entries. The two that got the most attention were these two. Her Autumn card has beautiful color and design, and I love the placement of the sentiment too!

Check out LaVon’s flickr account to see her Fall Card in all its beautiful detail. Flickr protects its photos so you can’t just copy them, which is cool, but I wanted you to at least take a fuzzy peek at it here 🙂

This second one is definitely a joy, see what I did there? It’s got a great color scheme and that fab snowflake die and my personal favorite, glitter!

Our next Honorable Mention is Sally with her adorable tag/gift card holder. Clever, cute and just right for the holidays, Sally’s entry is definitely a keeper!

Because LaVon tied with herself, we’ve added another blog badge winner and that is Andrea with this lovely pink poinsettia tag. The greens and golds set off the pink of the flower beautifully, and the baker’s twine is a perfect little addition.

Thanks to everyone who entered and congrats to these four ladies! Don’t forget to link up your creation for the October Layer It Challenge here to try to win your own $25 gift code.

And if you need some Hero Arts products to play along, the a2z Scrapbooking store is fully stocked with the newest products for fall, winter and the holidays, check it out here.

Happy Friday!

Hi, all, just a quick post to announce our June To Die For Challenge Winners. First, thanks to all who entered, we had such beautiful work this month!

Our winner of the $25 gift certificate to the store this month is Maura with this beauty!

The colors are striking and the fun stamping and distressing make the butterflies really stand out–and did you notice the glitter on the wings? Perfect touch! Please email  a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net  to claim your gift code.

Our runners-up win a blog badge and bragging rights to tell everyone how much our DT loved their entries! Just email the above address to ask for your blog buttons.

Helen, who is now on the design team, entered the June contest before being chosen for the team and made this lovely card. It has the right touch of red to really stand out with the kraft and white, always a great combination!

Our next runner-up is Cecilia, with this amazing mix of brick wall and vellum butterfly, both embossed in platinum. What a unique combo she made–the brick texture with the softness of the butterfly is really well done!

Our third runner-up is Kim H. with a different butterfly die and a wonderful shaped card– this is a lovely color combination and the sentiment matches the lighthearted feel of this card perfectly!

We’re so happy to see the entries each month and see what Hero Arts-inspired projects you make. April Challenge Winners

Hi, friends, it’s Chark today with our monthly challenge winner announcement, so exciting! First, thank you to all who entered our April Watercoloring Challenge, we saw tons of beautiful entries and that made the judging tricky for the team.

The winner for April is Maura with this lovely card…the colors are lovely together, the painting is gorgeous and the splatters and sequins just make the perfect touches. We loved this one, Maura! Please contact us for your $25 gift code to the store at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net

Our three runners-up for April are these fabulous card makers below. Please contact us at a2zscrapbooking@comcast.net to get your blog buttons.

This card is from Helen G and is just so sigh-worthy. The pink and gold are classically lovely together and the design of this one is perfect to showcase the watercolored flower. Beautiful, Helen!

Our next runner-up is Tammy, who used the cutest little Hero Arts owls as a focal point on her gorgeous watercolored sky. I loved that the owls are painted to match but still stand out. The black and white elements of the card really draw the focus to the beautiful colors and made this a team favorite. Nicely done, Tammy, it’s wonderful!

Our last runner-up for the April Watercolor Challenge is Betty, who took a soft approach to her project. This flower looks stunning embossed and painted on vellum. Leaving the leaves white, along with the white card and white sequins make the eye immediately go to the flower. Beautiful in concept and execution, it won a lot of fans on the team. Lovely work, Betty!

Thanks to all who entered…turns out watercoloring is a favorite technique of our crafty friends. And every entry was beautifully done, so you must be practicing a great deal, or maybe you’re just naturally a painter. Either way, it made for some beautiful eye candy for everyone!

Don’t forget to enter May’s CAS Challenge here this month. Break out those Hero Arts stamps, stencils, dies and digis and think Clean and Simple. You might just win bragging rights and a blog button or even $25 to spend at the a2z store and that is a whole lotta fun!

Happy Weekend!
