Hero Arts – Rain or Shine

Hello everyone!

It’s Donna here to share this cute shape card made with the Hero Arts, “Nesting Clouds Infinity Dies”.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts digital file “Rain or Shine”, the background, the rainbow and clouds came from the Hero Arts digital file “April Showers”.  I am loving the challenge this month which is “Take Shape”, you can use any shape card and use at least one Hero Arts product on your card to qualify for the prize.

I wanted to let you all know this will be my last post on a2z Scrapbooking!  I have enjoyed my almost three years with this design team.  I will be back playing along with the challenges if time permits!  I will always be a Hero Arts lover and will continue to use their products!  Thank you Linda for the opportunity and I wish you and the store much success.  So on to my card………….

closer look at the card

How I put my card together:

I was so excited about getting my card together, I completely forgot to take pictures, but this is a simple card to created.

1.  I used the second of the largest cloud die and cut two,

2.  I scored about 1/2 inch on the second cloud so the card will stand,

3.  I used my computer to arrange everything I wanted on my card and printed it out on the Gina K premium white card stock,

4.  I used the third cloud and die cut the printed elements out,

6.  I colored the rainbow and clouds with copics

5.  I printed the rainbow again and cut out the clouds and popped them up over the clouds,

7.  I finished the card off by adding some Hero Arts sequins called Ombre Ocean.

Simple card!  I can’t wait to see what you create on this fun challenge.

Hero Arts Special Birthday Digital Kit DK116 Take Shape Card

Hi! It’s Sue and I have a new card to show you. It would be a good card to enter in the current monthly challenge at a2z Scrapbooking. More about the current challenge, later.

Here’s my card

I started with the sentiment, from a Hero Arts digital kit (details below). I’m still not very good at using digital stamps. However, I did figure out how to change the colour, from the standard black to a nice royal blue and print it on cardstock. Then, using a Hero Arts stencil (details below), distress inks (picked raspberry, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, peacock feathers and wilted violet) and ink daubers, I randomly inked up the stars around the sentiment. It seems kind of festive, to me – don’t you think? I was at a loss what to do next. Then, I remembered this month’s challenge and die cut the panel into a large circle. Using a larger circle die, I cut the purple mat and the circle card – just be sure to remember to “overlap” one edge of the circle, beyond the fold of the card or you’ll end up with two circles, instead of a circle card – don’t ask me how I know this!

Hero Arts Love Stamp & cut with Hero Arts Deco Pattern Stencil

There is still just a little time to enter this months a2zscrapbooking challenge for May:

Sentiment Focus

sentiment focus.jpg

Here I’ve used the Love Stamp and Die set DC175 for my sentiment and the Hero Arts Deco Pattern Stencil SA105 with some embossing paste.  I die cut the 6 love dies, 3 from watercolored paper that I used Distress Oxide Inks on, and 3 black ones for shadows.  I’ve also used Hero Arts white embossing powder and a strip of pattern paper from my stash.  I added some shimmer to the die cuts with Spectrum Noir glitter pen.

I hope you will have time to join the challenge – just remember to use one main Hero Arts product! You could win a $25 gift card to the a2z store!

And remember to use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more!

good luck

Hello everyone! My card today is a card I made for my son’s drama debut! His school had a drama club this year and they did School House Rock Live Jr. They all did a great job.  I made this card to wish him luck before the show and made an Oreo bouquet for after! (He liked the bouquet better than the card!)

good louck

I used three ink colors to stamp the back ground and embossed the the black on some vellum. I trimmed down my panel and lined it with black cardstock. I then adhered it to the cardbase. The embossed sentiment was torn from the vellum sheet and popped up on the panel.

Good Luck close up

Hello Hello Hello with Hero Arts

Dawn here to say Hello, Hello, Hello…. following on with our monthly theme of Focus on the Sentiment.

I was inspired by a couple of different cards on Pinterest.  Took ideas from them and came up with this CAS card.

I used my MISTI to ensure I got a good dark black stamping of my Hello and the rest of the sentiment (from DC151 Hello Stamp & Cut– :  This popular Stamp set is currently Out of Stock at a2z Scrapbooking, however you can CUSTOM Order it in the Store. Just click on the REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER form on the store HOME Page).  I trimmed the panel and added a black mat.  Thanks to MISTI I was able to do some multi colour stamping on the feathers (from CM126 Color Layering Peacock. )  I used colours from the matching ink set. (AF394 Peacock Layering inks)  I fussy cut them and added.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. Hero Arts – You are very Special

Hi  I’m here today to share a Hybrid card for you…. that’s a card with some stamping and some digital elements.  A2Zscrapbooking is an official carrier of Hero Arts Digital kits.

The stamping on the background is a very old Hero Arts stamp set…. but never fear, this stamp set is also available as a Digital kit ( Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Kit DK103)  I used a variety of Hero Arts Inks which I will list below.   I then printed the sentiment onto the stamped card.  I used a digital image from Hero Arts Special Birthday Digital Kit DK116.  Use of the digital images is so easy and makes a great impact.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. Design Team Call and Birthday Messages Candles

Hi, friends, it’s Chark again today with a card and details on our Design Team Call.

The birthday card I made uses washi tape and sentiment stamps. I used a white panel of cardstock and stamped the small Happy Birthday sentiment sideways to mimic candles. I added some flames with markers.

IMG_3652

I used the larger Happy Birthday sentiment as the focal point and then used three different washi tapes to add a colorful line at the top of the panel. I inked the edges of a white card with the same Strawberry ink as I used to stamp the candles. And that was it!

aLove this Birthday Messages stamp set, it’s got a lot of great stamps you’re sure to use.

Hope you’ll join in our May Challenge Sentiment Focus and use your Hero Arts sentiment stamps as the focus of your card.

Please stop by my blog Glitter In My Kitchen for some more ideas.

Birthday Messages and a Masculine Card

Hi, friends, it’s Chark today with a masculine card…assuming most guys don’t love glitter and sequins like I do (and there are some that do, I’m sure!) then I’ve got a card just right for those guys today. And it fits our new May Challenge theme, Sentiment Focus, where the sentiment is the focus of the card.

I used the new Birthday Messages stamp set and put a bunch of the messages on the mini MISTI. I’m not a great stamper, so I love using anything that will help me stamp and the MISTI comes in handy when you have to re-stamp something.

IMG_3650

I wanted an ombre inked look, I inked up the messages with Summer Sky ink (lightest), then added some Deep Ocean ink (medium) and finished inking with the Navy ink (darkest), all by Hero Arts. Then I stamped the sentiments on a white panel. You can see the ombre better here.

IMG_3651

I stamped and trimmed out another small Happy Birthday message and mounted it to Navy inked cardstock. I popped it up on top of more paper layers to draw attention to it. I trimmed the panel down and mounted it to a black piece of cardstock that I stamped with the new Wallpaper Pattern background stamp in White Unicorn ink by Hero Arts. I love that ink.

For bling, I used the understated Matte Doodlebug Design dots to finish it off. They’re like enamel dots, but they have a soft matte finish. They’re cool to finish off a card without the shiny glittery goodness of sequins.

That’s it for me today, hope you’ll join in our new May challenge here with your Hero Arts products. Join us on the 7th to see the April winners announced.

Happy Tuesday!

Watercolor butterfiles

Hello everyone, Monica here to share my last card for the April Challenge. Use you favorite Hero Arts products. For this card I kept with my theme of the embossing powders, I can’t seem to get enough of the pearl and black glitter!

butterfly watercolor 2

I started by inking the butterfly stamp with some Tombow markers and spritzing with water before stamping. Once I had all the butterflies stamped I sprayed the card with more water to get the color to drip a little down the card. After the water was dry I used the layer of the butterfly to emboss in the pearl powder. Then I added the sentiment embossed with the black sparkle powder.

I’m happy with how the card turned out even with the splatter of orange by the green!
