Hero Arts Poinsetta plus a fun way to use a stencil

Hi Dawn here to share a couple of cards to you.   Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.   My first card is a Christmas card.

img_2458w

I used a stencil I had in my stash that is a splatter one.  I stamped HA K6176 Antique Poinsettia in some red and green inks and used an aqua brush to move the ink around.  I then used the matching die to cut it out.  (You can get it here on sale!)  The sentiment is from a Digi kit called Chalkboard Christmas  I love that I can use Digi kits together with my stamps  Did you know that A2Z stock all Hero Arts digital kits.

And today I am sharing another way to use your stencils…. Making you own colouring pages

img_2461

I took a Hero Arts stencil (SA0260 Leaf and Flourish Background) – this one is no longer available but you can get it  together with one other (as it’s not currently in stock, you can do a special order over at our shop)  I traced around the stencil with a fine line black pen and then coloured it in with some Faber Castell pencils.  Just like a colouring book page!

Remember if you go shopping to use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. And don’t forget that we are on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

And another chance to win – During the month of March, we’re giving you a second way to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the a2z Store! Stretching Your Hero Arts Holiday Stamp and Dies

Hello everyone…Helen is here today. Christmas has passed and we ended up with lots of new Holiday themed stamps and dies. Today, I would love to share with you an idea you can stretch your Hero Arts Holiday stamps and dies to make non-Holiday cards.

There are many of Hero Arts Holiday stamps have sentiments that can be used on any occasion like the Peace stamp and cut that I used today on my card.

Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem

My card today is also a mixed media card. I use the heat-embossing resist and watercoloring with Color Bursts on this card.

To create the background I heat-embossed the Hero Arts – Vintage Rose Stem with Versamark ink pad and white embossing powder on a piece of watercolor paper. Then I heat set it with my craft heater.

I sprayed some water mixed with Perfect Pearl powder on the paper and sprinklde the color burst powder on it. I dried in between adding colors until I was happy 🙂 Then on my craft mat, I sprinkled some of the Fuchsia, Lime Green, Orchid and Turquoise and sprayed with water to make watercolor paint. I painted the flowers and leaves with them.

Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem

Then I dried the whole panel with my craft heater. I stamped the Peace sentiment from Peace stamp & cut set on a piece of vellum with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad, sprinkled some clear embossing powder, then heat set it with craft heater.

I used black cardstock for the card base. Using lots of adhesive on the back of the watercolored panel, I added it on the card base, then I wrapped the vellum around the card using vellum adhesive.

I finished the card with some pearl gems.

I hope this will give you and idea that you can actually use your Holiday stamps for non-Holiday cards 🙂

a2z Scrapbooking store carries variety of Hero Arts products, including the ones I used on this project today. Hero Arts Poinsettia & Happy Holly Days

SURPRISE…I have another tag for you, BUT I did step out and make something different this time – you know, to go along with the theme ‘ANYTHING BUT A CARD‘! 😀 Yay me!

Have you joined our challenge this month; we’d love to see your creations, you can link them up HERE. And don’t forget, you can receive 15% off your order of $25+ at our Etsy shop; just use code: MicheleG15! And if there is something not available, they do special orders, just ask!

So let’s go with the non-tag creation first! I stamped the huge Poinsettia stamp (looks like it might be out of stock, but the dies are available, just ask for a special order if you’d like the stamp) on some artist grade translucent shrink plastic in Hero Arts Intense Black; I knew that wasn’t going to dry for quite some, if at all, so I added some Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder and hand cut the images after punching a hole in the shrink plastic. I used my heat gun to shrink the images and the embossing powder really made them sparkle. I wasn’t worried about them being perfectly flat, I like the dimension just as they are.

Once cool, I painted on some Lindy’s magicals – the colors are really a hot pink and lime green but I barely added any water so the colors are a bit stronger and nope, I didn’t worry that they weren’t perfect, just wanted to have fun! I tied on some small jingle bells and silver twine to finish them off; they will be a perfect touch to a few of our Christmas gifts! I tied one on to a gift for our son’s girlfriend, just a cute little touch!

And yes, I created ANOTHER Hero Arts Happy Holly Days tag, I can’t help it, I am seriously in love with these images! I had bought a small gift set from Bath & Body Works for my personal trainer and kept it simple by adding the tag as the finishing touch.

Hero Arts Peace & Joy

Hello everyone,

It’s Donna here with the December’s challenge which is “anything but a card”. This has been such a challenging challenge this month. Sometimes it’s difficult to come up with something other than a card.  Have you had a chance to play along? There is still time to play.  Don’t forget to use at least one Hero Arts product on your creation.  You can upload your project here.  Hop on over to the a2z Scrapbooking blog and see the beautiful projects the design team has created.  You will sure to get some inspiration.

I have a gift bag to share with you today!  It’s only two more days before Christmas and I will definitely be using this for someone’s gift.  I am using the Hero Art’s Peace and Joy wooden stamp, and the best thing about this stamp is it’s on sale right now.  Hope on over to the store and get it, it’s limited quantities and once it is gone, they will not be restocked.

Here is how I created my gift bag:

1.  I cut my first layer at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2,

2.  The red foil paper measures 3 7/8 x 4 7/8,

3.  The white piece that the “peace & joy” measures 3 1/2 x 4,

4.  I stamped the image in black and then copied it on a laser printer,

5.  I ran the paper through my Minc and used Red Rouge Deco Foil,

6.  I adhered all my layers and finished it off with Hero Art Rhinestones,

7.  I took some thin paper, red, green and kraft and used my scissors to curl the paper and added it to the top of the bag and put some tissue paper in it.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can also use the code “Donna15” to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

Hero Arts Digital Chalkboard Label – handmade Bath Salts

Christmas wishes – Dawn here with a little gift idea.  I made several of these for my friends.

img_2270

I made the salts and then using Microsoft Word, I added the words to the Hero Arts Digital Frame (DK113)  I printed onto an Avery Label and fussy cut and stuck to the Jar.   The frames in this digital kit are all fabulous.

And although I used my own sentiment, you can see that there are some great sentiments you can add to the frames.

OUT THE BOX WITH HERO ARTS VINTAGE WISHES

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you cute boxes that I made using the stamp set Vintage Wishes from Hero Arts.  Create these boxes was very easy and I used the some papers from the Winter Bliss Collection of Quick Quotes Scrapbook  and the envelope punch board. During Christmas season it is very common to prepare small presents for our family and friends, and this kind of package is very easy to make and decorate:

img_6585

To create this you only need a 6″x6″ piece of decorated paper. You need to punch and score in 2″ and 4″ on all four sides of the squares using the Envelope Punch Board. Then you fold the score lines and cut the corners in same way to build the box. Before you build the box, don’t forget to round the corners and punch a tiny hole on each point to tie the box after building it.

img_6590

I put chocolates inside each box and then I tied with thick baker’s twine.

To finalize the decoration I cut a small stitched die cut using a coordinated paper and a second using a piece of card stock. Over the die cut of card stock I stamped a sentiment and the cute snowman from the stamp set Vintage Wishes from Hero Arts using different colors of ink to coordinate with the colors of my boxes. I tied each mini tag to the box using gold metallic thread.

I hope you too will join us in the challenge this month. You have until month end to submit your project for a chance at a $25 Gift Card.

Holiday Tags with Hero Arts Holiday Stamps

Hero Arts Holiday Gift Tag

Hi Friends! Kristina here with a project for our “Anything but a Card” challenge this December.
My inspiration today comes from Kay Miller and the 12 tags of Christmas on the Ellen Hutson blog. I’ve never been one to do many gift tags, but her’s looks so enticing I thought I’d giving it a go.

I cut out a base circle with a stitched circle die, and then an additional circle one size smaller from two colors of cardstock. I used versamark ink to create a tone-on-tone simple background. You could also use pattern paper. I cut each circle in half and peiced them together on the background, before layering on a die cut sentiment, a glittery snow flake, a Hero Arts Snowy Tree and the cute little owl from Hero Arts Holiday Animals. He was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I was ready to give up on those markers until I saw Jennifer McGuires favorite things video for paper, which turned me on to Bristol Smooth paper and the rest is history. I like the markers now 🙂

OK; now that we have the details out-of-the-way, let’s get down to creating. I stamped and die cut SO MANY IMAGES for these tags, thankfully I have some extras left over that are going to end up on another large project I am doing. 😉

Prepare for photo overload – you’ve been warned.

Hero Arts Happy Holly Days Stamps and Dies

If you follow me on Instagram (Whimsical_Creations) you can see all the pieces I created as well as the Nuvo Mousse in action. 😀 So I stamped a ton of images and embossed with Hero Arts white (another fave) and colored with Zig Clean Clear brushes. I then die cut all my images as well as a base tag from water color paper.

I applied embossing paste through a stencil to parts of the tags and once dry smooshed on some distress ink. For one tag, I added some Nuvo Mousse to the distress ink and it really changed it to a teal color – lots of sparkle – but once it was dry, I added more of the distress ink without the mousse. Once completely dry, I adhered the various images, embossed some sentiments on black paper, sprayed with shimmer mist and adhered with dimensionals. I die cut a blank tag and adhered to the back for a clean place to write your message. I finished it off with some misc. ribbon and twine from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you’ll take the time to join our challenge and while you’re at it, shop our Etsy store for some holiday cheer for yourself!
