Hero Arts Monochrome Ornaments

Hello welcome,

Cindy here to share a monochrome Christmas card.  I’ve decided since the beginning of the year to make my holiday cards ahead of time.  And I made this one to add to my stash.  Let’s take a look.

It’s a design I could make multiples in various colors.  I started off by pressing and dragging my Ombre Pink to Red Ink Pad on white card stock from one end to the other (twice to cover the 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch panel) .

Next I mixed some Perfect Pearl powder in water and used a flat brush to apply stripes of it over some of the inked areas.

Not sure if you could see the shimmery stripes.  But it’s the areas that appears lighter in color.  Next I used the Ornament Infinity Dies to die cut the ornaments.  Lucky me, I found a color card stock that matches the inked panel and I white heat embossed the sentiment on it and cut into a fishtail banner.  All the ornaments and the banner are then adhered on a Swiss Dots embossed white panel then onto a matching pink card base.  Here’s a close up you could see better the perfect pearl.

Hero Arts CM180 Color Layering Holly Christmas Card

Hope you can handle one more Christmas card. I know Christmas is over but I love the warm feeling this season brings to my heart. I’m just not ready to let it go … yet!

Here’s my card for today

I started by thinking that I would make a one-layer card. I used post-it tape to mask off an area towards the bottom of the card. I stamped the holly leaves and berries. I carefully removed the post-it tape and I noticed some uneven edges with the stamping. So, onto plan B, I stamped the sentiment on a white strip and matted with some gold cardstock. Crisis averted!

Make Snowmen from Ornaments Dies

Hi, friends, Chark here today with you on Christmas Eve! Such an exciting day of the year, with lots of anticipation. I remember never being able to sleep on Christmas Eve. One night, my oldest sister got us up to see Rudolph in the sky…our middle sister didn’t believe it was Rudolph, but I saw the glowing red light, so I knew she was right 🙂

il_570xN.1261437982_qqyx

Today I’ve taken the Ornaments Infinity Dies and turned them into something new…snowmen! I’ve used these dies in a variety of ways (including Santa and Rudolph here) and I’m really enjoying creating something new with them and getting my money’s worth, lol!

IMG_5352

This guy just uses the large ornament die for the head and hat and one of smaller ornaments for his nose. I used a scrap of red cardstock and the Hero Arts Circle Infinity dies for the eyes and pompon.

IMG_5350

This guy uses the same circles and ornaments for his features and hat. I just cut one circle in half for his laughing eyes.

These came together super quick and can be used as ornaments, tags or cards.

Wishing you a lovely day and holiday season!

Christmas Wrap with Hero Arts

Aloha and happy Saturday friends!  My apologies for the delay.  It’s been busy around here with baking and wrapping gifts.  There’s nothing like a homemade gift and having homemade wrapping paper can be a bonus too!

Hero Arts Christmas Wrap

I took white tissue paper and my Hero Arts Ombre inks and started stamping away using the Hero Arts Christmas Messages (which is on sale).  I made sure the pattern was stamped in a way that I didn’t have to worry about the sentiment being upside down.  When buying wrapping paper I’m always conscious of one way designs…drives me crazy…haha!  Another tip is having another paper to stamp on.  I learned this the hard way realizing my inks bled through the tissue paper on to my desk.

Hero Arts Christmas Wrap

Here’s the gift all wrapped up…see what I mean about having the sentiment stamped in various ways?  I think this would be a cool way to make a card set for friends and family and wrap it up for fun!

Hero Arts Christmas Wrap

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!  Mahalo for all of your comments and visits to the blog this past year.  Sending virtual hugs to you all for a blessed New Year!!

Ornaments Infinity Dies in a New Way

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today sharing a Santa card I made with my Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies. I think he turned out pretty cute!

  1. I used the dies shown below for the deer and for Santa (he has two dies…one red and one white).
  2.  I cut a rounded slit in the white paper ornament and slid in a kraft circle.
  3.  I added a little kraft lip to the top of the white piece.
  4. On the face, I cut two black ornament hangers for Santa’s eyes. I used the inside of the black ornament hangers for Rudolph’s eyes.
  5. I cut circles from dies for Rudolph’s nose and Santa’s pompon.
  6. I took the black circles from the ornament hangers and use as Rudolph’s eyes.
  7. I added clear Nuvo Clear Crystal Drops to both character’s eyes and Rudolph’s nose.

IMG_5302

For the background piece, I first watercolored the card and after it dried, I placed the stencil down and used a slightly different watercolor. After that dried, I used Nuvo Aquamarine Mousse (love this stuff!) with the same stencil on top. I had a lot of fun finding new uses for my Ornaments Infinity Dies!

I’m entering this one over at A Blog Named Hero for their Winter Holiday Challenge…join me here if you love your Hero Arts!

Happy Monday!

Hero Arts Color Layering Joy Message Christmas Card

Can you believe it? It’s almost Christmas. Yikes – I have so much to do before the man with the red suit visits. The one thing I seem to find time to do, is craft. Here’s another Christmas card.

I definitely needed to use my MISTI for this card. It helped to align the stamps and for the solid “JOY”, I was able to re-stamp to get good ink coverage. I stamped both the outline “JOY” and solid “JOY” and felt that the card needed a bit something more. So, I added the berry sprigs in some of the open spaces. Since Christmas is such a special time of year, I added some sparkle with a strip of silver glitter paper.

snowflake Christmas card

Hello everyone!!! Is anyone else still working on the occasional Christmas card? I don’t have many more to do, but I’m still not done.

merry christmas snow

I started my card by using an old HA snowflake stencil to apply some silver glitter paste. I then stamped some smaller snowflakes around the larger ones in blue and silver ink.  On the panel I created a little scene with using some first, second and third generation stamping.  I added some blue snowflakes and the silver embossed sentiment, to finish the card.

Last Chance Christmas Cards & Hero Arts Sale!

Hero Arts Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s getting down to the wire for mailing your holiday cards, good news is we have a ton of sale stuff in the store you can use! I made this card using mostly all sale stuff, and you can replicate very inexpensively!

I started with a white card front trimmed to 4×5.25 and using some masking paper and a circle die to create a window for ink blending. Before blending, I stamped my bear, masked him off, then stamped the owl and mouse. I masked them off, and masked off an area for the ground, and began ink blending the pink area, shifted my ground mask to the sky, and blended onthe blue. When everything was blending I removed all the masked, and copic colored my images.

For my sentiment I used a fun Hero Arts wood stamp, stamped in versafine and clear heat embossed.
To finish, I embellished with with assorted Nuvo drops, white gel pen, wink of stella and a few silver snowflakes!

All supplies are linked below and many from the a2z store are ON SALE! Grab the holiday animals set for only $8! Ever better, if you spend over $25 use my discount code KRISTINA15 for an addition 15% off BUT stock is very limited on sale items.

Coffee Hopping with Santa Snacks

Hi, it’s Chark here today sharing the cutest gingerbread boy and cocoa mug stamps from Hero Arts. I love anything gingerbread, from the cake to cookies to the adorable stamps this time of year and the wallpaper on my phone! So, of course I had to have the Santa Snacks Stamp & Cut set when I saw it. While I didn’t use the “mad” gingerbread boy with the bite out of him, I love him and will be using him in some fashion this holiday season…probably on a tag of baked goodies.

g

With this stamp and cut set, I made a large tag for the holiday and a shaped card. I cut out the largest ornament in white and kraft with the Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity dies and then stamped with Distress Oxides. They give a cleaner stamped image than the Distress Inks and you can use water on them too to color the image like I did on the white ornament card.

Here’s a closer look at each ornament.

I used a white Prismacolor pencil and a white Uniball pen, along with a couple other Prismacolor pencils. Happy Coffee Hopping, my caffeinated friends! Enter your coffee/tea/cocoa project to try to win from a2z Scrapbooking and LOTS of other companies! And if you want to see another project using this stamp set, check out Cindy’s adorable gingerbread step card here.

Santa Snacks Step Card

It is almost Christmas time!!  What kind of cookies are you preparing for Santa?  🙂

This year I am a little busy so I didn’t actually make any cookies yet.  But I had stamped a lot of gingerbread cookies.  They are for my “mountain fold step card” inspired by this month’s challenge theme: Make It Pop.

The height of each fold from back to front (in inches) are: 3.5, 1.5 and 1.  Width of card is 5.5 inches.  The light bulbs are cut fron pattern paper and I added Sprinkled Sugar on top to give it some texture and shine.  Not sure if you notice, but the hollies on each end are glued onto the pattern paper, but the center one is attached with foam adhesive, and the other two are half on paper and half popped up. I wanted to create a gradual 3D effect, if this term exists.  🙂

Here’s a view from the front and center.
