Hero Arts – Rain or Shine

Hello everyone!

It’s Donna here to share this cute shape card made with the Hero Arts, “Nesting Clouds Infinity Dies”.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts digital file “Rain or Shine”, the background, the rainbow and clouds came from the Hero Arts digital file “April Showers”.  I am loving the challenge this month which is “Take Shape”, you can use any shape card and use at least one Hero Arts product on your card to qualify for the prize.

I wanted to let you all know this will be my last post on a2z Scrapbooking!  I have enjoyed my almost three years with this design team.  I will be back playing along with the challenges if time permits!  I will always be a Hero Arts lover and will continue to use their products!  Thank you Linda for the opportunity and I wish you and the store much success.  So on to my card………….

closer look at the card

How I put my card together:

I was so excited about getting my card together, I completely forgot to take pictures, but this is a simple card to created.

1.  I used the second of the largest cloud die and cut two,

2.  I scored about 1/2 inch on the second cloud so the card will stand,

3.  I used my computer to arrange everything I wanted on my card and printed it out on the Gina K premium white card stock,

4.  I used the third cloud and die cut the printed elements out,

6.  I colored the rainbow and clouds with copics

5.  I printed the rainbow again and cut out the clouds and popped them up over the clouds,

7.  I finished the card off by adding some Hero Arts sequins called Ombre Ocean.

Simple card!  I can’t wait to see what you create on this fun challenge.

Hero Arts Winged Friends

Hi, friends, Chark here today with my favorite flower stamp, the Hero Arts Large Hydrangea as a background stamp instead of the focus image. It’s still beautiful and fun to color, but it’s only a supporting player for the main image from the digital collection, Winged Friends (just $2.99 for four beautiful images.)

a

I used Prismacolor pencils on the butterfly and Tombow markers on the flowers and leaves.

IMG_3984

I used white embossing powder after I stamped the flowers in Versamark ink and the white lines help keep the watercolor effects of the Tombow markers right where I wanted them. The bleeding and mixing of colors was controlled in each flower this way. Couldn’t love this flower stamp more and there’s just one in stock in the store! If it sells out, you can always special order it at a2z Scrapbooking at no additional cost!

To finish this project, I cut out the stamped panel, adhered it to a white gift bag and added silver border stickers and some ribbon from my stash. It’s ready to go to a birthday party now!

Happy Saturday!

Let City Adventure Shape Your Card W/ Hero Arts Digitals

This car is over 5 inches long and the height is almost 3 inches.  It opens from the top.  I took some Ranger Markers and water to color the car.  This digital car is easy to cut out by hand and I just cut the inside paper in the general shape of the car by holding the car and cutting the paper under the car.  You just crease the line on the cut car with a Score-pad and glue the top car onto the bottom shape.  I always wanted to make this car bigger and NOW it is bigger!    The cool thing about digitals is that they can be made any size.  I colored the car with the marker and then ran my water pen over the colors.  I think one of my pens was low on color and that is why the door looks a different color.

I hope you like my “News” car.

Thinking of you Poppy with Hero Arts

Welcome.  Dawn here to share my shaped card for this month’s challenge.  I have used my favourite Poppy stamp and die for this card.

My card base is made with by die cutting two Spellbinders dies and glued them together at the top.   I trimmed a smidgen off the bottom curve on the back to allow the card to stand up.    I used some Patterned paper for my inner panel.   On a separate piece of card stock I stamped the poppy in Hero Arts inks – Soft Cantaloupe and Punch Chalk (discontinued) and Distress Ink – Aged Mahogany.  The stem is in Emerald  Green.   I used the matching dies to cut out the Poppy.

I did have a little mishap when stamping the sentiment…. as I went to pull the sentiment off the backing sheet (it was the first time I used this sentiment) and I tore it!

With much butting and wiggling, to say the least, I managed to get the sentiment stamped.

Guest Designer Linda Trace

Join us in welcoming our Guest Designer for May, Linda Trace! You may know Linda from a lot of places, including co-founding A Blog Named Hero. Linda’s love of Hero Arts and her amazing talent maker her an ideal designer here at a2z Scrapbooking. Thanks, Linda, for sharing this cool card and teaching us to use Distress Oxides in a different way!
Hi everyone!

It’s Linda, I’m super SUPER excited to be here today as guest designer for this month!

I created a card that is simple, but really shows off the amazing products I used.  Distress Oxides. Have you tried them yet?! I only needed to see one video of them in use and I was smitten. I’ve had them for a few weeks now and I’ve barely stopped playing with them–seriously amazing!!

I wanted to really show how they stand ‘up’ off dark cardstock.

Here is my card:

FullSizeRender
To start, I created a top folding horizontal notecard using kraft cardstock, then I cut a panel of black cardstock to 5.5″ wide by 3 3/4″ tall.

I took Broken China, Vintage Photo and Wilted Violet, and one by one, swiped them onto the black cardstock, pressing firmly, then lifting up off the cardstock, before I reached the bottom.

For stamps, I used the delightful Hero Arts set Road Trip (https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/277077318/hero-arts-road-trip-cl973-clear-stamps?ga_search_query=road+trip&ref=shop_items_search_2)

I coloured the images in with Copic markers, that I matched to the swipes of Oxide.  I then fussy cut around them, leaving a small white border.  I added some white detail to the caravan and tent using a Molotow Paint Pen (but you could use these https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Uni-Ball-Pen-Signo-Gel-WHITE-Two-Pack-1919994-1919994U?currency=USD).

The sentiment, I stamped in Versamark ink, then heatset using Hero Arts White embossing powder.

That’s it! Super quick and easy, but thanks to the oxides, it turned out so effectively.

Thanks for joining me! I hope you’ll come back again soon

Linda

Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia

Hi friends! This month we are celebrating “getting to know you”…well, really me! I’ve definitely been MIA but I’m back with this absolutely gorgeous flower, Artistic Dahlia from Hero Arts. I LOVE flowers AND stencils, so a match made in heaven!

Have you joined our challenge this month? If not, show us your creations HERE!

3700b-get-to-know-you

I stamped the image on Ranger water-color paper then colored with Copics and colored pencils, once complete, I outlined the entire image with a Sharpie.

The background was created with Wilted Violet Oxide Ink and Hero Arts Moss; I shifted the stencil just slightly before adding the green. Once complete, I spritzed the panel with glimmer mist and splattered on some watered down Ranger black enamel accents. The stencil is Crossing Waves from Hero Arts.

Color Layering Flamingo, my favorite from Hero Arts

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you another one of my favorite stamps from Hero Arts. This is the month of our favorites products and my favorites are the color layering stamps! Today I am using the Color Layering Flamingo. Take a look at my card:

Color Layering Flamingo, my favorite from Hero Arts

I have to be honest with you: at first I thought that the layering stamps were very hard to use but I recently discovered that I was very wrong. Color layering stamps are very easy to play with and very versatile because you can exchange colors and exchange the layers to create different looks and results in your images. I definitely love them and believe me Hero Arts has the most beautiful and complete collection.

To create my card I used whisper white card stock and different colors of inks. First I stamped the two grass images using two different colors of green. I used Green Apple and Moss from the Rain Forest Bold Ink Cubes. Then I stamped the legs of the Flamingo with the Tide Pool Shadow Ink Mid Tone. I used the same color to stamp the first layer of the body of the flamingo. For the second layer I used Aegean Bold Ink and for the third layer Aquatic Bold Ink, all from Hero Arts.

Color Layering Flamingo, my favorite from Hero Arts

The sentiment was stamped with India Ink Black and to finalize the card I added some ink splatters with glimmer mist. I created a tiny black border over both sides of the decorated layer using basic black card stock and I pasted the entire layer over the pool party card base.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

Hello everyone!

If you have not figured it out, the theme is Spring and you need to use coffee, tea or cocoa image on your project. The hop will run from March 24-31.

On my card I am featuring the Hero Arts stamp digital kit called  “Caffeine Fix”.  This is a great set to have, it has many coffee, tea and cocoa images and lots of sentiments. On my card, I used the coffee cup image and resized them and put lots of cups on my card.  I colored each one with copic markers – B2, 4, 6, YG21, 03, 17, 67, Y17, 38, YR68, R81, 83, 85 and V20, 22, 25.  I wanted to use bright colors since the Coffee Lovers Hop is all about Spring.  I also wanted to use a stencil since the challenge this month with a2z is “Playing with Stencils”.   The stencil I used is called Confetti, which I sponged Hero Arts Soft Pool on the background.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Stamp Set Thank You Messages.

Hero Arts Black Butterfly

It’s my day to share with you again… some more stenciled inspiration.    Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.

The other day I saw a video by Ingrid Blackburn where she used embossing paste with a stencil, shook on some Colourbursts/Brusho’s and spritzed with water.  I have something called Pixie Powder which is similar to these with lots of mica powder in them.   I thought I’d give it a go.

It has produced such a pretty pale pastel background as I went lightly with the powders.  Did get a bit of seepage but it adds to the whole look.    I have used Hero Arts Swirl Stencil (currently out of stock but you can do a special order – check out the store HERE)

Once my panel had dried, I die cut it with a rectangle die from DieNamics (MFT) and layered onto black then onto a white base.  I die cut the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy Die from black card.  The sentiment is from THIS Hero Arts stamp and die set.  (currently on sale in the A2Z store!)

Hero Arts CM131 Purr Card

Hi! Happy Tuesday! I can’t believe that we’re almost halfway through March. Where is the time going? I’m grateful that I still manage to find some time to sit at my craft table. Here’s my latest card

When I saw this Hero Arts stamp set, I knew that I had to have it. I love kitties … I miss my last kitty, Bayley. She was quite a character. You definitely knew who was the boss – not me! I had a difficult time picking out my favourite one or two kitties, so I decided to use the sentiment related to 9 lives so that I could include 9 kitties. I stamped them with black pigment ink and then added colour with copics.

Our current challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking is

playing-with-stencils

Please remember to use a Hero Arts product as the main image. If you’re looking for more Hero Arts products, consider a2z Scrapbooking etsy store. When your cart exceeds $25, use my code sue15 for 15% off.
