Hero Arts You Are My Happy

Hello there,

Just in time for Valentine’s Day,  I got a couple of Valentine’s cards to share.  This month’s challenge theme is Mood Board.

47392877_10161287443590475_6616865640290451456_n

There are many beautiful elements to choose from this mood board, but I am most intrigued by the scroll of color swatches on the left top corner.   So I went ahead and created a watercolor panel with vertical stripes of the same colors (at the least very close).

Next I die cut the Floral Heart diagonally, I thought this is more interesting, and then white heat embossed the sentiment.  Instead of using foam adhesive, I die cut two extra time the die cut in red card stock and glued all three layers together to make a thick die cut.  I glued it onto a charcoal grey card base (color of the door in the mood board) and then embellished with sequins.

a2z_20190209_floral_heart_valentine_1

My next card is very CAS.  I stamped multiple times the smiley heart from the Everything Smiles Stamp and Cut set on heavy weight white card stock, and watercolored them using the same colors as before, and hand cut.  I line them up on a white card base and glue down,  and added a thin stripe of the color swatche.  Then I stamped the sentiment in black, drew a tiny heart inside the ‘o’ of the work ‘love’.  Not sure if you’ve noticed but I score at 1/16 of an inch all around the panel to give a “finished look”.  🙂

That’s all from me today.  Scroll down to get the challenge details and join in the fun!

Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Valentine Card

Howdy! Here we are in cold February in a lot of places.

My card today could be used for Valentines or an anniversary and let’s not forget just because. To go along with the monthly challenge for February the hearts and the word love inspired me.

a2z scrapbooking February challenge

Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Digital Kit

For my card I started out with the sketchy hearts from the Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Digital Kit. This kit also has some images that you could use for coffee rings. Back to the card.. I knew I wanted to put the words among the hearts so I put the first heart in a Word document and copied and pasted the number of hearts I needed along with sizing them. I just spaced them out so that I could fit the words in. I then printed them and cut out the panel.

Then I went through my plentiful stash of chipboard letters and found a size and style that I liked. I put a couple different layers of red “stuff” on them until I got the look I liked. I think there is some Copic coloring, Distress Paint, and Distress Stain. So what I ended up with is a matte finish mottled look. I like the look a lot and I think it works well for a guy. I don’t like doing shiny glittery stuff for my guy. And guess who will be getting this…

Then I just layered up some panels and attached the letters. The top panel with the hearts has a piece of fun foam behind it to give some dimension.

For a little extra something I overlapped two of those hearts, printed them and added them to the inside. I cut out the inside panel with a die.

Written In The Stars Card

Hello Crafty Friends – Annie here with a quick card.

Today, I am using Hero Arts Constellation Printable PT101 Digital these printables are perfect for quick and easy cards. I like to have them on hand – printed and cut.image 0

I used the aqua colored constellation, the multi-linked star, and the sentiment. I cut off a point from the star to create a constellation shape heart. I used dark blue cardstock for my card front, layering white cardstock an1/8″ smaller. Then, matted the aqua colored star print onto dark blue shimmer cardstock. I did the same for the sentiment. The sentiment you & me is from Hero Arts DC175 Love Stamp & Cut Set.

For finishing touches, I added some tiny stars and heart sequins.

Hero Arts Cactus Animals

a2z scrapbooking anything goes January challenge

Hi its Gwendolyn here, your desperate housewife, and I’m back today to share a card I made using Hero Arts Cactus Animals, which you can find over at the a2z Scrapbooking store, to remind you to join in our “Anything Goes” challenge which ends  in a few days.

Today’s card was done rather quickly as the idea hit me at 22h30 just before I went to bed…and 1h later, I was in bed! I first inked up the background with Tim Holtz’s distress inks and spritzed a little water all over it. While waiting for it to dry, I stamped the critters using Hero Arts Black ink coloured my little cactus animals, which I had cut with my Brother Scan and Cut, using my Zig clean color real brush pens.

Before adding my little cute cactus animals, using my Zig pen by tapping it against my bone folder, but any small stick will do too, I splattered a little brown ink on the yellow part of my card to resemble “sand”. I then stuck on my little critters using ScrapPerfect Best Glue Ever. The sentiment comes from Hero Arts Thank You messages set and it was stamped onto one of my newest purchases, one of the rounded rectangles from the Hero Arts Infinity dies set.

Aren’t those critters just adorable? If you would like to get them at the a2z Scrapbooking store, remember to use my personal code Gwendolyn15 to save 15% off your purchases of $25 and above! And if they’re already sold out cause they’re freakin’ adorable, you can always put in a custom order at the store by clicking on the “Request Custom order” tab at the bottom of the items list on the left.

I look forward to seeing your gorgeous designs in the link up of our “Anything Goes” challenge here. Have a great weekend!

Hugs,Gwendolyn

Hero Florals Nasturtium Hello

Hello hello,

Cindy here to share a floral card created using only one stamp set.

I first stamped the main image in Soft Grey Shadow ink multiple times on a white card panel. Then on separate white card stock I stamped the same images in Antique Linen Distress ink and did some no-line watercolors and hand cut.

To make the background more interesting without over powering the focal images, I painted the blooms with Perfect Pearl solution and added sentiment in black. I die cut the bottom edge of the panel with a border cutting die. Then it’s adhered to a wine color card base. Then the hand cut blooms and leaves are adhered with glue and foam dots.

Oh almost forgot, the center of the blooms are dotted with a gold gel pen. 🙂

I hope you enjoy my project today. Although I used the clear Nasturtium set, the Flowering Nasturtium Woodmount stamp offer the same image. There’s plenty time to play along our January challenge – Anything Goes. Scroll down to get the challenge info and my promote code for shopping at the a2z Store. Flowers for Coloring

Die Cut Flowers for Coloring

Howdy! Here I am with some die cut flowers to lighten up the cold, rainy and in some places snowy winter days.

Flowers for Coloring

I started out by putting down some watercolors on watercolor paper using a little set my husband gave me for Christmas. Some of the colors have a pearly shimmer but it is hard to see in the photo. Next I stamped several of the flowers and leaves from the Flowers for Coloring stamp set over the watercolor areas using Versamark ink & Hero Arts white embossing powder. I used the matching Flowers for Coloring die set to cut them out.

I then dry embossed a panel using a Sizzix embossing folder. That was glued to the card base.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark & heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I die cut this out using the matching dies.

I layered up the flowers and leaves and glued them down along with the sentiment.

There’s still time to create a card for the January challenge Anything Goes. Another idea for these flowers, would be to stamp over patterned paper and die cut or hand cut them out.

You Make Me So Happy Card

Hello Crafty Friends – Annie here with a quick CAS card today.

I am using the Instant Download Hero Arts Winged Friends DK033 Butterfly Digital Kit and Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Happy Set DC150

I simply printed the digital download and cut the butterfly I wanted to work with from the rest. Colored it in with some Distress inks for a soft watercolor effect.  Then, Fussy cut it. Next, I die cut the word Happy 3x – twice from plain white cardstock one once from Glitter Gold cardstock. Stack and glued the layers to create a chipboard word. I stamped the sentiment You make me so – on light blue cardstock and cut it into a thin strip. I adhered all the elements on to card front panel which measures 4″ X 5-1/4″. I then adhered that onto black cardstock for a nice mat. Finished it all off with 4 simple Liquid Pearls on the wings.

Hero Arts Fairy baby card

Hi everyone! Its Gwendolyn and I’m back today to inspire you to join us in our “Anything Goes” challenge for January. You get a chance to win a free digital stamp set from the a2z Scrapbooking store and if you use any Hero Arts or Sugartree products, you get a $20 gift voucher to spend at the store! If you need to get any of those products, make sure you use my personal code Gwendolyn15 to get a 15% discount on any of your orders $25 and above.

Hero arts fairy card products.jpg

Now onto my card. I just got the Hero Arts December monthly kit, the first time for me but I just loved all the fairy images, perfect for kids birthday cards or as I made here, baby cards. I made this card for a friend who’s sending it to a new mum of a baby girl called Sophie. I first stamped all the images using Hero Arts inks, then coloured them with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. They glide on like watercolour and blend really easily and boy do they sparkle and shine!

sparkles mo.jpg

I didn’t use this fairy in the end as the coordinating die slipped while I was cutting it on my Big Shot Plus…I’m terrible at diecutting, even when I add tape, it doesn’t come out perfectly centred, I end up fussy cutting to finish it properly!🙄  To know where to add my images, I used the rectangle from Sue Wilson’s infinity double stitched rectangle dies in the middle of the card, as a guide.

name placement.jpg

Once all my stamps were coloured and diecut, I cut the rectangle and got my daughter Ines to write the name of the baby as she writes so well! I flicked on some blue and pink paint onto my card by wetting (a little) my Zig clean color brush marker tips and tapping it against the side of a pen.

Hero arts fairy card cu.jpg

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I inspired you enough to join us in our Anything Goes challenge. I look forward to seeing your projects. Have a great week!

Hugs,Gwendolyn
