Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Valentine Card

Howdy! Here we are in cold February in a lot of places.

My card today could be used for Valentines or an anniversary and let’s not forget just because. To go along with the monthly challenge for February the hearts and the word love inspired me.

Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Digital Kit

For my card I started out with the sketchy hearts from the Hero Arts Brush and Splatter Digital Kit. This kit also has some images that you could use for coffee rings. Back to the card.. I knew I wanted to put the words among the hearts so I put the first heart in a Word document and copied and pasted the number of hearts I needed along with sizing them. I just spaced them out so that I could fit the words in. I then printed them and cut out the panel.

Then I went through my plentiful stash of chipboard letters and found a size and style that I liked. I put a couple different layers of red “stuff” on them until I got the look I liked. I think there is some Copic coloring, Distress Paint, and Distress Stain. So what I ended up with is a matte finish mottled look. I like the look a lot and I think it works well for a guy. I don’t like doing shiny glittery stuff for my guy. And guess who will be getting this…

Then I just layered up some panels and attached the letters. The top panel with the hearts has a piece of fun foam behind it to give some dimension.

For a little extra something I overlapped two of those hearts, printed them and added them to the inside. I cut out the inside panel with a die.

Hero Arts Cowboy Adventure

Hi all, it’s Gwendolyn here and I’m back to showcase the Hero Arts “Cowboy Adventure” stamp set which you can find from the a2z Scrapbooking store. I love this stamp set as I can make masculine cards for graduation, farewell, retirement… or even a birthday card for someone who loves travelling!

Canyon sunset

The idea for this card came from our visit to the Grand Canyon afew years ago when we were doing a family road trip on the Route 66 & I will always remember the sunsets during that trip as they were spectacular!

I started out by blending in Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmelade & Mustard seed distress inks to create my sunset background.  I then stamped in the mountains with Hero Arts Caramel hybrid ink  & coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers. The cowboy was stamped in with Hero Arts black ink and to make the large arched rock, I  stamped the arch image twice, fussy cut them, and used the underside of one to create the opposite rock formation. I then trimmed them down so they would fit snugly over the cowboy and adhered them on foam tape so it would give the illusion that the cowboy was behind this rock formation.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped with Versamark clear ink on black card stock and heat embossed with Hero Arts White detail embossing powder. I cut the sentiment strip so that it would resemble mountains too and mounted it on foam tape too.

Well I hope you liked my card and if you would like this stamp set, you can custom order it from the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store. Don’t forget to use my personal code, which you can find below, for a 15% discount for every order over $25!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope YOU never stop exploring!
