Watercolor and Floral Hero Arts Die

Aloha and happy Thursday friends!  Have you got your hands on the latest Hero Arts products for 2017?  You can find most of them in the a2z Scrapbooking store!  I snagged the fabulous Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die  which die cuts a BEAUTIFUL oval shaped border with pretty leaves, flowers, and even sweet little butterflies!  Check it out…

I was going to keep it simple and just die cut from white cardstock, but I had my Derwent Watercolor Pencils out and was in the mood to color!

The blue background was created with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.  I then stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.  I wanted a little more dimension and used a coat of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White to accentuate the handwritten look.

For the final touch I decided to get fancy and flicked on some Finetec Gold paint for a touch of shimmer.

The die is really gorgeous and you can check out my Instagram @stampnhi for a different look using the die.  I can definitely see myself using this one a lot!  Perfect for any occasion!!

Hero Arts Orchid Branches Red

Hello everyone,

It’s Cindy.  I use this month’s challenge theme: Any Shade of Red as my inspiration of today’s card.  It’s a fairly simple card, except I use partial die cutting to add dimension.  You could consider it a one layer card with an attitude!  😀

My process:

  • On white card stock, ink and stamp the orchid branch from Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid in a Pot set in a pleasing composition in various shades of Red.
  • Stamp sentiment in black.
  • Distress with Spun Sugar all around.
  • Use matching frame cut and partial die cut at various length of the branches.
  • Layer and adhere red color paper on card base.
  • Add foam adhesive behind partial die cut branches with various thickness, the most thick at the tip of the branch, less closer to the base.
  • Adhere orchid panel to card.  Remove backing of foam tape from branches and adhere to card.  Slightly curl the flower petal to create more dimension.

Here’s a closer look.

The Orchid in a Pot stamp set is still available at the a2z store.  Also new items from the 2017 Catalog are available.  Go shopping and use code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.

And come join in this month’s challenge:  Any Shade of Reds.  Use some shade of red and Hero Arts products such as stamp, stencil, digital stamps, die cut as main focal point.   And you could win a $25 gift card to the store.

Hero Arts Butterfly Digital in Any Shade of Red

The theme for February is Any Shade of Red.   I made a Sympathy card for a friend who lost his wife for our co-workers to sign.  She was the sweetest person.  We were all in a daze when we heard.  The card is large so more people can sign – it’s an 8 1/2 inch by 12 inch card stock folded in half.  I think this card shows we care.

One Layer Card With Hero Arts Color Layering Cardinal

Hello everyone… Helen is here. Today I am sharing a quick way to create CAS – One Layer Card.

Color Layering stamp sets are my favorite from Hero Arts. I often stretch the use of these stamp sets, like the Color Layering Cardinal stamp set. It is a Holiday stamp set, but I use this set for everyday card, such as thank you card.

I pair the Cardinal Color Layering stamp set with Thanks Stamp & Cut set to create this CAS – One Layer Thank You Card.

I stamped the all the image on a watercolor paper with archival ink pads and then I added some soft light blue to create a sky background. Then I decided to add some glitter with my glitter brush on all over the surface.

Check out the glitter and shiny on the card… don’t you love it? 🙂

Color Layering Bird and a Branch from Hero Arts

Hi stampers!

Ilina’s here today and I am sharing a colorful but simple card. For my card I used the oldie but goodie set from Hero Arts called Color Layering Bird and Branch. For my background I used Neenah white 110 lb card stock and some Distress Oxide inks to blend the background, then I spritzed some water to create the little splatters. I was trying to achieve a background mimicking sunset. I stamped the bird on white card stock and trimmed with paper snips.

Next I assembled my front panel and adhered it to black card base.

Scroll down to watch the video on how I created this card.

And don’t forget to play along with this month’s challenge which is “Any shade of red” and shop over at A2ZScrapbooking store

Use the code “Ilina15” in order to get 15% off your order of$25+ in the A2Z scrapbooking store

New Orleans Mardi Gras Cards

Hi, friends, it’s Chark today with a couple of cards using the New Orleans wooden stamp from Hero Arts. I had to have this stamp because New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. (Never been out of the country, so I can’t say the world, but I imagine it’d still be at the top of the list.)

I first visited in high school when I unexpectedly got to take the French class trip to New Orleans…it’s where a friend of mine actually became my boyfriend, so you can see why the city is a favorite of mine, not to mention the food, the music, the feel of the French Quarter, the shops, the architecture, the very essence of just being on Bourbon Street. I’ve been back twice and never at Mardi Gras, but I always think of New Orleans at this time of year.

Both cards here use the Mermaid Ombre ink, which is gorgeous, for the backgrounds. The first card I wiped the pad onto vellum and then rubbed off some extra and let it dry. Be aware it takes awhile (read hours) to air dry on vellum. I used the ink to stamp the city skyline as well. I thought it looked like Mardi Gras colors (though the green is more teal), so I added some gold glitter washi and sequins.

This next card is a bit different and I used a white card for the background panel. I simply laid the ink pad onto the paper several times and then turned the pad sideways and patted the ink pad onto the previous inking, to make a plaid pattern. I added a white strip of paper with heart die cuts and added sequins and a digital sentiment (birthday is inside).

Please join us in our February Any Shade of Red With Hero Arts Challenge to try to win the $25 gift code to the store. Go here for the details.

Hope you have a great day and Mardi Gras (February 28 this year)! Oh, and that boyfriend I dated in New Orleans? I married him and took him to New Orleans for our honeymoon 🙂

Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print duet

Cindy here to share a couple cards featuring the Hero Art Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print stamp.  This stamp is great for any celebration theme card.

First up is a card that could be both an invitation or birthday, depends on how you write up the inside.

My process:

  • On white card base, use inking tool and sponge edges and center of card with Barn Door.
  • Ink Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print cling stamp using various ColorBox Pigment Ink randomly, stamp on white card stock slightly smaller than card base in length, and clear heat emboss.
  • Position ‘party’ (from the 2016 Dec My Monthy Hero Kit) die cut in center of stamped panel, die cut.  *Remember to keep the small piece of the letter ‘a’.
  • Stamp with black and clear heat emboss “let’s” on ‘sprinkle’ panel.
  • Use foam adhesive and mount ‘sprinkle’ panel onto card base, along with the small piece of the letter ‘a’.
  • On white card stock stamp, color, and die cut cake, candle, and mask.  Clear heat emboss all three pieces.
  • Adhere to card front as shown.

I really like how it turned out.  You may notice some parts of the image is not well coated with ink, but that’s okay because it adds a little visual dimension.  After all when you throw a bunch of sprinkles up in the air, you don’t see each pieces clearly right?!  🙂

My second card is a CASE of Jennifer McGuire’s Easy Ombre Backgrounds card except I added silver glitter tape on both edge of card base.  To conform to this month’s challenge: Any Shades of Reds, both my cards has Barn Door as a predominate color.

The Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkle Bold Print stamp is available at the a2z store, get yours today.  Use code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.

Paper Layering Daisy Hello

Angie here today with a fun card with lots of red on it for our February Challenge!

I copied the technique Jennifer McGuire recently showed in a video.  I varied it a little by cutting the daisy out of the center, and popped the daisy and the sentiments  up on fun foam.  The little black notes are a tiny punch I have in my stash.

I used Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy, Hero Arts Hello stamp and die set, Hero Arts CG691 Garden Bold Prints background stamp (out of stock but you can special order it), Hero Arts White Embossing powder, white and black card stock, Hero Arts Red Ink.

I hope you will have time to join in the fun for this month’s  challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Hero Arts Color Layering Graphic Flowers Hello Friend Card

Living here in Vancouver, we’re used to rain during the winter months. This year, however, we’ve had colder than usual temperatures and more snow and ice that doesn’t seem to want to stay away. So, for my card today, I wanted to brighten things up and think SPRING!

Here’s my card

My spirit was certainly brighten making this card with all the great Hero Arts inks. I kept adding flowers in different colours, sometimes overlapping them. I made a banner (because I wasn’t sure where to put my sentiment) with the sentiment.

We’d love for you to join our monthly challenge here. Please be mindful that you need to use a Hero Arts product as the focal element on your creation.

The  a2z Scrapbooking etsy store is a great place to get your Hero  Arts supplies. When your cart is over $25, use my code Sue15 for a 15% discount.
