Hero Arts Infinity Tags Nesting Dies

When you just want to make tags out of scrap paper, just grab your old die cut machine (mines a Cuttlebug) and use your scraps.  I made several boxes for treats for my crew at work and needed some tags.  I really liked the new Hero Arts sets of Infinity Dies and grabbed some for the Hero Arts Blog Hop in October this year.  I love them and thought that our challenge this month got me in the tag mood.  Anything but a card means tags are perfect.  Here we go with my boxes ready to go with Tags.

I made three different boxes and gave the large size full of treats to my work staff, with others going to well deserving (well, in my eyes) friends. The tag that is glittery is when I opened my Wink of Stella pen and oops.  Loads of glittery stuff all over, so one tag has a bunch of glitter.

I hope you can see these tags, weather permitting clearer photos.infinity-large-picmonkey-box-tags-12-20-16

The smaller boxes have the smallest tag sizes.  Use any Hero Arts sentiment or image and you’re ready to go.

Holiday Houses with Nesting Dies

Embellish a Holiday House on a Hero Arts Tag

Time to embellish a tag.   I like seeing lots of snow ready to fall, but I don’t have to live in it.  I can see snow on the mountains in the winter and that’s good enough for me.  If I want to get closer, I can take a couple hours drive and bingo.    I guess that’s why I loaded this house with snow.  I like to see it.  I really like the new Nesting Tag dies too.  This is the larges and a really great size.  I paired the smallest of the tag set for a HO HO HO.

Be sure to visit the fun stamps and digital sets at A2Z.

Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags With a Hint of Embellishment

I thought some detailing might be nice to bring out an elegance to this set and I’m really amazed that I think I succeeded.  A little embellishment is sometimes all you need.  I made two cards with two different colored coffee cups, but the same embossing folder, stamps and stickers.  I hope you like these as much as I do.  I put Wink of Stella – GL White on both cups on the foam part.  The bronze seems to have pulled the white around and it looks like a foamy or creamy froth mixed with strawberry.

Close-up of the cup  – this could be whipped cream on a hot chocolate  –  YUM

I guess it could be foam on a coffee – obviously, I know nothing about coffee.

Coffee Cup Tags

I know this seems dark and strange.  If I can get a better photo, I will.  The coffee cup paper is a shinny bronze with Cup O”Joe inked on the stamp.

It reminds me of a creamy strawberry cream on top.

Antique Poinsettia

Antique Poinsettia Colored In

I’m featuring The Antique Poinsettia again because it’s a different take on the stamped image than my October 4th card.  I love the die cuts that go with this wood stamp.  It cuts nice and close, perfect for me.  I rarely use stenciling and I’m not sure why because I have some stencils I just love.  I thought the background color was more of a modern take on green.   I also used the outer layer as leaves, where I used all the layers as flower parts before.    The background is the same color, but deepened in the two corners.   Have fun with your layering.

I thought a close-up might be nice so you can see the silver embossing and the Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops.  I purchased the Glitter Drops from A2Z, so she might still have some left if you’d like to try them.  You can see how cleanly the dies cut here too.  As I said, I love the close cut.  I’m at A Bit of This and That.

A Hero Arts Antique Poinsettia

Just when I said, “I have enough holiday stamps”, Hero Arts comes out with stamp AND DIE sets I can’t resist.    You can purchase this as a set too.  I couldn’t believe this was a wood block stamp, but yes, it is.  I did a little white embossing on the background using the same stamp.  No chasing after additional stamps here.  I am looking at this poinsettia now and it’s quite amazing.  The red paper I used almost looks like velvet.  I keep holding back from touching it because I “know” it’s not velvet.  Yes, I guess I am crazy.

I first stamped the layers in Hero Arts White Unicorn ink and my stamp pad was a bit dry, so it didn’t stand out.  I then stamped the layers with Neon Pink and I love the look of texture the two stampings give. I first used Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops in Ruby Slippers and then wondered if I’d like Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops in Silver Moondust on top.  It looks pretty cool.

The true color is the dark red of the card above.  This photo gives you an idea of the wonderful veining on the layers.

Tag Me With Coloring Layering Butterflies

I thought of silver butterflies; I don’t know why.  But I went with it and I was happily surprised at the results.  The silver embossing just shines, but I couldn’t catch the sparkle just right.  I hope you enjoy the butterflies just flitting by on these tags.

Hero Arts Coffee Tag Tags & Frames

Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags

Are you making tags?  This is only the fourth day of the Tag Challenge for September.  Come along and join us.  I’m making Christmas tags because I couldn’t resist the new Coffee Cup Tags.  Honestly, WHO COULD? I didn’t realize these were meant to be tags because in the Hero Arts Winter catalog, I see these on cards.  Imagine my surprise when I actually realized the name.  I thought, how unoriginal I was to use these as tags.  But, they’re very nice tags.  Even though the dies come separate for the cup and the whipped cream on top, these are one piece tags.  I’ve made 11 tags in all.

  1. I stamped the cups first, leaving room enough to stamp the cream on top on lots of tags (twice as many stamped as tags shown here)
  2. I cut the paper in coffee cup sizes.
  3. I die cut the cup, leaving the top of the die cut over the edge of the plate on my Cuttlebug, so the outline was cut, but not the top rim.
  4. I then turned the image around so the cream die (long edge) bottom hung off the plate on my Cuttlebug, so the cream was cut, but not the rim sitting on top of the cup.

And there you have the simple story of using two dies on one image for one die cut image.  I haven’t use my NEON Hero Arts Inks in awhile, so I had a go with them.

Hero Arts Flutterbies

Hero Arts Flutterbies

Sometimes it’s just nice to color something that you can see the results almost immediately – instant gratification, so to speak.  I was in that mood today.  Some flutterbies were fluttering and flitting around my table, so I grabbed them and colored them.  I’ve been feeling better and better about leaving “white space” on my cards.  If you see little hairlike things at the bottom of my card, that’s my green grass going brown.  Trying to conserve water during our dry summer here in California.  I hope you enjoy these butterflies and use some too – before the summer flits by.  I don’t think I’ve ever colored the butterflies with such deep colors before.  Happy Summer Days!

Color It In with Destination San Francisco

Are you seeing double?  YES you are, one stamped image inside another.  I used this old-time Hero Arts Post Card stamp with the new Destination San Francisco stamp.  Lots of  bright distress inks make this pop.   I love the colors and design.  I made something similar when Hero Arts had a scramble.  But I like this one much better.   Now it’s time for you to “Color It In” and enter the A2Z Scrapbooking challenge.

Hero Arts Destination San Francisco

I found I like using the Destination San Francisco stamp to make a CAZ card, but one stamp should always have multiple uses.  I really enjoy using my Distress Inks and that’s how I I thought I’d color my stamped panel.  I love how it turned out. Fun to color and imageine all the colors you could use to make your own cards.  You could sponge most of the background and then touch up with Copic markers and use the Copic White pigment to whiten those clouds.
