Infinity Dies Are Versatile

Hi, friends, Chark here today. I needed a baby shower card so after checking Pinterest for ideas, I decided to make a baby carriage circle-shaped card. You can use the Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies to make this card. I used the smaller circles for the wheels and the Ornaments Infinity dies for the large circle.

IMG_5757

If you use the circles, when you die cut your folded cardstock, make sure the edge of the die is offset from the paper when you run it through your die cut machine. You’ll see the folded edge of the paper doesn’t come all the way to the edge of the die, so it won’t get cut through right there and you’ll have a card that opens. But only do a small bit (unlike the picture) so your card is mostly round.

If you use the largest of the Ornaments Infinity dies, all you do is leave the hanger of the ornament die off the edge and your card will be attached there.

maxresdefault

  1. I die cut one folded piece for the card and then ran it through with an embossing folder. I die cut another one and used that for the inside of the card for writing that wasn’t embossed. You’ll need to cut a shape out to make the carriage opening. It’ll look like Pac Man at this point ūüôā
  2. I die cut 4 smaller circles for the wheels and attached 2 to the front of the card and 2 to the back of the card, now it stands up on the wheels when opened.
  3. To the front, I added pink buttons and pink border punched paper and added flowers and a bow and pearls. You can decorate this however you want.

The infinity dies are so versatile, especially the round ones. I made some snowman cards here if you want to see those.

Happy Sunday!

Baby’s Footprint Memory Necklace Giveaway

Hello everyone!! ¬†Kymona here with a super cute Baby’s Footprint Memory Necklace project for you!! I have to admit, I had so much fun with this months challenge, Anything but a Card. ¬†It forced me to step out of my comfort zone.

Take a look at what I created for you today:

baby-footprint-memory-necklace-copy

I love how this necklace turned out.  So pretty and elegant at the same time.

When I was contemplating on what to create, I looked at all of the Hero Art stamp sets that I own.  When my hand fell on the So Sorry Stamp and Cut set, it hit me.  The tiny feet will fit inside the circle frame of the Heart Key Tray. Which I thought was perfect since it had two hearts on it. One for the mother and one for the baby!!

Here is how I created this necklace:

  1. I found a scrap piece of watercolor paper that I created awhile ago.
  2. I stamped the tiny feet on the piece of scrap with Hero Arts Black Ink and let it dry.
  3. Then I added glue to the back of the glass piece and pressed it on top of the tiny feet.
  4. Then I cleaned away all of the excess glue with Q-tip.
  5. Once the glue dried, I cut around the glass.
  6. I placed a piece of super stick tape inside the heart tray.
  7. I added the glass piece to the tray.
  8. Then I added the ball chain to finish off the necklace.

So what do you think? ¬†Wouldn’t it be nice to either get or receive a necklace like this. I hope this month has challenged you to really step out of your comfort zone and use your crafting supplies to create something other then a card!

Embossed Congrats

NOTICE: It looks like we’re having a bit of trouble with our InLinkz Link-up on our blog.  It seems to have a mind of its own and disappeared from the side-bar.  However, it found a home on the first day of March here.  The DT are trying to put it back where it came from, but until you see it in the usual place on the top right side, you’ll be able to enter here.

Now onto today’s card, I used Kelly’s Floral Tile Stencil and embossing paste on patterned paper for the background. ¬†Let’s take a look:

a2z_dtp_20160322

My process:

  • Trim pattern paper to fit standard card front, lay Hero Art Kelly’s Foral Tile Stencil on top, spread white embossing paste. ¬†Remove stencil and let dry.
  • Die cut sentiment on black card stock¬†once¬†and on lime card stock four times. ¬†Glue the lime sentiments on top of each other and finally the black one on the very top slightly offset. ¬†Set aside.
  • On peach card stock stamp foot print and die cut heart shape from¬†Hero Arts So Sorry Stamp and Cut set.
  • On white¬†banner¬†stamp “on your new baby” from Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and cut set. adhere on pale yellow banner.
  • Adhere everything as shown.

Here’s a close up:

Mini Cards In Pink and Blue

Hi, friends, Chark here today with some mini cards you can make to attach to a baby shower gift. I made one in blue and one in pink. The card is 3.25″ square and is meant to be tucked into a gift bag or punched and tied to a ribbon.

robots2I just love the little robot stamp set called Super Cool from Kelly Purkey that’s brand new in the store, so I snapped one up. It includes the phrase Domo Arigato, which I haven’t used yet, but think will come in handy at some point! These little phrases would be great for Father’s Day too.

domo arigatoHere’s the blue one up close and personal.

robot2And the pink one.

robotI used my Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and rhinestones to add some sparkle. The star background is the Stars Pattern stencil that I find myself using again and again.

If you look closely at this photo, you can see the glitter from the clear pen on the robot. I love glitter! And the pen worked as a waterbrush to spread some of the stamped color onto the robot. I used Distress Inks for the stamping and stenciling.

That’s it for today! Hope you have a fab day! Domo Arigato for reading my post!

Flower Frame

Hi, friends, it’s Chark today with a quick and easy gift for a baby shower or birthday or graduation or anytime!

IMG_6846I used two packs of paper flowers to decorate a plastic frame from the craft store. You can use glue dots or an atg or any adhesive you like that works with plastic. I added pearls to some of the flowers and painted some of the white/cream flowers with a bottle of Hero Arts yellow ink before attaching. It took less than half an hour from start to finish.

Then I inserted a baby picture…is there anything more adorable than a baby surrounded by flowers? Nope! It’s a picture of my son, even though I used the pink flowers cuz babies don’t care ūüôā

IMG_6824

I love that you get tons of these flowers in each pack and that they are so lightweight. And they’re under $4 a pack, so you can stock up. There are plenty of colors to choose from and I used part of a blush pack here with some of the cream and white pack.

Hope you’ll join in this month’s New Beginnings Challenge (new baby, graduation, wedding, etc) with your Hero Arts products and link it up here to try to win the $25 gift certificate to the store. Baby Congratulations

I’m so thrilled to be joining the a2z Scrapbooking Design Team and sharing my Hero Arts creations.

I love how easy is is to create a variety of baby cards using the new Stamp & Cuts Baby Set from Hero Arts.

il_570xN.668431533_9d5z

All you have to do is change the combination of papers and colors, and you could make an entire onesie collection.

AZ110514-wm

The set also includes a stamp to turn the onesie into a quick baby shower invitation.  For my card, I paired the onesie it with a stamp from Hero Arts Yay to make a baby shower card from a group of co-workers.

Our theme for this month is ‚ÄėAnything Goes‚Äô. You may enter up to five times to be eligible to win a $25.00 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store¬†with each entry.

As always, you can use Coupon Code STEPH15 for 15% off your order of $25.00 or more (before tax and shipping) in the a2z Store.
