Hero Arts Tag Die Cutting

Howdy! Welcome to a new year! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. They can be hectic but very nice with all the  family gatherings, decorations and of course delicious food.

Hero Arts Tag Infinity Dies

When I thought about a card to make I decided it would be for my brother. You know those sometimes hard to make masculine cards. So here we are with a safari theme which I think can work for a male or female.

I used the Hero Arts Tag Infinity dies to cut out, guess what, a tag. Then out came the Oxide Distress Inks. I blended 2 purples and 1 blue ink on Bristol paper.

I cut out the sunset circle using a die from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero June 2017 set and also used Bristol paper and blended Oxide inks. You can get this die by itself from Hero Arts.

For the tree and animals I blended some Black Soot Oxide Distress ink on Neenah paper and then cut them out using the dies from the My Monthly Hero kit. In real life they look like a chalky black. Note: Instead of the animal dies you could use Hero Arts Color Layering Elephant stamp set in the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store.  Hero Arts also has several sets that include lot’s of fun safari animals, trees, sentiments both dies and stamps.

For the background I stamped with Quick Quotes ink using the Hero Arts Mud Cloth Bold Prints stamp.

Hero Arts Mistletoe from Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut w/ You’re So Lovely

Hi, it’s Angie here today with some inspiration for this month’s Watercolor Challenge.  Hope you can join the fun – you might even be the lucky random winner!

I used the mistletoe from the new Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp and Cut along with a sentiment from one of my favorite Hero Arts sets – You’re So Lovely stamp set to make this card for a family member.  I stamped the mistletoe with Distress Inks, then die cut them and stacked them on top of each other.  I added Nuvo drops and twine to finish that part off.  I used lots of Distress Inks and water to watercolor and splatter the Tim Holtz watercolor paper panel then when it dried I stamped a large older background stamp from Hero Arts called “Large Plaid Panel” across the top.     (I should have done that first, but since I forgot, I used post it notes to mask off the white edge so I didn’t get the plaid on the white edges!)  Then I trimmed it down just a little and adhered it to the card base after it dried.  I added the mistletoe bundle and stamped the sentiment with my Misti.

I usually stick to really clean and simple designs, and this was busy and out of my comfort zone, but I kind of like it.  It’s always good to try to step outside your comfort zone, you never know, you may discover something new that you really like!

Spiral Notes (Forest Scene, Candy Stripe & You’re So Lovely)

forest candy strip youre so lovely notes wm

Hi there, it’s Angie here with a fun quick project that makes a great gift or a fun item to use yourself!  It’s a small spiral notebook from the discount store covered with fun paper, stamping, ribbon and gems!

For the book on the right, I used Hero Arts “You’re So Lovely” CL949 stamp set with a few inks on some patterned paper, then adhered it to the front cover and back cover of a small spiral notebook.  I added a couple of Hero Arts gems and some thin ribbon around the edges to finish it off.

For the book on the left, I used some brand new products and an older set.  The new products were Hero Arts Forest Scene Stencil SA078 and Hero Arts Candy Stripe Bold Prints Background Stamp CG681.  I used the stencil with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green for the top section and the background stamp for the bottom section.  I added ribbon and the sentiment was stamped on white card stock is from an older stamp and die set called Hero Arts Handmade Tags DC139.

I use one of these notebooks all the time, carry it in my purse, and always have something to jot notes in.  (And they make great gifts too!)

Hope you will take the time to enter our challenge this month here: Color it in!  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product to be eligible to win the $25 gift certificate to the store!  Woohoo!

and don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.  The new release products are in the store now so have fun shopping!

Sending Joy

Good morning everyone – Jennifer here from Caffeinated Papercuts with a glittery card for this dreary day before free candy day!

I love stretching my stamps and dies, so I came up with a card that could easily be either a non-traditional colors holiday card or a pretty pick-me-up, just because card. Don’t you love versatility?

2015-10-30 08.49.52

Taffy with grays with teal glitter paper, oh my! A little tone-on-tone stamping makes for a background with a punch.

2015-10-30 08.50.06

The ‘Joy’ was simply diecut from some teal glitter paper, and the ‘sending’ stamped in a darker gray. Round a couple of corners and off to the mailbox you go!

I Like You a Latte

Hey everyone – it’s Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts, and I still have coffee on the brain! The Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop starts next week and rumor has it a2z Scrapbooking is one of the new Super Sponsors…but you didn’t hear it from me…so today I have a coffee shaker card to help you get ready for the hop and join in the September Shaker Card Challenge!

2015-09-15 08.10.10

I just loooove that coffee stamp set! And yes, I totally used my brown ombre ink on the mug again, as it is just awesome. I also made my own background papers again; the Punch note card is stamped with Cup O’Joe and the older Basic Grey Amore background stamp.

2015-09-15 08.10.28

The Wet Cement note card that forms the base card I stamped with Wet Cement ink and the gorgeous new Branches Bold Prints background stamp. To give my card front lift I used some Fun Foam that I also die cut with the heart to make my shaker container. Overall pretty quick & easy!

2015-09-15 08.10.41

I used some chunky glitter and deep brown seed beads for my shaker filling – looks like sprinkles on top of a latte!

Now’s the time to stock up on your supplies for our Shaker Challenge and the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop. Be sure to request any out-of-stock items in the store and take 15% off your order of $25 or more with coupon code JENNIFER15.

Triangles on Kraft

Hi Everyone,

this is Cornelia here today using one of those cool Hero Arts background stamps – the Triangle Background (CG662). You can make really quick cards with those. I also love geometric patterns – so this is just up my alley!

A2z 8-2015 c

As you can see, I heat embossed it in white and then took my Inktense pencils and colored random triangle in rainbow colors. Cut the Kraft card stock slightly smaller than my card base and added the heat embossed sentiment  – its from am older Hero Arts set – also a geometric one….called So Kind (CL672). Could not resist and added some bling from my stash.  As you see – quick and easy. I like it! Perhaps you do , too 🙂

Holiday Card with Non-Holiday Stamps

Happy last day of November everyone! Jen here from Caffeinated Papercuts with a recap of everything going on this weekend here at a2z Scrapbooking. Today is the LAST DAY to enter our November Challenge, Anything Goes! There’s also our fabulous Scavenger Hunt to enter AND our Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale through tomorrow night. Wowza!

To prove that really, anything goes when it comes to stamping, I decided to make a holiday card without using a holiday stamp. Yup, no trees or snowflakes here, just some beautiful tone-on-tone stamping with one of my favorite background stamps.

Merry Christmas card-jml

Sadly, it looks like we’re sold out of the exact one I used in the shop, but any of the background stamps would work!

I inked up my stamp with Pale Tomato ink and stamped it on some red cardstock. From there I simply added my greeting heat embossed with the white Hero Arts embossing powder and some red & white twine.

Merry Christmas closeup-jml

The finishing touch was to round off the corners and I was done! A lovely CAS card for the holidays created with an everyday stamp. I love finding new uses for my stamps, don’t you?

Merry Christmas front-jml

I’ve listed my supplies below. If you feel like going shopping, be sure to use code JENNIFER15 at checkout to save 15% off your purchase of $25 or more! And don’t forget to enter that challenge – you could win a $25 gift card to the store. Think of the holiday goodies you could get for yourself!

Supplies:

Hero Arts Blush Folded Cards
Hero Arts White Embossing Powder
Hero Arts Pale Tomato Shadow Mid-tone Ink
Hero Arts Big Merry Christmas Stamp (the exact one I used is retired, but this would easily work!)
