Hero Arts Black Butterfly

It’s my day to share with you again… some more stenciled inspiration.    Our challenge this month is to use a stencil on your project.

The other day I saw a video by Ingrid Blackburn where she used embossing paste with a stencil, shook on some Colourbursts/Brusho’s and spritzed with water.  I have something called Pixie Powder which is similar to these with lots of mica powder in them.   I thought I’d give it a go.

It has produced such a pretty pale pastel background as I went lightly with the powders.  Did get a bit of seepage but it adds to the whole look.    I have used Hero Arts Swirl Stencil (currently out of stock but you can do a special order – check out the store HERE)

Once my panel had dried, I die cut it with a rectangle die from DieNamics (MFT) and layered onto black then onto a white base.  I die cut the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy Die from black card.  The sentiment is from THIS Hero Arts stamp and die set.  (currently on sale in the A2Z store!)

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts is one of my favorites and today I am happy to share this card with you. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with a colorful textured card created with one of the most beautiful stencils from Hero Arts, the Bold Floral. Take a look at my card:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Working with stencils is very fun and you can explore different techniques with them. On this opportunity I used Creative Medium Iridescent to create this effect that is more evident over dark card stocks.  The base of my card is Whisper White and the second layer, the one I worked over with the stencil, is Always Artichoke.

I secured the stencil with masking tape and I start by applying the creative medium with a palette knife over the free areas of the stencil using three different colors. I used Purple, Green and Pink of creative medium. I removed the stencil and washed with warm water and let the card stock dry naturally.

Using the die cut included on the set Happy Stamp & Cut from Hero Arts and whisper white card stock, I cut several times the word happy and pasted these to create a bold word. Then I assembled my card leaving a tiny border on the left and top parts and and pasting the word on the center of the card to create a big contrast.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

The process was very easy and the effect is amazing! You can explore this technique using embossing paste and to give color to it simply by adding a few drops of ink. Also if you don’t have Creative Medium Iridescent, you can use Pearlescent Embossing Paste and mix it with the inks.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

Hero Arts Orchid Branches Red

Hello everyone,

It’s Cindy.  I use this month’s challenge theme: Any Shade of Red as my inspiration of today’s card.  It’s a fairly simple card, except I use partial die cutting to add dimension.  You could consider it a one layer card with an attitude!  😀

a2z_hero_arts_orchid_branches

My process:

  • On white card stock, ink and stamp the orchid branch from Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid in a Pot set in a pleasing composition in various shades of Red.
  • Stamp sentiment in black.
  • Distress with Spun Sugar all around.
  • Use matching frame cut and partial die cut at various length of the branches.
  • Layer and adhere red color paper on card base.
  • Add foam adhesive behind partial die cut branches with various thickness, the most thick at the tip of the branch, less closer to the base.
  • Adhere orchid panel to card.  Remove backing of foam tape from branches and adhere to card.  Slightly curl the flower petal to create more dimension.

Here’s a closer look.

The Orchid in a Pot stamp set is still available at the a2z store.  Also new items from the 2017 Catalog are available.  Go shopping and use code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.

And come join in this month’s challenge:  Any Shade of Reds.  Use some shade of red and Hero Arts products such as stamp, stencil, digital stamps, die cut as main focal point.   And you could win a $25 gift card to the store.

Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print duet

Hi,

Cindy here to share a couple cards featuring the Hero Art Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print stamp.  This stamp is great for any celebration theme card.

First up is a card that could be both an invitation or birthday, depends on how you write up the inside.

a2z_hero_arts_sweet_sprinkles_party

My process:

  • On white card base, use inking tool and sponge edges and center of card with Barn Door.
  • Ink Hero Arts Sweet Sprinkles Bold Print cling stamp using various ColorBox Pigment Ink randomly, stamp on white card stock slightly smaller than card base in length, and clear heat emboss.
  • Position ‘party’ (from the 2016 Dec My Monthy Hero Kit) die cut in center of stamped panel, die cut.  *Remember to keep the small piece of the letter ‘a’.
  • Stamp with black and clear heat emboss “let’s” on ‘sprinkle’ panel.
  • Use foam adhesive and mount ‘sprinkle’ panel onto card base, along with the small piece of the letter ‘a’.
  • On white card stock stamp, color, and die cut cake, candle, and mask.  Clear heat emboss all three pieces.
  • Adhere to card front as shown.

I really like how it turned out.  You may notice some parts of the image is not well coated with ink, but that’s okay because it adds a little visual dimension.  After all when you throw a bunch of sprinkles up in the air, you don’t see each pieces clearly right?!  🙂

My second card is a CASE of Jennifer McGuire’s Easy Ombre Backgrounds card except I added silver glitter tape on both edge of card base.  To conform to this month’s challenge: Any Shades of Reds, both my cards has Barn Door as a predominate color.

Happy Stamp & Cut with Digital Hero Arts

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a hybrid combination that I made for my valentine, my dear husband! This is a hybrid card because I used a the Happy Stamp & Cut set and the Digital File Brush and Splatter on it, both from Hero Arts. Take a look at my card:

Happy Stamp & Cut with Digital Hero Arts

Red is definitely the color of love and following the challenge theme I used it for the base of my card and the die cut of word happy that comes include on the Happy Stamp & Cut set.

  1. Cut the base of the card. The size is 4-1/4″x11′ with score in 5-1/2″
  2. Open the digital file Brush and Splatters and select the image that you want to use. I used the Paint Brush Heart that is perfect for Valentine’s day and I resized it in 3 different sizes. I organized all the images on the right side of my card stock and printed this on my regular printer over whisper white card stock.
  3. Cut the second layer using  the printed Whisper White card stock. If you want you can use a decorated frame to create this layer.
  4. Give a few colors inside of the hearts. For this you can use ink, colors or perfect pearls, I used perfect pearls in Gold color.
  5. Cut the word happy included on the set using Cherry Cobbler card stock and white fun foam.
  6. Paste the word over the big heart and stamp the complement word using Hero Arts Intensive Black Ink.
  7. Paste the decorated layer over the card base using dimensionals.

Happy Stamp & Cut with Digital Hero Arts

Wedding Bloom with Hero Arts

Happy Sunday friends!  Everyone recovered from the holiday season?  As for our household, the weekend continues to be filled with events to attend.  One of them was a beautiful wedding with a gorgeous color scheme…navy and coral!

Here’s my wedding bloom card using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Mum Flower die.

Hero Arts Wedding Mum

I used a coral colored cardstock for my card base and some navy blue card stock to die cut the mums.  I wanted a little more bling, since the bride loves sparkle, and used some stickles in pinks and oranges to enhance that coral color.

Hero Arts Wedding Mum 3

The sentiment is Hero Arts Congrats Stamp and Cut, die cut from blue glitter paper and again in that coral cardstock.  I just layered them over each other for a shadow effect and used some clear Kool Tak Foam for some dimension.  The petals were curled first then the Stickles added.

Hero Arts Wedding Mum

I hope you’ll join us this month for our Anything Goes Challenge for your chance to win $25 to the a2z Scrapbooking store.

Mahalo for stopping by!!

CELEBRATE TAG WITH HERO ARTS

CELEBRATE TAG WITH HERO ARTS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Celebrate tag with Hero Arts that I made to decorate a pre-made box that I found in a craft store. I usually buy these boxes to decorate them and package little presents.

CELEBRATE TAG WITH HERO ARTS

During these days  all of us are in crunch time with the holidays and gifts etc. If you are like me, these boxes are our salvation because we only need to use a few elements to create beautiful packages.

For this box I used a Celebrate Tag Stamp & Cut by Lia from Hero Arts. I cut the tag using metallic silver card stock and then I stamped the Celebrate sentiment with Versamark and Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder.

This beautiful tag doesn’t require a lot of decorations, so I just added a touch of color with a tiny bow that I made with green baker’s twine and pasted over a belt that I made to put around of the box.

You can find many sets like this –Stamp & Cut – in the a2z scrapbooking store where you can enjoy 15% off with my discount code MARTHA15. If there’s every something you want that you don’t see in store, use the custom order button.

I hope you too will join us in the challenge this month. You have until month end to submit your project for a chance at a $25 Gift Card.

Hero Arts Floral Heart Cookie List

Hello everyone,

Are you ready for Christmas/holiday season?   In many years past no matter how ready I think I am there’s always some last minute things that pop up or require my attention.  LOL.   So lately I’ve learn to take things easy and try not too hard to control everything.  However I do bake Christmas cookies every year (since many years), and when I give them away I’d like to include a little list or a tag to indicate what they are.  This year I’ve decided to use a non-holiday theme die cut to make that tag/list.

a2z_hero_arts_floral_heart_cookie_list

My process:

  • Die cut floral hearts with red card stock using the cutting die from the Hero Arts Floral Heart Stamp and Cut set.
  • Use one of the die cut piece as guide/pattern, trace and fussy the backing using white card stock.
  • Stamp dotted line on white die cut pieces.
  • Cut half inch wide fishtail banners using white card stock.
  • Use gold gel pen and write sentiment on banners.
  • Stamp holly leaves from the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tag in Crush Olive and die cut.
  • Write cookie names on white backing pieces.
  • Score backing diagonally on left top corner.
  • Apply a tiny bit of glue on top of score line of white backing, place floral heart on top and glue together.
  • Glue fishtail banner on top of floral heart, add holly leave embellished with red art gem.
  • Use pierce tool and poke a hole on top left, thread gold color ribbon thru and tie.

Voila, it doesn’t take too long to make these and you could mass produced.  Also they could be used as place cards since they stand at an interesting angle!  🙂  Just write the person’s name on the banner, and leave the inside blank (or write a personal message).  You can still get the Floral Heart Stamp and Cut at the store.   Use code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchases $25 and more (shipping excluded) at check out.

There is still time to join in our December Challenge – Anything But a Card.  Click the “Current Monthly Challenge” button at the top bar to get details.
