Thinking of you Poppy with Hero Arts

Welcome.  Dawn here to share my shaped card for this month’s challenge.  I have used my favourite Poppy stamp and die for this card.

My card base is made with by die cutting two Spellbinders dies and glued them together at the top.   I trimmed a smidgen off the bottom curve on the back to allow the card to stand up.    I used some Patterned paper for my inner panel.   On a separate piece of card stock I stamped the poppy in Hero Arts inks – Soft Cantaloupe and Punch Chalk (discontinued) and Distress Ink – Aged Mahogany.  The stem is in Emerald  Green.   I used the matching dies to cut out the Poppy.

I did have a little mishap when stamping the sentiment…. as I went to pull the sentiment off the backing sheet (it was the first time I used this sentiment) and I tore it!

With much butting and wiggling, to say the least, I managed to get the sentiment stamped.

Embellished Hero Arts Paper Layering Daisy Card – Hello Stamp and Cut

hello nov 15th embellished card a2z.jpg

I had so much fun making this embellished card!  I used the Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy die set to cut the flower out of plaid patterned paper, then used the outside die that comes with the set to give the dark brown background under the petals.  I used patterned paper from my stash in oranges and browns and yellow to create the layers on this card.  The sentiment is a die from the Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Die set DC151 cut from brown card stock and then sparkled up with some Wink of Stella.  I used circle and rectangle dies from my stash to cut the layers.  I added the layers to a Hero Arts White Card base PS566 and added tons of gems.  Some were Hero Arts and other were from my stash.  You can find great gems in many colors in the store click HERE!

I hope you will have time to join us this month for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product and link up your card HERE.  Good Luck!

Hero Arts Wreath card and tags

Dawn here to share a Christmas card and some tags I have made with Hero Arts Wreath stamp and die set (SB120 – they can also be purchased separately CL970 stamps and DI152 die cuts)

Hero Arts Wreath

I die cut a panel using a Kaisercraft die.  I stamped the layering wreath using a variety of inks – Hero Arts and Altenew and then added some red embossed dots and a few gold embossed stars.   I gold embossed the bow and die cut it.  The sentiment was stamped with red ink and clear embossed.   I’m very thankful for the help from MISTI.  It really makes layering stamps easy.   I then used some stamps from Hero Arts DC 187 Peace Stamp & Cut set to stamp the little bird (fussy cut) and the remainder of the sentiment.

And of course as our challenge this month is “Tags”  I couldn’t resist to use the Wreath set to make a couple of tags

Wreath Tags

One was stamped directly as a one layer tag and the second on used a die cut wreath, bow and berries.  Die cut using a CAS-ual Fridays die.  (Hero Arts have some lovely tag dies as well HERE)

Watercoloured background

Dawn here to share some more watercolour backgrounds.  Our theme this month is Watercolouring.  I enjoy making watercolour backgrounds.  One of my favourite ways is to use a Smooshing technique.  I mainly use Distress inks to make these as they turn to water colours when sprayed with water.

Happy Day

For this one, I used some blue and green inks and smooshed them onto my craft sheet and dragged my watercolour paper through it.  Once it dried I used a few colours of Lindy’s Stamp sprays to add some pinks and the dot of yellow.  I then put it through an embossing folder for added texture.  Next I die cut the Butterfly Die (DI078) from some hot pink card stock.  I used some Black Metallic Decor dots for the body.  My sentiment is white embossed and is from Color Layering Happy Day Flowers (CL864) -Note:  This popular Stamp set is currently Out of Stock at a2z Scrapbooking, however you can CUSTOM Order it in the Store. Just click on the REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER form on the store HOME Page!   This goes for pretty much ANY Hero Arts products that is still available.  If you can’t find it in the store, please feel free to ask!

As an aside, have you heard Hero Arts Intense Black AF345 is perfect for alcohol markers (Copic, Spectrum Noir) ? There is also a reinker.  It’s in store now.

A big thank you to Arlene who sent me this beauty.  It’s the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy Dies DI078     I liked it so much I ordered it… so should you.  Just follow the link above to A2Z Scrapbooking.   I added a sentiment from Hero Arts Layering Happy Days Flowers CL864     Of course, I added some different coloured gems to draw in the colours from the background.  That was made by using paints, Zig markers and Lindy’s Gang sprays.

Rainbow Watercoloured Embossing

Hi crafters

Dawn here to show you a card using a stencil, Texture Paste, watercolour Zig Brush markers and a die cut.

Rainbow embossed background

I used the Leaf and Flourish stencil with Ranger Texture Paste .  Once it dried I coloured with the Zig Markers and totally spritzed with water to mix.  I left it overnight before trimming it and backing with the black card.  I die cut a tag from black and white embossed the sentiment and heart from the Hello Stamp and Die. I used a Copic marker to colour the heart.  I coloured a scrap of watercolour paper and die cut the Hello.

My card was inspired by the Craftsy class I took.  It is a class by Catherine Pooler and I can highly recommend it.  21 different techniques.  One lesson is on Stenciling with Creative Mediums.
