Hi, friends, it’s Chark here with the last Digi Duel of the year featuring me and Arlene this month. I’ve had a blast doing these duels, where two DT member use the same Hero Arts digital stamps (exclusively sold through a2z) and come up with two projects. It’s always interesting to me as a crafter to see how different people use the same stamps.
This Holiday Tags digi stamp set is perfect for the holidays and if you’re at all like me, you might think you have plenty of tags and then realize you used them up last year. Digital stamps to the rescue! You just print and cut and you’re all set–no need to color them either!
Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to show off the Merry Background digital stamp set from Hero Arts. Arlene and I both took the digi stamp and came up with two different cards, though we did stick with red, green and black and white, without knowing what the other one was making. I used the digi in gray, she used it in black. It also comes in five other color combos.
Arlene used some beautiful red metallic paper that really pops against the black background. I think it’s classy and perfect for a Christmas card.
If you’re thinking this might be perfect for your cards, you can head to the store and pick up the digi stamp or enter the monthly challenge and try to win it–check out the link in the header for all the details.
Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to share my October Digi Duel with Arlene. We got to play with the Hero Arts Spooky Labels digital stamps and it was fun! I love Halloween paper products…okay, I’m addicted to them…even though I never make enough projects to use all my paper and embellies and stamps. Luckily, these digi stamps don’t take up room in my craft stash!
Arlene made a festive Halloween card here with the stamp that says October 31. It even comes with its own spider web. Arlene went for fun and colorful and she nailed it…I know some nieces and nephews who would love this one!
I went more for spooky and vintage, using the Trick-or-Treat sentiment. I used black, silver and white to make this spooky. The paper is silver shimmer paper and the bat has some silver foil to make it shine. You can see more shininess in the close-up.
If you want your own Spooky Labels digi set to play with, enter our monthly challenge and maybe you’ll win a free set! Or you can just hop to the store and buy it right now if you’re like me and can’t wait to make your own Halloween projects.
Hi, friends, Chark here today with Arlene to duke it out…or duel it out…with each other. We’re both using the Hero Arts digi stamp set called Seventh Heaven. Basically, we each took the digis and made our own projects to pit them against each other. Ka-pow! Just kidding, no DT members were hurt in this duel.
Here are Arlene’s two projects…check her blog for more details. I love how this sun really pops on her backgrounds–they look like swirling clouds, don’t you think?

And here’s my square card. I looovved the sun in this set and it’s already colored, so using it makes for a fast card. I added a sentiment from the set in the middle of the sun, printed it and adhered it to a square card. I added a ribbon from my stash and I was finished!
Hi, friends, it’s time for two Design Team members to duel it out with the same digi kit. This month, though, you can win two star-themed digi stamps and so we had the choice of two different kits. So this month, Arlene chose the Constellation set and I went for The Firmament set. They’re very similar and work well together too!
I used a few of the stamps from the set to make this card front and then used a glue pen that stays sticky to add silver foil (not heat-set foil) the purple stripes are foil on thin tape. I added a few doodles with the glue pen to add more purple foil.
Hope you’ll play along with our challenge this month and try to win both of these digi sets and maybe even $20 to the store! Check the challenge link at the top of the page for all the details.
Hi, friends, Chark here today to share the latest digi duel with Arlene and myself. We got to play with the Silly Scape digital stamp that is all kinds of fun. Without further ado, en garde!
Here’s Arlene’s card. She printed the image small and used the cloud background. She also die cut the word Friend from the die paper included in this digi set. What a sweet card you could send to a faraway friend!

For my card, I used the image larger and colored it with Tombow markers, which are vibrant. I added little hand-drawn clouds and left off the sentiment. I figured I could add a thank you or hello if I need to later. You can see Arlene colored her tiny windows yellow, while I just used the same marker as the building.

Hi, friends, it’s time for our monthly digi duel when two team members use the same digital stamp set and see what they can come up with. Our digi set this month is Hero Arts Summer Travel Words and our duelists are Cindy and Arlene. Let’s see how they do!
Here’s Arlene’s take using the Summer Travel Words. I love how she repeated the stamps to get a fun, graphic look to this card. This would be a great postcard to send back home too if you’re lucky enough to get to play in the sunshine.
And here is Cindy’s take with the same stamp set. Instead of a card, Cindy has put together a scrapbook page that’s all ready for the photo! Love this idea, since there are a million vacation photos on my phone right now…wish I had worked ahead a bit!
So, what would you do with this set? Think about it and then enter our challenge this month to try to win it and a $20 gift card to the store! (See this post for details on how to enter.)
Thanks for stopping by to see the duel!

Today is our monthly Digital Duel with two of our Design Team members, where we feature the digi prize for our May Challenge…it’s always interesting to see what two different designers do with the same stamp set. Today Arlene and I (Chark) are going head to head. Who will come out unscathed? We’ll have to see! En garde, mon amie!
Here’s a look at the Notes and Dates digi stamp set.
Here’s Arlene’s card with the stamp set. She enlarged the calendar to fit the card front and then highlighted some of the sentiments. You can go to Arlene’s blog to see more details.

And here’s my take. I printed mine on aqua paper that I cut to 8.5 x 11 before printing. I used two digis layered and then added the sentiment from a different digi set (Hero Arts Chalkboard Frames and Messages). You can head to Glitter In My Kitchen to see the details.
Hope you’ll join in our May Challenge, Shape Shift, and create a shaped project of any kind to try to win these stamps and maybe even $20 to the store!

Hi, friends, today’s digi duel is brought to you by Arlene and me, Chark. On the 11th of each month, two design team members use that month’s digital prize to create cards and duel to see who uses the digi better…we fight to the death!
Well, maybe I overstate it a bit…but it IS fun to see two designers use the same kit and see what they come up with. (No design team members were injured in the making of this post.)
Here’s Arlene’s take on the One-of-a-Kind digi kit (the prize for March’s Anything Goes Challenge). These cutie birds are missing you! Clean and simple, this design cleverly uses colored paper and digi stamps to make a fast no-color card that you can pop in the mail to a long-distance buddy in no time!
My (Chark’s) card uses a sentiment and two different flower stamps included in the digi set. I tried to make the different flower stand out by making it black in a sea of pink. I added Silver Chrome marker and white highlights to the flower and added glitter gumdrops that match the pink. The dotted paper was a little scrap I had. I’m trying to organize and use those scraps!

Hi, friends, today we have two fab team members dueling it out with the Hero Arts Words of Love digi stamps. Each month on the 11th, two team members will take the same digital stamp set (which is the monthly prize for our challenge) and see who can turn the stamps into the best project. While there are no swords and no real winners, it’s always a blast to see how two different designers take the same stamp and make it their own. We get inspiration from both projects, so I guess we’re the winners!
This month the digi is Words of Love and if you enter our challenge, you could be the randomly drawn winner of this February prize. If want this one sooner, you can hop over to the store and pick it up for just $6.49! You can use any manufacturer’s products to enter for this versatile digi, but if you use Hero Arts products and you’re randomly chosen, you’ll win BOTH the digi set AND a $20 gift code to the store.
And now, En Garde! Here’s Arlene’s take with this perfect-for-February stamp set.
•Prismacolor Coloring pencils, Black Gel Pen, Black Marker
•Penny Blacking cutting die – Cut Out Border
That was fun! Thanks to Arlene and Cindy for entertaining us and thank you for joining us for the February Digital Duel, it’s cool to see the projects side by side and it’s hardly dangerous at all!
