Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Giveaway

Hi friends – welcome back! I had so much fun making this carD and it came together very quickly – even better! First the ‘official schtuff’!

If you don’t see some of the products I used in the Etsy shop; don’t hesitate to create a special order, they do those ALL. THE. TIME! ūüėÄ I think a couple items may be sold out but there are lots of other alternatives too.

Also, don’t forget to use coupon code MicheleG15 to receive 15% off your order of $25 or more! ūüėÄ Happy shopping!

And last, don’t forget to join our TAG challenge this month – we love seeing you creations!

OK, now down to b’ness! I took a piece of ranger water color paper and sponged heavily with spun sugar, the added the Bold Floral Stencil and sponged on abandoned coral distress ink. Before removing the stencil, I sprayed with shimmer mist; I knew the colors¬†would run somewhat but that’s okay. (If you follow me on snapchat. I peeked a couple quick videos of the sponging and shimmer mist – username: whimsycreation).

I sat the main panel¬†aside to dry and worked on the ‘thanks’ and vellum piece. The ‘thanks’ was cut ¬†4 times from black card stock¬†and glued together; once dry I sponged with VersaMark and added clear sparkle embossing powder…three different times. I embossed a sentiment on vellum and although the sentiment is normally in a straight line, I decided to curve it to match the ‘thanks’ a bit more. Some striped paper, thread and enamel dots finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; don’t forget to join this month’s challenge – TAGS! Thanks for stopping by!

Just Breathe Plaid and Denim

Hi, Angie here with another card to hopefully inspire you to join the “watercolor”¬†challenge over at a2zscrapbooking blog! ¬†April is almost over but you still have a little time left to join in the fun!

Click here to see the details and add your creation!

I used watercolor paper to ink with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. ¬†I put it on direct to paper and even added more with a dauber to get it really dark. ¬†Then I heat embossed in HA clear powder, leaves stamps from HA You’re So Lovely set. ¬†After heat embossing them, I added water with a paint brush and then wiped off the excess. ¬†(This is the Distress Ink Lifting method with water that Jennifer McGuire recently showed on her blog.) ¬†It lightened up the background and left the leaves really dark. ¬†I think it made the background look like blue jeans or denim!

I cut the HA Swallowtail Fancy Butterfly from plaid patterned paper and inked it with the same Distress Ink, then added Wink of Stella on the top. ¬†I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink and used HA white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment “Just Breathe” from the HA Hello Gorgeous set. ¬†The background is more plaid paper that I inked the edges of to match. ¬†I die cut the watercolor panel with a scalloped die before adhering it to the plaid paper, then the white card base. ¬†Lastly I added some fun black pearl gems from Hero Arts!

My list of supplies is below:

If you need craft items that you don’t see in the store, don’t forget you can special order them here at the¬†A2ZScrapbooking Store.

You can use the code Angie15 to receive a discount of 15% off your total order of $25 or more excluding shipping.

Here are a few more views.  It looks different from each angle!

The Butterfly Effect

NOTICE: It looks like we’re having a bit of trouble with our InLinkz Link-up on our blog. ¬†It seems to have a mind of its own and disappeared from the side-bar. ¬†However, it found a home on the first day of March here. ¬†The DT are trying to put it back where it came from, but until you see it in the usual place on the top right side, you’ll be able to enter here.

March is flitting by with butterflies. ¬†I love my new butterflies and matching die-cuts. ¬†I did’t know I was butterfly enabled, but I guess I love those butterflies as I seem to keep buying them. ¬†I had this urge to use this background, don’t know why but just thinking night sky here.

You don’t have to emboss everything, just some specific items like the butterfly dots on the wings and the sentiment. ¬†Close-up of the embossing which is not evident from the card photo.

Birds on a Branch

Hi all.  Dawn here with my first post as a designer for A2Z Scrapbooking.  I am super excited to be here and hope over the course of my time here, I inspire you.  Hero Arts products were amongst the first I used when I started stamping years ago.

This month our challenge is nice and easy.. “Anything Goes”¬†¬† I am still waiting for my new Hero Arts goodies to arrive so I’m inspiring you with some older Hero Arts stamps mixed with some newer items too.

Birds on a branch

I started by trying a monoprint technique with my stencil (Leaf and Flourish)  I added Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves directly to the stencil, spritz with water and then press onto the watercolour paper.  Blotted with a cloth to take off the excess watery bits.  Once it dried, I stamped it with the Post Card background and the sentiment from an older Hero Arts set.  Next was to cut a branch with Spring Branch die.  I then stamped the birds.  I coloured these with Distress Markers (Barn Door, Wild Honey and Seedless Preserves) and fussy cut them

Added a few sequins and popped it up onto the pink card base that was embossed with Swiss Dot folder.

I encourage you to pull out your old Hero Arts stamps and give them some love, while you are waiting for your new goodies to arrive!
