BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts is one of my favorites and today I am happy to share this card with you. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with a colorful textured card created with one of the most beautiful stencils from Hero Arts, the Bold Floral. Take a look at my card:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Working with stencils is very fun and you can explore different techniques with them. On this opportunity I used Creative Medium Iridescent to create this effect that is more evident over dark card stocks.  The base of my card is Whisper White and the second layer, the one I worked over with the stencil, is Always Artichoke.

I secured the stencil with masking tape and I start by applying the creative medium with a palette knife over the free areas of the stencil using three different colors. I used Purple, Green and Pink of creative medium. I removed the stencil and washed with warm water and let the card stock dry naturally.

Using the die cut included on the set Happy Stamp & Cut from Hero Arts and whisper white card stock, I cut several times the word happy and pasted these to create a bold word. Then I assembled my card leaving a tiny border on the left and top parts and and pasting the word on the center of the card to create a big contrast.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

The process was very easy and the effect is amazing! You can explore this technique using embossing paste and to give color to it simply by adding a few drops of ink. Also if you don’t have Creative Medium Iridescent, you can use Pearlescent Embossing Paste and mix it with the inks.

Large Hydrangea Stamp Two Ways

Hi, friends, Chark here today. I am so in love with this Hero Arts Large Hydrangea Stamp…it’s fun to stamp and color and it’s a great size for filling a card. After I stamped it about a dozen times in different ways, on different papers and with different media, I put two cards together.

Both are stamped in Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. One is on vellum and one is on red cardstock.

Here’s the red version. I used Prismacolor pencils to darken the centers with a plum color and then colored the tips of the flowers with an orange-red. I left the red cardstock in the center so it has three colors. Then I used a couple of greens on the leaves.

I added a strip of vellum with the sentiment (new Birthday Messages set) and rhinestones.

For this second card, I used the white ink and embossing powder on the vellum paper. Then I used Copics to color the blooms and stems. Don’t forget that Copics will color the white embossing and if you want the white lines to show, be careful! I have a few bits that are colored in the leaves, but enough of the veins are white. I finished with a torn red cardstock strip and red glitter enamel dots.

Which is your favorite? I think the flowers look cooler on the vellum, but I do think the red card is striking with the white embossing. Here’s the inside of the card—I’m trying to remember to pretty up the insides too—using Strawberry Ink.

If you want your own Hydrangea stamp from the new catalog, head to the store and pick one up…if your cart has more than $25 in it, you can use my friend code CHARK15 to get 15% off your whole cart!

Hope you’ll enter our monthly card challenge with your Hero Arts products to try to win the $25 gift code to the store.

Hero Arts K6214 Artistic Dahlia Thank You Card

Hi – it’s Sue here with a new card for today. This card was created with the current challenge at a2z Scrapbooking in mind. The current challenge is

shades-of-red

Won’t you join us for this challenge? Just remember, you need to feature a Hero Arts product on your card.

Here’s my card

hero-arts-k6214-artistic-dahlia-card

I tried a “new to me” technique using alcohol inks on vellum. I started by adding red alcohol ink with a little blending solution randomly with an applicator onto vellum. The varying intensities of colour add some “cool” shading. I initally used the Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia stamp, white embossing powder on the reverse side of the vellum isn’t happy because the red colour seems quite muted. I was looking for a more vibrant red! So, I inked up another piece of vellum and heat embossed on top of the alcohol inked side of the vellum – much better. I fussy cut the flowers, removing the leaves. Here’s a close-up.

hero-arts-k6214-artistic-dahlia-close-up

I cut some leaves freehand from a grey/green scrap of cardstock. I felt that the card needed a bit more dimension, so I used an embossing folder with vertical stripes for the background. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Color Layering Fuchsia stamp set.

The a2z Scrapbooking etsy store is a great place for you to purchase Hero Arts supplies. When your cart reaches $25, use my code Sue15 for 15% off.

I, just like everyone else, have been inspired by some recent ombre shading using a stencil inspired by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire (just search YouTube, you’ll find their videos. :D). I used some MFT Steel Gray card stock as my base and sponged on the gray/black inks in THIS set over the Bold Floral stencil. I die cut the LOVE multiple times from Hero Arts red card stock and layered together; sponged on some Unicorn ink on the top portion of the top LOVE word and once dry, coated in glossy accents. I embossed the small sentiment on vellum, adhered it all together on a red card base and added a black enamel heart.

Hello everyone!

It’s Donna here, Happy New Year’s, I wish all of you good health, love and a crafty year!   There is a new challenge that I hope you will play along, the Challenge is “anything goes”.  You can link your project here.  Please be sure that your project contains at least ONE main HERO ARTS Product as the focal element!

anything-goesI am using the cute Hero Arts “Floral Heart Stamp & Cut.  I used some red glitter paper to cut the die out.  I then die cut the “Valentine” from the Hero Arts “Valentine Message and Three Hearts Fancy Dies”.  I used liquid glue to adhere the “Valentine” to the heart die.  I then added some glossy accent to make the “Valentine” stand out.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts “Floral Heart Stamp & Cut” set.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and added the Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heated it with a hot glue gun.  I finished my card off by adding some Hero Arts rhinestones and twine.

Hero Arts Wishing you Peace Love and Joy

Less than 5 weeks till Christmas…. how is your Christmas card making coming on….

Dawn here to show you the design I’ve made a few of this year.

Peace Dove

This Peace Stamp and Die set (DC187) is so versatile.  There are so many little sentiments that can go with the stamp or the matching Die.  For my card I have chosen to use the Die with the sentiments.  Thanks to MISTI I manage to do a pile of this design all at once.  Just did the stamping, and then added the die cut Peace and the trimmed red embossed panel.  The silver glitter card Dove die is one that came with a Christmas Themed magazine last year (and only got used this year!)  And because our theme this month is Embellish It… I added some little pearls along the curve of the embossed panel.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. (before tax and shipping)  And don’t forget that we are on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.  Follow us on these different social media outlets so you won’t miss out on any fun promotions!

Hero Arts Fight Like A Girl Card

Hi. It’s Sue. Yes, I know, Breast Cancer Awareness month was October. It’s now November! However, as more and more women are being diagnosed with breast cancer, it’s not just something that we remember one month a year. A co-worker’s mom was just diagnosed. I thought of her as I created this card.

Uses Hero Arts Happy Mother's Day and Dare to Dream stamp sets.

I started by gold embossing flowers on vellum from Hero Arts Happy Mother’s Day stamp set. I then fussy cut them and added color with Copic markers.

I found a patterned paper that complemented the flowers and cut a 2.25″ strip. I used gold embossing for the sentiment from Hero Arts Dare to Dream stamp set.

When I adhered the flowers – two are directly adhered to the card and one is popped up with dimensionals.

I added a few sequins to add a bit of sparkle.

We’d love for you to join us at this month’s challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking.

HERO ARTS COFFEE CUP FOR CHRISTMAS CARD

Hello crafty friends, are you ready for the season? Today I have a Hero Arts Coffee Cup Christmas Card to share with you and I wish to share the coffee too but it is not possible yet! Welcome to my day on our blog and let me show my card and tell you how I made it. Take a look:

HERO ARTS COFFEE CUP FOR CHRISTMAS CARD

Creating this card was very easy! I used two different stamp sets and the corresponding die cuts from Hero Arts, the Coffee Cut Tags and Die Cuts and the Happy Holly Days and Frame Cuts.

  1. Cut the base of the card using Whisper White card stock. The size is 5-1/2″x8-1/2″ with score in 4-1/4″
  2. Cut a second layer of decorated paper and place in diagonal angle over the card base. Cut the excess and paste directly over the base.
  3. On a separate piece of card stock stamp the leaves from the stamp set Happy Holly Days using VersaMark and Hero Arst Gold Embossing Powder.
  4. Melt the powder with the heat tool and cut the with the corresponding die cuts.
  5. Decorate the center of the fruits with Red Berry Crystal Drops.
  6. On a separate piece of card stock stamp one of the designs of the cups using Red Royal Shadow Ink for the cup and Forever Green Shadow Ink for the Cap and tag. Both inks are from Hero Arts.
  7. Cut all the stamped pieces using the corresponding die cuts.
  8. Paste the leaves on the left side of the cup using glue dots and the cup on the right side of the card using dimensionals.
  9. If you want you can add some dots of green crystal drops.

HERO ARTS COFFEE CUP FOR CHRISTMAS CARD

Do you remember the theme of November’s Challenge? It is embellishment! And as you noticed I embellished my card with gold embossing powder, crystal drops and different layers. It was easy and you can do the same. And the best part is that you can use my discount code in a2z Scrapbooking Store to buy these or any other Hero Arts product with the 15% off and now they are also offering free shipping until Christmas, you only need to use my discount code MARTHA15 and enjoy your shopping! Only one thing, if you don’t find what you are looking, don’t get upset, just request the product and they will help you!

I hope my project inspires you and come back soon for my ideas. Leave me your comments, I would love to know what you think!

See you soon and happy week!

Hero Arts Rings and Coffee Cup Tags

Hi friends – have you had time to play along with our EMBELLISH IT challenge? We love stopping by to leave you some love on your creations – join us!

Remember, you can shop our Etsy store any time and save 15% by using code: MicheleG15; and if I’ve used something you don’t see in the store, just ask, they happily do custom orders!

Now, let’s get to creating shall we? Funny how you start with an idea in your head and in the end, it takes a 180! 😉 I totally CASE’d (copy and share everything) THIS card from MFT Stamps but used the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags, Rings Bold Prints background stamp (as coffee rings in my eyes) and the Infinity Tags for a fun little gift card tag holder!

holiday-treat-up-close-blog

I originally thought I would make a full size A2 card but after all the water coloring, die cutting and stamping was done I sat there for a solid 10 minutes staring at everything and it just wasn’t working. HA! Voila – a gift card tag holder was born. Not original, but it worked for the size ratio I felt I needed for the coffee cup.

holiday-treat-full-tag-blog

I started off with some water color paper I received a few months ago in a Hero Arts Monthly kit; stamped the Rings Bold Prints background stamp in VersaMark and covered with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I then used various distress inks to lay down some watercolor; I kinda liked the red hue from the Tea Dye distress ink so gravitated towards those colors. The coffee cup, the sleeve and the lid were all cut from designer paper and sponged with various distress inks. The coffee cup was rather plain,  so I used the leaves and berries in the stamp set to clear emboss over the cup – love how this added just the right texture! I embelished the cup with a little wooden heart from my stash.

I cut another tag from Hero Arts Earth paper to place on the back, then cut the bottom portion of the tag again from designer paper cutting across the top with some decorative scissors and adhered this piece just around the edges so I could slip in a gift card. Finished it off with some twine colored with a burgundy copic so you can add it to a package or hang it on a tree!
