Hero Arts CL949 You’re So Lovely Card

Hi! It’s Sue with a new card for you. This card is totally out of my comfort zone. I typically prefer clean and simple cards, with lots of white space. This card – no “white space”.

I started by stamping all over a card panel with Versamark; added white embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool. I smooshed some ink on an acrylic sheet and picked up some ink with a water brush. I added colour somewhat deliberately to the flowers and a bit more randomly for the remainder of the card front.  I tried to keep the colours somewhat separate as I was a bit worried that some colours blended together might not result in a “pretty” colour. I matted the card with a nice blue and added some sequins for a bit of shine and sparkle.

Here’s a close-up

Grateful Paper Layering Hummingbird

gratefull paper layering hummingbird wm main.jpg

Hi there, it’s Angie here with a card featuring the new Hero Arts Paper Layering Hummingbird die.  I love hummingbirds so when I saw this new die set, I just had to get it and I’m so glad I did!

This card was quick to make, just stamped some flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts “Let Love Grow” set (in Distress Oxide inks) and cut a strip of black to mount the strip on.  I die cut the bird and used the same inks on him, added some black with a black marker, and added the Hero Arts “Grateful” rubber stamp sentiment on a scalloped oval die cut that was inked with the same inks.  I put it all on the card base and was done in no time!

Hope you will take the time to enter the 2 ways to win a $25 gift card to the a2z scrapbooking store!  Here’s the scoop:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts is one of my favorites and today I am happy to share this card with you. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with a colorful textured card created with one of the most beautiful stencils from Hero Arts, the Bold Floral. Take a look at my card:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Working with stencils is very fun and you can explore different techniques with them. On this opportunity I used Creative Medium Iridescent to create this effect that is more evident over dark card stocks.  The base of my card is Whisper White and the second layer, the one I worked over with the stencil, is Always Artichoke.

I secured the stencil with masking tape and I start by applying the creative medium with a palette knife over the free areas of the stencil using three different colors. I used Purple, Green and Pink of creative medium. I removed the stencil and washed with warm water and let the card stock dry naturally.

Using the die cut included on the set Happy Stamp & Cut from Hero Arts and whisper white card stock, I cut several times the word happy and pasted these to create a bold word. Then I assembled my card leaving a tiny border on the left and top parts and and pasting the word on the center of the card to create a big contrast.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

The process was very easy and the effect is amazing! You can explore this technique using embossing paste and to give color to it simply by adding a few drops of ink. Also if you don’t have Creative Medium Iridescent, you can use Pearlescent Embossing Paste and mix it with the inks.

POETIC PETALS DIGITAL FILE HERO ARTS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia with you! The spring is almost here but our challenge is not ending so I decided combine these two elements in one card for you today using Poetic Petals a Digital File from Hero Arts, maybe one of my favorites from the entire collection. Take a look at my card:

POETIC PETALS DIGITAL FILE HERO ARTS

To create this card I used Cherry Cobbler card stock for the base and a decorated piece of paper for the second layer. I simply decorated this layer with a few loops of natural hemp twine that I finished with a tiny bow on the left side.

I printed the Blossom C from the Poetic Petals Digital File over whisper white card stock, colored it with Copic Markers and then fussy cut with my scissors. I cut an oval with a die cut and pasted the Blossom C over the left side of the oval. Then I stamped word by word a sentiment from the stamp set Celebrate Tag Stamp & Cut by Lia from Hero Arts using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. Finally I pasted the decorated piece over the base using dimensionals and added some black heart sequins.

POETIC PETALS DIGITAL FILE HERO ARTS

You can find Poetic Petals Digital File  and more digital files like this in the a2z scrapbooking store where you can enjoy 15% off with my discount code MARTHA15. If there’s ever something you want that you don’t see in store, use the custom order button. It’s easy, quick and you won’t pay more!

Hero Arts You’re So Lovely card

Now that Christmas has past, I am in the mood for a sparkle and shine kind of card today.

hero-arts-youre-so-lovely-card

I started with gold heat embossing the blooms and the sentiment. The leaves were stamped with one of Hero Arts ombre ink pads. It’s so easy to achieve dimension and interest with the ombre inks. Sure one could achieve similar results by stamping the image multiple time with different colour inks. However, with the ombre inks, you get different shades of a colour, all at once. Finished the card by matting with gold cardstock.

We’d love for you to join the current challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking

Poetic Petals Blossom by Hero Arts

Hi crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Poetic Petals Blossom card that I made using a digital file with the same name from Hero Arts. The weather is changing and now that summer is almost over I am thinking on the transition to Fall and these flowers are perfect for this. Take a look at my card:

Poetic Petals Blossom by Hero Arts

I created this using only one of the flowers included on the set Poetic Petals Blossom Printable Digital Kit. This file include four different flowers that you can combine or using alone. I decided to use only one model and resize this and play with this around of the second layer of my card. I manipulate the file using my digital program My Memories Suite but you can use any program that you have because these file come in PNG and it is very easy to work. The sentiment is part of other digital  cutting file, the Sunshine Flowers and it coordinate perfect with my look.

Poetic Petals Blossom by Hero Arts

Like this month our challenge is color it,  I decided to use sponge daubers to give color to each flower. I applied the dark color on the center of the flower and the light only around on the center leaving the borders with the natural color of the paper, Very Vanilla. I used the Hero Arts Ombre Butter to Orange Ink to color the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to join the a2z Scrapbooking challenge this month. For more details on the challenge, you can find it here. Last time, HERE, you can see I colored the flowers in purple, this time I went with soft blues. I was super inspired by THIS card and basically CASE’d the card. All the images were stamped on Hero Arts white paper. The small ‘reddish’ type buds were stamped with Hero Arts ombre ink.The leaves were stamped 2nd generation with MFT Limelight and then colored with Copics and intense shadows. I added some scraps of polka dot vellum flowers, some sponging of Twisted Citron to ground the image. I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages in Hero Arts Intense Black ink.

Large Floral Background by Hero Arts

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a card that I made using the stamp set Large Floral Background. Flowers are my favorites and this background is a great combination of leaves and big flowers but I decided to use it partially. Take a look at my card:

Large Floral Background by Hero Arts

Creating this card was simple:

  1. Cut a layer of Whisper White card stock. The size is 4″x5-1/4″.
  2. Cover the upper and lower area of your card stock leaving a free zone where you will stamp your background.
  3. Ink the Large Floral Background Stamp with VersaMark and stamped it over the white layer.
  4. Remove the masking paper that you use to create the free zone.
  5. Cover the stamped area with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and melt with the heat tool.
  6. Apply the Hero Arts Ombre Neon Yellow to Orange ink over the embossed part using a sponge dauber or blending tool trying to cover only the emboss part.
  7. Stamp your sentiment using Hero Arts Memories Black Dye Ink. I used one of the images from the stamp set My every day life that is in SALE right now!
  8. Cut the base of the card using a More Mustard card stock. The size is 4-1/4″x11″ with score in 5-1/2″
  9. Paste the decorated layer over the card base using a snail adhesive.
  10. To finalize the decoration add some crystal drops in Dandelion Yellow and Glossy Black over the white space and let it dry.

Spring Hello by Lia with Hero Arts

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a pseudo monochromatic card that I made using the stamp set Spring Hello by Lia. I know it’s not spring anymore but I love the flowers and I wanted to experiment this technique with die cuts and masking. Take a look at my card:

Spring Hello by Lia with Hero Arts

Today I didn’t use White card stock, which is very strange for me! Today I used a light blue card stock for my decorated layer. Here is how I created this card:

  1. Cut the Bashful Blue layer. The size is 4″x5-1/4″
  2. Create a pattern using circle die cuts in a piece of card stock, you will use this piece to mask when you are stamping your images.
  3. Place the stencil created over the bashful blue layer and Ink inside of each circle using Hero Arts Cornflower Shadow Ink and a Blending Tool or sponge.
  4. Randomly stamp the images of the stamp set Spring Hello by Lia using Hero Arts Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink.
  5. Stamp your sentiment with Hero Arts Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink.
  6. Paste the decorated layer over a card base. If you want you can use a dark blue to keep the design monochromatic or you can change the color base just like I did. I used Rose Red card stock.
  7. Add some white sequins.

Spring Hello by Lia with Hero Arts

I hope my project inspired you to experiment with new creations and share this with us in our monthly Challenge. Remember that you will find amazing stamps and die cuts in a2z Scrapbooking Store and you can use my discount code MARTHA15 to buy your products and get the 15% off in everything when you spend $25 dollars or more without shipping and taxes.
