Paper Layering Daisy Hello

paper-layering-daisy-wm

Angie here today with a fun card with lots of red on it for our February Challenge!

I copied the technique Jennifer McGuire recently showed in a video.  I varied it a little by cutting the daisy out of the center, and popped the daisy and the sentiments  up on fun foam.  The little black notes are a tiny punch I have in my stash.

I used Hero Arts DI181 Paper Layering Daisy, Hero Arts Hello stamp and die set, Hero Arts CG691 Garden Bold Prints background stamp (out of stock but you can special order it), Hero Arts White Embossing powder, white and black card stock, Hero Arts Red Ink.

I hope you will have time to join in the fun for this month’s  challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store.

Don’t forget, you can use code Angie15 to get 15% off your purchase of $25 or more (excluding shipping) at the a2zscrapbooking store.

What’s the word, Bird?

Hello all, my card today is for the birds! 😉 I’m feeling a little springy lately with the change in weather here in central IL. Tuesday we hit 60, 3 inches of snow Wednesday and 60 again Saturday. The warmer weather inspired me with my card.

whats-the-word

First I stamped the bird and then lined the branch up with his foot. I wanted more a few more branches and then added the flowers and leaves. Added the sentiment at the bottom over lapped with some of the flowers. Once I had everything stamped I trimmed done the panel and adhered it to the cardbase with some pattern papers layered under it. Finished it with some sequins and Nuvo.

Below is a closer look at my color layered bird. I attempted to make him look like a Robin… using caramel and soft brown for the first layer, soft granite for the second and black for the last layer.

Anything Goes…a digital Valentine.

Can I still say Happy New Year?   It’s only the 6th and it’s my first post for 2017 – so Happy New Year!

anything-goes

It’s also time to start thinking of those Valentine’s card as well…. today I have one to share that is made with a digital flower and sentiment.

thumb nail Sendong Love

I used some Patterned Paper from a Grace Taylor pad to cover my card base.  I then printed the Pretty Blossoms Printable Digital Kit PT002 at 50% onto white card and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils and added some white gel pen dots.   I then printed the sentiment from Say it in Pieces DK030 set, before using an older Hero Arts die cut label to cut out a tag.   Added some metallic thread behind the flower.  How easy is that!  A2Z Scrapbooking has lots of Hero Arts Digital kits (see them all HERE)   Awesome for using on your projects.

Here’s a close up of the flower

One Layer, Watercolored Card

One Layer, Watercolored Card

Hello… It’s Helen! Today I am sharing my first project with you, a2z Scrapbooking crafty friends! I have a simple tutorial how to create one layer card with a stamp and watercolor paint.

I used the Hero Arts Antique Rose. It is one of my favorite stamps from Hero Arts 🙂

One Layer Watercolor Card 01

First, stamp the image on a watercolor paper with Archival Ink. Make sure your archival ink is permanent and water-resistant.

One Layer Watercolor Card 02

I love coloring with any medium. This time, I used Distress Mini Inks to color the flowers and the background. I dabbed some of the ink on a craft mat and picked them up with watercolor brush. For better results, let the first layer dry before you add the darker color for shadowing. I used a heat gun to speed the drying.

I used 2 shades of pink for the petals so I added colors over and over to create the depth and shadows. Make sure your brush is not too wet when you work with Distress Inks. That is why a paper towel is great to have nearby 🙂

One Layer Watercolor Card 03

Once I was done with my flowers, I added the lightest blue all over the background. I let the first layer dry completely then I added more blue around the flowers for the shadowing. A small round brush works best for this because you work close to the border line of the image and since it is Distress Ink which easily activated by water, you do not want the colors of the flowers blend with the background color.

One Layer Watercolor Card 04

Final step is to add the sentiment. I used the Hero Art – Prayer stamp and die set. I die cut the prayer and added it on the card then I stamped the other sentiment on top and at the bottom of it with archival ink.

Here the close up of the layer-watercoloring.

I hope you are inspired today and join our July Challenge – Anything Goes!

THANK YOU so much for visiting today. Have a fabulous day!

Clean and Simple Hero Arts Orchid

Hi  there crafters… Dawn here to share my CAS card.  Hope you think it’s Clean and Simple enough.  I have used some patterned paper but still think it is okay.

Hello Orchid

Hero Arts Orchid – Just a note to say Hello

I started by stamping the orchid from CL 946 Color Layering Orchid in a Pot,  I used a Spellbinders edge die to cut the white panel and layered it over the PP.  I pair my orchid with a sentiment and a die cut from DC151 Hello Stamp and Die set.  I used some red shiny card to cut the hello.

Hello Friend

Hello Friend Hero Arts
Hi Friends, Kristina Here – Hope everyone in the affected area’s from Blizzard 2016 is safe and warm!
In keeping with our current January Challenge: Bling/Glitter, I based this card around a nice large
block of glitter!! More on that in a minute. To start, I stamped and colored this sweet little flower image onto some
white cardstock before cutting out with a spellbinders die. Putting that off to the side I worked up my card base starting with a 4.25×5.5 panel of cardstock from the Sunshine Layering Paper. Next I added another panel a shade darker, cut to 4.25×3, which I glittered with some double sided adhesive sheet and translucent glitter cut slightly smaller than the panel, and adhered to my card base, before stamping my sentiment underneath. I planned to leave it at that, but felt it was lacking something so I used an embossing folder to selectively emboss the top and bottom of the panel, before adding my flower on and adhering to my main a2 card base.

There’s still plenty of time for you to enter your submission for our January Challenge, show us your bling, and don’t forget the Hero Arts for your chance to win a $25 gift card to the store <– Speaking Of… LOTS of stuff is on sale to make room for the new releases from CHA! The stamp set I used here is marked down too! Use code KRISTINA15 to save on the already low prices!

Follow Your Heart

I love making tags because you can create them with a lot of color and texture.

The Butterfly Die was a perfect addition to the front of my tag.  I cut that out in white and then inked the edges with Hero Arts Butter Bar Ink and then added a flower from my huge stash.

IMG_1135[1]

IMG_1137[1]

For the base I added Hero Arts Orange Soda Ink, Butter Bar and Bubble gum onto my silicon mat and then sprayed it with water and spreed the colors around.  I then placed the tag onto the colors and made sure that it covered the whole tag.  I dried it with my heat gun.

Then I used my favorite stencil, Hero Arts Leaf and Flourish and used Orange soda, Butter Bar, Bubble Gum Ink and a sponges to transfer that stencil pattern onto my tag.  I started at the top and worked my way down changing the colors so it was dark at the top and light at the bottom. I then used Wet Cement with the same stencil and just added some leaves to it.  I used some stamps from Hero Arts 19th Century French Script with the same ink pads to add some depth to the card.

I heat embossed the Follow Your Heart with Gold embossing powder to the bottom corner.  Then I added some “stitching” with a fine black pen.  Then I put it all together.

Pop of Color!!

Hello everyone!!  It’s Kymona from Kreative Kymona and I’m here with my last post of the year and I’m doing that with a POP of Color for you!!!

You have a couple of days to enter our Watercolor Challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store.

I love watercoloring and I recently learn how to use distress markers to create a watercolor effect.

Take a look at my card:

Your Amazing front

(You have to see this card in person. The purple is so rich but this photo doesn’t display that.)

What do you think?  I love how the one flower has color so it’s the center of attention.

Lets take a closer look at my flower:

Your Amazing side

I decided to cut two of the petals to add the sentiment behind the flower as to not cover up the flower.

Your Amazing glitter flower

I added some Wink of Stella to the flower to really make that rich purple pop. Isn’t that amazing!!!

You want to know how I created this card?  Its quite simple!

1. I cut my watercolor paper to 5 x 3.75.

2. I randomly stamped my flower image using Memento Black Ink.

3. I used two distress markers to add color to the tips of my flower and the base of the flower.

4. I used my 4″round watercolor brush and water to pull the color down the petals and up from the base.  I heat set it and repeated that two more times.

5. I stamped my sentiment using Versamark Ink and Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I heat set that.

6. I cut two of the petals so that the sentiment panel could sit behind the flower.

7. I added one Hero Arts Gem to the center of my flower.

8. I adhered the panel to my card base.

Very easy and sophisticated to create.

Well, now its your turn!!

All of the supplies I used can be found at the a2z Scrapbooking Store. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used please head on over to the store and use the coupon code KYMONA15 to get 15% off your purchase.

I hope my card gives you some inspiration to participate in our Watercolor Challenge. It runs to the end of the month, you only have 4 days left to play along.

You have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the a2z Scrapbooking Store. Hope to see you there!

Hello everyone!! Kymona here from Kreative Kymona, with a cute “Just Because” card that combines two Hero Arts products, which is what for our current challenge!!

Before I begin, I want to let all of you know that the winner for September’s challenge will be announced at noon.

The following stamp set that I used has such a pretty flower in the set.  It gave me a chance to sit and color the flower.  I even taped it for you to see how I colored and put the card together!  That’s a big deal, since this would be my second video ever!!

Take a look at my card:

Just Because 2

Tell me that flower doesn’t look amazing!!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cute my card stock to an A2 size (4.25 x 5.50). The pattern paper is cut to 3 x 4.50. The top white panel is cut to 2.50 x 3.75.

2. I colored my flower using Copic markers YR02, YR04, YR07 and Y15.

3. The sentiment was stamped and the flower attached with some foam adhesive.

4. I added some bakers twine between the flower and the sentiment.

5. The white panel is adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

6. I added the Diamond Gems for added inspiration and some Wink of Stella to the flower.

Nice simple and easy.

Now take a look at my video! Its in fast motion
