Waterlilies from the Color Layering Koi set

Hello crafty friends,

Today I made a tag featuring the Waterlilies from the Hero Arts Color Layering Koi stamp set.  At first I thought the flowers may be too small, but in the end it turned out just fine.

My process:

  • Trim white card stock into 3 1/4 by 5 1/5 in tag.  Use inking tool and sponge Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, and Milled Lavender to create a soft background.
  • Layer Hero Arts Delicate Petals Stencil on top of inked tag.  Spread thin layer of white embossing paste, remove stencil and let dry.
  • On white card stock, ink and stamp waterlilies, and lily pads.  Die cut using Hero Arts Color Layering Koi Frame Cuts.
  • Color flower center using Copic markers.
  • Stamp sentiment from same set on vellum strips using Jet Black StazOn ink.
  • Adhere waterlilies, lily pads, and sentiment on tag as shown.
  • Tie bow using strip of white soft tulle.

I think the embossed background provides a nice backdrop of the waterlilies.

There is still plenty time to play, pull out your favorite stencils and join in the March challenge – Playing With Stencils.  You could win a $25 gift card to the store.  Just remember to use some Hero Arts products such as stamps, stencil, die cut, digi stamps on your project.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Bold Floral Stencil of Hero Arts is one of my favorites and today I am happy to share this card with you. Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with a colorful textured card created with one of the most beautiful stencils from Hero Arts, the Bold Floral. Take a look at my card:

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

Working with stencils is very fun and you can explore different techniques with them. On this opportunity I used Creative Medium Iridescent to create this effect that is more evident over dark card stocks.  The base of my card is Whisper White and the second layer, the one I worked over with the stencil, is Always Artichoke.

I secured the stencil with masking tape and I start by applying the creative medium with a palette knife over the free areas of the stencil using three different colors. I used Purple, Green and Pink of creative medium. I removed the stencil and washed with warm water and let the card stock dry naturally.

Using the die cut included on the set Happy Stamp & Cut from Hero Arts and whisper white card stock, I cut several times the word happy and pasted these to create a bold word. Then I assembled my card leaving a tiny border on the left and top parts and and pasting the word on the center of the card to create a big contrast.

BOLD FLORAL STENCIL FROM HERO ARTS

The process was very easy and the effect is amazing! You can explore this technique using embossing paste and to give color to it simply by adding a few drops of ink. Also if you don’t have Creative Medium Iridescent, you can use Pearlescent Embossing Paste and mix it with the inks.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can use the code Martha15 to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

POETIC PETALS DIGITAL FILE HERO ARTS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia with you! The spring is almost here but our challenge is not ending so I decided combine these two elements in one card for you today using Poetic Petals a Digital File from Hero Arts, maybe one of my favorites from the entire collection. Take a look at my card:

POETIC PETALS DIGITAL FILE HERO ARTS

To create this card I used Cherry Cobbler card stock for the base and a decorated piece of paper for the second layer. I simply decorated this layer with a few loops of natural hemp twine that I finished with a tiny bow on the left side.

I printed the Blossom C from the Poetic Petals Digital File over whisper white card stock, colored it with Copic Markers and then fussy cut with my scissors. I cut an oval with a die cut and pasted the Blossom C over the left side of the oval. Then I stamped word by word a sentiment from the stamp set Celebrate Tag Stamp & Cut by Lia from Hero Arts using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. Finally I pasted the decorated piece over the base using dimensionals and added some black heart sequins.

You can find Poetic Petals Digital File  and more digital files like this in the a2z scrapbooking store where you can enjoy 15% off with my discount code MARTHA15. If there’s ever something you want that you don’t see in store, use the custom order button. It’s easy, quick and you won’t pay more!

VALENTINE CARD WITH LOVE IS BY LIA

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Valentine card with Love is by Lia is a card that I made using one of the new stamp sets from Hero Arts. Valentine is around the corner and I am sure you have a lot of friends to celebrate this day or to send Valentine cards, and I decided dedicate this month to Love. Take a look at my card:

VALENTINE CARD WITH LOVE IS BY LIA

The base of my card is Rose Red and the second layer is Whisper White. I stamped the envelope and the heart using different colors of ink, Rose Red for the hearts and Sahara Sand for the envelope. For the word LOVE, I used the double stamping technique, first I stamped the image with Rose Red Ink and then I moved a little the image and stamped again the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

As final touch I added some black heart sequins on the envelopes. The original images has the hearts included but I wanted to add more bling with the sequins.

LOVE IS BY LIA FROM HERO ARTS

Love is By Lia from Hero Arts is the stamp set that I want to share with you today. I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it, and since Valentine’s day is around of the corner, I decided to express my sentiments sooner. Take a look at my card:

LOVE IS BY LIA FROM HERO ARTS

I created this using Whisper White card stock:

  1. Cut the card base. The size is 4-1/4″11″ with score in 5-1/2″
  2. Cut the second layer. The size is 4″x5-1/4″
  3. Stamp the sentiment YOU + Me on the upper part using Celestial Cooper Delicata Metallic Ink.
  4. Stamp the heart on the lower part using Celestial Cooper Delicata Metallic Ink.
  5. Tie some loops of red and white bakers twine under the sentiment.
  6. Paste the decorated layer over the card base using dimensionals.
  7. Decorate the loops of twine by creating a banner of decorated paper and paste it with dimensionals.

LOVE IS BY LIA FROM HERO ARTS

I added a tiny red heart on the center of the banner to have a major contrast of colors, but I really love this clear and simple style and the type of the images that Love is by Lia has.

Hero Arts You’re So Lovely card

Now that Christmas has past, I am in the mood for a sparkle and shine kind of card today.

hero-arts-youre-so-lovely-card

I started with gold heat embossing the blooms and the sentiment. The leaves were stamped with one of Hero Arts ombre ink pads. It’s so easy to achieve dimension and interest with the ombre inks. Sure one could achieve similar results by stamping the image multiple time with different colour inks. However, with the ombre inks, you get different shades of a colour, all at once. Finished the card by matting with gold cardstock.

We’d love for you to join the current challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking

Hero Arts Lunch Box Notes Mini Cards

I think that the idea of adding a mini card to a child’s lunch box or even a significant other’s lunch would let them know that you care and love them. So this is what I created

hero-arts-lunch-box-notes-mini-cards

I used Hero Arts Lunch Box Notes stamp set and two colours of Hero Arts inks to add some dimension to the critters. The sentiments, also from the same stamp set used black ink. To focus on the main panel, I matted them with black. I looked around for some scraps of printed paper that coordinated with the stamped image to complete the 3″ x 3″ cards. Wouldn’t your kids or your partner love to find one of these in their lunches?

We’d love for you to join us at this month’s challenge here at a2z Scrapbooking.

Hello Friend ~ Color Layering Graphic Flowers

Welcome crafty friends. I have a new card to show you that I created with Hero Arts CL862 Color Layering Graphic Flowers stamp set.

Aug 29A

Using mini inks from my current favorite Lucy’s Floral Favorites mini inks. I love these colors and love how they work together. I stamped the middle two sized flowers – the larger one with Butter Bar and the smaller one with Fresh Pink. The centers of the smaller flower were stamped with Soft Cantaloupe.

Aug 29B

I stamped the leaves with the Green Hills color. I fussy-cut all the flowers and leaves.

I assembled two flowers with leaves, stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of yellow cardstock and matted it with a cantaloupe-like color.  Here’s my completed card

Hello Gorgeous Swallowtail Fancy Butterfly

Hello Gorgeous wm main

Happy mid-August – I can’t believe how fast this month is flying by!  I hope you will find time to join our “Color it In” Challenge this month.  Coloring is such a great way to relieve stress and back to school can be quite stressful, so take some time for yourself and do some relaxing coloring to enter the challenge and you might be the winner of a $25 gift certificate to the a2zscrapbooking store!

For these two cards I masked off the middle of the card and put a few masks of the Hero Arts DL133 Swallowtail Fancy Butterfly die and colored around them with a sponge dauber and Distress Inks.  Then while the ink was still wet, I sprayed a background script stamp with water and stamped it on the inked portion to lift some of the color off.  Then I sprayed some shine on with shimmer spray.  I finished the top and bottom off with some striped washi tape and a white embossed sentiment from Hero Arts CL924 Hello Gorgeous stamp set.

Hope you will take the time to enter our challenge this month here: Color it in!  Just remember to use one main Hero Arts product to be eligible to win the $25 gift certificate to the store!  Woohoo!

Hero Arts – Dare to Dream

I’m happy to see stamp sets designed to support our girlfriends. The Hero Arts CL 925 Dare to Dream is one such set. I’m seeing cards with word clusters and thought that the Dare to Dream stamp set would be a good set to use to create a word cluster card.

My mini MISTI was a great tool to use to create this card.  It helped with stamp positioning and on the occasions when I didn’t get a good impression, it was so easy to re-ink and stamp again.

Aug 14A

I re-inked and re-stamped a variety of stamps from the stamp set.

Aug 14B

Aug 14C

Aug 14E

I continued until I covered the card front.

To complete the card, I added a small bright pink border and a few sequins for a bit of bling!

Please join us at the a2z Scrapbooking August 2016 Challenge .  Please be sure that your project uses at least one Hero Arts product.
