Hero Arts Winged Friends

Hi, friends, Chark here today with my favorite flower stamp, the Hero Arts Large Hydrangea as a background stamp instead of the focus image. It’s still beautiful and fun to color, but it’s only a supporting player for the main image from the digital collection, Winged Friends (just $2.99 for four beautiful images.)

I used Prismacolor pencils on the butterfly and Tombow markers on the flowers and leaves.

IMG_3984

I used white embossing powder after I stamped the flowers in Versamark ink and the white lines help keep the watercolor effects of the Tombow markers right where I wanted them. The bleeding and mixing of colors was controlled in each flower this way. Couldn’t love this flower stamp more and there’s just one in stock in the store! If it sells out, you can always special order it at a2z Scrapbooking at no additional cost!

To finish this project, I cut out the stamped panel, adhered it to a white gift bag and added silver border stickers and some ribbon from my stash. It’s ready to go to a birthday party now!

Happy Saturday!

Boo Stamp & Cut for Parties

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to show my little gift bag idea using the Boo Stamp & Cut set. I love the Stamp & Cut sets that come with a few stamps and the corresponding dies…so convenient.

img_2348

I used the larger ghost die with vellum and then the small one with orange glitter paper. After I stamped the mini ghosts on the black cardstock, I added some of the face stamps. Fun! Some of the ghost stamps are used with first generation stamping, then some with second and third generation stamping, so I’d get a variety of looks for the ghosts.

Here’s a little hint—I used the White Unicorn Ink, which is a fabulous white ink, but it does take longer to dry, so don’t smear yours like I did. The little guy at the bottom looks like he has a headache, doncha think? 🙂 Here’s a close-up of the non-smeared ghosties.

img_2354

If you have the Boo Stamp & Cut, I’d love to see what you’ve done with it. If you don’t have it and want it, it’s only $10.20 in the store right now…look at all these cute face stamps you get with it.

And if you like the idea of a smaller stamp set with matching dies all in one set, you can get your own at the store, including this Antlers Stamp & Cut and this Merry Stamp & Cut, each costs $14.95. But, if you have a cart of $25 or more, you can use my super special code CHARK15 to get 15% off your cart!

Stamp & Cut sets are just one way to get stamps and matching dies together, we also carry the larger stamp sets paired with their matching dies. These cost a little more because they contain more and bigger stamps and dies.

Don’t forget to enter our October Monthly Challenge—Layer It! You could win $25 to the store.

That’s all for me today, have a great Monday!

Dressing Up a Gift Bag

Hi, friends, Chark here today to show you an easy and CAS way to dress up a plain gift bag. It’s one of my favorite things to do, because you can personalize any gift bag for any occasion. For this one, I made a pretty generic bag for any occasion but of course, I added some sparkle!

IMG_1189

I stenciled with the Hero Arts/Basic Grey Heart Pattern stencil and some Candy Apple Red Distress Ink. Then I printed out the digi “Enjoy” sentiment and adhered it to the stenciled panel. I added strips of red glitter paper to match the hearts and some white tissue paper. Ready to go!

IMG_1188

And just a little hint, this fab and versatile stencil (I can see this on a scrapbook page, baby card, wedding tag, and all kinds of projects) is just $3.50 right now at the a2z Scrapbooking store!

Mmmmm…Coffee

coffee

Hi, crafty friends! It’s Chark here today to show you a project I made for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. When I think coffee, I think caffeine and when I think caffeine, I think of being a parent with a young kid. Where DO they get their energy?! I made up a little gift bag but this could also be turned into a card. You could fill this for new parents with a coffee gift card, caffeinated chocolate bars (my college-age daughter loves them), or any kind of fun new-parent gifts.

IMG_0568

I stamped the Lil Hoot owl stamps first and colored them with Prismacolors. Then I added eyelids with a thin marker to make the big owl look sleepy. I mounted them on a copper colored stenciled background and added the digi sentiment below their branch. Then I just layered the panel on corrugated cardboard from some packaging and some blue pearl paper.

I think this would be a hit at a baby shower.

Here’s a close-up.

If you want to see more coffee goodness, hop over to the personal blogs of our talented Design Team at these links. Hope you’ll join in the Spring Hop and link up your project! I’m wishing you good luck on the plethora of prizes to be had on the hop, including the $25 gift code to a2z Scrapbooking Supplies!

Shaker Gift Bag

Hi, friends, it’s Chark here today to show you a project I made with a gift bag from a jewelry store. It was a quality black bag (that held my 25th anniversary ring!) and had the store name on just one side. So, I did some easy trimming and taping and got a shaker gift bag to give for Christmas. Classy upcycling!

Step 1: Trim off the store name from the front of the bag.

IMG_8098

2. Trim a plastic bag to fit the hole and fill with a stamped sentiment and sequins. The flat sequins don’t move around as much as the cupped sequins. You can add other stamped images such as stars or hearts or more sentiments.

IMG_8102

3. Adhere a piece of pearlized silver paper to the inside of the bag to cover the hole and then place the sequin bag over the front of the hole that you cut.

IMG_8108

4. Use glitter tape to tape the sequin pack to the front of the bag and cover the edges.

IMG_8111 5. Give a gift to someone special.

IMG_8136I really hope you’ll join us this month for the Hero Arts and Shaker Card Challenge to try to win the $25 gift certificate to a2z Scrapbooking Supplies and don’t forget to check us out on Twitter and Facebook  for great deals, ideas & maybe even a giveaway!
